Corporate Advocacy Program™
I am here to give you fair warning about using Mastercraft auto on Two Notch Rd. I took my car there to get 2 breaks put on and it took nearly 4 hours. I had another mechanic tell me they put the brake pads on wrong and did not not turn the rotors which in turn destroyed the pads they just put on. I called the service manager Brian Anderson and he told me that whoever told me that he didn't turn the rotors is full of S###. Well sir, I guess a good mechanic knows a frickin' break pad last longer than 4 months. This whole organazation is a joke and I RECOMMEND KEEPING YOUR CAR.... FAR FAR FAR WAY! A report has also been filed with the Better Business Bureau... and Consumer Affairs.... It is so hard to find a good mechanic... If anyone knows a good mechanic in the columbia area.. let me know..
THESE RIP OFF OPERATIONS DON'T REALIZE THEY ARE NOT ONLY SCREAWING OVER ME, BUT MY FAMILY...
I beg you not to use Mastercraft auto on Two Notch Rd.
Fear the old Barber, Fear the young Doctor, AND FEAR ALL MECHANICS!

POSTED: Friday, September 01, 2006Getting the lower price after the fact means nothing. Like you said, anyone can make that claim when they aren't doing the work.
That's amazing that he would think the dealership is the good guy.
I would never trust someone who only said they could do it for less after you got a lower price from somewhere else. To me, that means they threw out a high price to begin with, to see what they could get away with.
The whole point is the guy agreed to the price and bought the service. He has no right to get back the difference between your price and another shop. You have nothing to do with their price, if they want to do it for less, fine. He should have found that out first. If he wants to spend all day bargaining between the shops to get a lower rate, fine. He would never get out of the dealership for that price anyhow...
This isn't just in automotive. Some people just think they deserve everything! The store is supposed to wait on them hand and foot, sell them everything dirt cheap just for the privilege of their business? I don't think so, it goes both ways. You should be willing to pay a fair price so both parties are happy.
If I went to the store to buy a vcr or whatever, and later found it cheaper, I wouldn't expect the store to give me the difference. That's my problem. Just because some stores will play that game doesn't mean they should be expected to. Oh well...

POSTED: Friday, September 01, 2006He came to me. I checked everything out, and beat the dealership price. What a shock!
He had me do the work. I did what was actually wrong, and pointed out the BS work they claimed he needed. I was about 20% less than they were.
After I did everything, he went back to the SoSucky dealer. They gave him a new estimate. Now, they claimed they could do the work for about 20% less than I did it for. They even gave him a discount on the parts(something this dealership does not do for other shops), and their labor.
The customer came back and was asking for some of his money back. I was stunned. He figured I owed him the difference between what I charged him, and what the SoSucky dealer now claimed they could do the work for. I asked him if the dealer refunded the difference between what I did it for, and what they originally said his bill would be. Of course not.
I offered to give him ALL of his money back, plus an extra $100 the next time all that work needed to be done. He thought he was going to get that back right then. I told him, "No...the NEXT time it needs to be done, I'll do the work for FREE, give back your money from this bill, and throw in $100 for the trouble".
He didn't understand why I wouldn't just do it now. I explained that it's easy for someone to CLAIM to be able to do something, when they don't actually have to be responsible for doing it. I asked him why he was mad at me. He told me I ripped him off, because the dealership NOW says they could do the work CHEAPer. It never sank in that they were LYING to him.
I was the bad guy. The dealership was the hero.
Amazing.

POSTED: Thursday, August 31, 2006Then comes the, "IF I had a tow-truck." Same with auto repairs, any mechanic hears this crap over and over. If a customer tell me, "So and so would do it for $x dollars less," I close the hood and tell them to move on down the road, I'm finished.

