I signed a "contract" for 12 months, never realizing Massage Envy would continue to charge my credit card $59.00 a month forever. I'm now 4 months past the 12 month contract. I have tried numerous times to cancel, but to no avail. They simply continue the monthly charges. My credit card company says that once you give them your card number & agree to monthly recurring charges, they can't stop it and recommended that I cancel the card and get another, which I just did. If this unethical practice isn't illegal, it should be. They apparently do this to everyone. It's a scam. Money Magazine has a list of sites similar to this one where complaints can be aired. I advise everyone to use them all. People should know never to sign a contract or use the services of any Massage Envy business. This scam appears to be nationwide. It must be company policy to secure the customers' credit card in order to continue the fleecing of unknowing customers.

These kinds of contracts often have clauses that allow them to continue charging you after the term of the contract, until you cancel in writing. It stinks, but that's what it is. What does your contract say will happen at the end of the term?
