I saw a savngs coupon inclosed in an envelope labeled Value Pack Couons which comes out in this area. I called the company, Master Cleaning Carper and Air Duct Cleaning to inquire. The individual asked what type of home I had. I told him I had a 3 bed room rancher. He asked me how many vents did I have which I replied 11. He asked how many returns did I have to which I said 1. He said the advertised price was $59.99 for unlimeted vents the home, but he would have a charge of $30.00 for the return so the total work would cost me $90.00 for the job. I agreed and asked him if there would be any hidden charge? He said no hidden charges as the coupon states. We made the appointment. The tech said that only covered the ducts to my home and wanted to add extra for additional work he would have to do. I told him what the man on the phone said. He stated he would have to call the office. He came back and told me the normal cost would have to be rasied because he would have to clean my furnace and that the total coast to do the entire system usually rand around $1500.00. My cost would be $1200.00. I reminded him what I had been told on the phone. He said that was just an estimate with out seeing the house. He asked me when was it last done? I said I had not done it before, but when I saw the coupon I firgured why not? Now that he came out he could not do it for that price. The tech stated the systen should be cleaned more often than once in awhale, well as the heat pump and inspect the dryer, etc. I told him the man on the phone and the coupon spoke for him self. He called again came back and said he would do since that was the price quoted. I told the tech all I wanted was the vents cleaned out and if the furnace needed service later then I would call someone out for it. He said since I was quote $90.00 he was told to do it. He went out side and did not return. I went to look and saw he had left. I think this is false advertisement and a complete attempt to rip off someone. I just wondered how many people they do this to and how many just pay the extra. If you call the number listed on the bottom of the coupon for Value Pack the answer you get is the customer pays for the adertisemnt and is the soul resonsibe party not them.