Don't feel responsible Charlie!!
AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, August 30, 2006
POSTED: Wednesday, August 30, 2006It is clear from the begining of his post "Charlie quit lying and crying" that Brian is NOT professional in any way. It continues throughout his rebuttal that he cannot handle customers well.
"not as his lying a#*" ... "low life no good lying what ever" ... "We the auto shops of norhteast are going to put flyers out warning about charles brailey and his fake addresses no good phone no.s bad cell no.s etc like i said can"t tell the truth . " ... " being a lying cheat" ... ALL unprofessional! I have had to deal with upset customers, and even customers who have lied! Was I mad? Yes! But I never acted like you have.
NO DOUBT your boss has seen your posting and THAT is why you were fired! You took matters into your own hands and represented your company in a horrible way. You continued any damage that Charlies post had done, and made it worse by looking like an uneducated, revengeful (you actually went by PEPBOYS and checked out his statements?), and petty little boy. I would fire you too! Do you think your previous boss was going to be happy and thankful that you "Defended" thier shop in the way that you did? NO! Grow up!
As for the rest of this posting, Charlie had a right to make his point and detail how he felt he was ripped off. But sorry Charlie, Concerned had every right to post a REBUTTAL. That is why it's called such! She believes she gets fair treatment and wants to tell people.
You missed the entire point of this website by going on and on about why you were ripped of and you statement:
"It seems as if you are a loyal Mastercraft customer or possibly employee..Who knows??? Who Cares?? You are happy...I am not..."
You know who cares? The people reading this report!!!
We now know that while Charlie feels he was cheated and overpaid and was not happy... Concerned feels she (or HE, I don't know) has always been treated fairly and would recommend Mastercraft Auto to everybody! THAT IS THE POINT OF THIS SITE!!! So customers can make a wise decision based on the reports of others. NOT so you guys can argue about who is right and wrong.
SO THANKS FOR THE INFO!!

I Have nothing against you on a personal level, as I posted before I thought we were okay. My problem was the fact that when I called you back that same day, you said that was normal...Obviously not.
I am glad you responded though, because you have shown that you treat your customers so well... I have come to you way more than 1 time... Saying that is just a lie!!! I have used you several times and when you were at good year, everything was fine.. I just don't know what happened. I thought we were cool, but obviously not if you want to talk bad about what I have to do to make money so I can take care of my child. Not that it has anything to do with what I said, but for you to say that is just unreal. Atleast that is better, than laying around not even trying like a lot of men my age do. Take care ...Good luck to you

POSTED: Thursday, March 23, 2006Also if he were so unsatified why did he not call one of the owners and talk to them they are both here 5 days a week just like all employees . what upsets me is how someone you thought was ok turns out to be such a low life no good lying what ever. cant tell the truth he is even going against pep boys as we speak. but he lies about that cause i went by their myself .
We the auto shops of norhteast are going to put flyers out warning about charles brailey and his fake addresses no good phone no.s bad cell no.s etc like i said can"t tell the truth . should have stayed at the convience store where you were more qualified to work not try to make a living off people and trying to get something for nothing , if you went through the proper channels to start with instead of being a lying cheat his car wouldnt still be broken, also we did the service in aug. of 05 not last week as he makes it sound. SORRY CHARLIE!

POSTED: Thursday, March 23, 2006As far as PEP BOYS...Take a look at the other post I put on them. The service Manager called me back and he was a great guy. Told me to bring the car back in and he would take care of it. That is what is expected and that is what was delivered by James at Pep Boys. When I get my car back saturday I will fully update that Pep Boys post. The complaint with pep boys was mainly about the mechanic who worked on our car, not against the company in general. I was upset with them after the car was inspected and they said the rotors were fine and then turned around and said I needed new rotors..but that is really not concerning mastercraft.
Overall, I appreciate your opinion...and you have every right to make it heard, but we do live in The United States and I have the right to have mine heard as well. I am glad your service at mastercraft was wonderful. Mine however was not. I wish it were and I wouldn't have posted. I wish Brian would have made things right, as James did at Pep Boys, but he didn't. If you do know a good mechanic other than Mastercraft in Columbia..please do let me know, as I would love to have one. I guess the main reason I feel bad is because Brian seemed like such a friend. I brought him work any time I could. I had my friend get a break job that cost nearly a grand and for him to do a sorry job on my car and not offer any kind of back up on his service. I have even let him work on my car out of the shop...which was no a good idea. He use to do quality work..but when I took my car to him at mastercraft and was not happy with the work, I called him about it a few times and he never offered to check it out. PEP BOYS DID!!! I guess that is what sets the good from the bad! Thanks for writing again and God bless you and yours...

