I signed a one year contract with Massage Envy July 2011. As luck would have it I was diagnosed with breast cancer the following month. I had surgery in October and started radiation in December. I contacted Massage Envy and requested my contract be cancelled due to the circumstances.. The denied the request. At that time, I had no energy to fight them. I chose to focus on getting well. There was no way I could get massages, so I paid the monthly charges and patiently waited on my contract to end. When I saw a charge on my credit card in August 2012 I called them and was told that despite everything and my previous request to cancel, I needed to send another one. I sent in the request and had another charge in September because they claimed my my request was not timely so I would be charged for another month. I was also informed I had 11 massages available. There is no way I could use them all in a month. I went in October and had a facial and transferred one to my daughter. In October I had no charges to my card so I thought this was over. Well I was wrong. This month there was a charge to my card. I called them and was told they charged my card because they are trying to work something out with me so I can use all the massages I have available. I promptly told them that there is nothing to work out. If they can hold me to their contract and make me pay when they knew there is no way I could have massages while undergoing radiation, then there is no way we can work anything out. I have called the credit card company, so they won't be able to put through anymore charges, but their conduct is immoral and there is no way I would want to do business with a company that treats their customers that way. Horrible company.
