went in to cancel membership and i spoke with one of the receptionists on duty. she searched through a messy stack of papers looking for the cancellation form. But, then Joe say up from his sofa and pulled the receptionist aside and walked her over to an office out of the customer's hearing range. She comes back and Joe sits back on the sofa. Now, both receptionists inform me that in order to cancel i need to bring a doctor's letter or proof that i am moving. They said cancellation is not possible without the two items mentioned previously. All I could get was that my account would be freezed for 6 months. What happens after the 6 months? I need to cut unnecessary expenses due to an unexpected event. I have know idea when my financial situation will get better. They said the contract i originally signed explains cancellation procedures. Well, it would have been nice if someone spoke about them when signing up. Of course, they didn't speak about it. They wanted to omit the information and make it difficult for people to cancel. Do not sign up with this sneaky and scamming company.

Its YOUR responsibilty to read contracts,understand them, ask the questions before SIGNING.
Its YOUR responsibility to cancel. So do the next phase, Send them a written request for FINAL cancelation. If there is a  penalty ( financially), then ask what that amount is, then pay it and be done with this business.
Did you even keep your contract? Do they have a copy on file? Some things in contracts are not enforceable under the state laws, so its up to you to GET informed.
Do the adult thing and manage this cancelation thru written form.

  You're kidding, right?  Are you seriously complaining that you signed a contract without reading it and expected that someone else should read it to you?   It's a contract.   It binds you to the terms that are right there in black and white.   It is not anyone's job (except maybe your lawyer's) to tell you what you're agreeing to.  Even if some salesperson does give you their interpretation of the contract, it doesn't matter.  What's on the paper is still what you are bound to. 

  If you continue in the habit of signing things that you don't agree with, life may prove to be a disappointment for you.