POSTED: Thursday, March 23, 2006Based on the venom you put in your responses, it really doesn't sound like it. I'm sure that you are well aware that a person can't fix a problem if they are not allowed to do so.
Just so you understand, I am not a one time customer of Mastercraft and I am not employee or the owner nor am I a "not so bright", as you put it, individual. I am a repeat customer and one who has referred several other customers as well. All of us have had wonderful service and total satisfaction with the work that has been done. So I would think that would tip your 50/50 odds towards the positive.
It seems apparent that you have issues with whatever gets done to your car and whoever works on your car. You are also unsatisfied with Pep-Boys because you posted a ripoff report about them as well. Is this the same Pep-Boys that backs up your claim that Mastercraft did an unsatisfactory job??? You do have the right to be dissatisfied with Mastercraft and with the service manager, and whoever else you choose to be... however, based on my experience with Mastercraft, if and when I ever had a question or concerned about my vehicle, Mastercraft and their service manager have always strived to help me out. I am sure if you give them the opportunity, they will do the same for you.
One thing I do believe you are correct on and I would agree with you on is... "You don't judge a business by one compliment or complaint...". We could go on and on about Mastercraft and the fact that you feel ripped-off and I don't. I understand that you are dissatisfied; you have made that clear and then some. I can only give an opinion on how I have been treated and how the people that I have sent to Mastercraft have been treated, and none of us feel ripped-off. I will continue to recommend Mastercraft to whoever I know that needs automotive care.

POSTED: Wednesday, March 22, 2006If you aren't involved with Mastercraft, please accept my apoligies,,but you have to understand that just because you were happy doesn't mean that everyone will recieve the service you do! I feel ripped off, which is why I posted! I am going down to small claims court to file a law suit for my money back. I have letters now FROM 2 OTHER MECHANICS WHO LOOKED AT HIS WORK AND SAID THAT IT WAS AN UNSATISFACTORY JOB!
My point to you is,,,If you go in to Mcdonalds on Thursday and get a hamburger and it taste horrible...are you going to be happy??? OBVIOUSLY NOT.. WELL WHAT IF I TOLD YOU I HAD ONE THE PREVIOUS WEEK AND IT WAS GREAT...DOES THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY? NO BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GET WHAT I GOT. IT IS THE SAME SITUATION HERE! Another words..You don't judge a business by one compliment or complaint...You feel good because you got good service,,,I think they are a rip off because I got bad service...Looks like it is 50/50...that isn't to great now is it?
I have a family to take care of and I know that car problems are a part of life...but when I get these so called special brake pads Brian told me I needed and they only last a few months...Well Heck yes Im upset. Because they didn't do the job right AND MIDAS AND PEP BOYS SEEM TO AGREE! So, I guess I will see those boys in court..Thanks for writing back and God bless you and yours!

Previous Customer Response - Mastercraft GREAT!!
AUTHOR: Concerned - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, March 22, 2006
POSTED: Wednesday, March 22, 2006My experiences with Mastercraft have all been positive ones. Mastercraft has fixed and done maintenance on my car in a timly manner and has always charged me fair and resonable prices. The service manager, Brian Anderson, was more than helpful and took time to understand my problems. He has always encouraged me to bring my car in at any time for him to help answer any questions I may have.
I have recommend Mastercraft Auto and Truck to several people and will keep on recommending them. If Charlie is a dissatisfied customer of Mastercraft then he is because of no fault of Mastercraft and the employees of Mastercraft.
