Massage Envy This location and company mislead me verbally regarding a contract I signed with them. The language in the contract is also vague in a few areas. They are not easy to work with and in general do not Lenexa, Kansas

     I was sold a Massage Envy membership a couple of years ago.  I have since moved to an area that does not have a massage envy within 100 miles.  When I was sold the membership I was told I was purchasing a massage a month.  What the contract actually states is that I'm entitled to 1 free member massage a month.  AHA!  Here is the tricky language that then screws you in the end.  I was unfortunately had several life situations including moving several times and then finally to an area where I am over 100 miles from the nearest Massage Envy.  I have 21 massages built up.... free massages this is worth $1029.  However if I cancel my account... then I will lose this money or in their minds the right to these "free" massages. 

     Don't get suckered in by the slight of speech this company uses.  Did the gal that sold me the membership know the words she used were mis-leading?  I don't know but there is a big difference between purchasing a massage and it being classified as the right to a free massage. 

   These folks think of themselves as a gym membership type structure.  I had no idea.  Now I have to make the choice, cancel the $50 a month membership and lose a $1000 or hopefully be able to get to a massage envy enough times in the next several months to use all these massages.

    It's a situation that leaves a really bad taste in your mouth.  There are also fairly unhelpful and rude about this.  They like to remind you that you were the idiot that didn't understand the contract.
