I received a letter from Mason Grace Enterprises a few days ago offering an "incredible work from home option" it offered several different levels of payment for letter stuffing $10 any envelope, I have always been suspicious of things too good to be true, so I was sceptical to begin with, after reading the letter to its entirety, Several issues stood out:
- There is only a mailing address, no phone, no fax, no web address, just an address to send pmt to.
- The mailing address is for NY, NY but the postmark is PA.
- Contradictory phrases (i.e. send mail straight from your home, and just send the filled envelops back to us after you have completed your asignment.
- The offered pay is so outrageously lucretive that there is no way that a company could proffit paying this amount of money for some letters to be sent.
After doing research, I and finding no online information about the company, then I search the address for the pmt to be sent to and it comes back as a virtual business hub, "Regus" of course I know that they can not be blamed they are as much a victim as any one else that is drawn in by these individuals.
I call a corporate number that I found on the website and they gave me the local Manhattan number for the business hub that is being used. I call them and they say that they have no contact information in which to reach this company, which I do believe that this is a bit rediculous that they can say that they do in fact have a business relationship. But they either do not have information on the company which should be a huge red flag that a company gives you no way of contacting them, or that they cant give out something as simple as a contact number. Until the laws change that force companies to know who it is that they are dealing with and to be more friendly to those seeking information on such a company can get it without a court order then there is not much that can be done about that now.
The one thing that upsets me so much about these scam and con artists is that there isnt much help for you most officers that you talk to after you get scammed take your statement but the only follow up or action that seems to be taken is that they inform you "maybe you should have done more research."
However I did not actually send Mason Grace Enterprises any money due to the fact that it seemed fishy all the way around, so I can not actually say that they are in fact running a scam, but from the information that I have collected, I see no other explanaton. But all that I can do is present my information forward and hope that it saves someone else from being drawn in by these predators.
