I cancelled my subscription on Match.com and was charged anyway. I called and they refunded my money A few months passed and I decided to try the site again.

I deleted the auto-renew and cancelled for the second time on December 17, 2011. They offered a 3 month suscprition for 39.99, but I declined. On December 26, 2011 they auto-renewed the canceled supscrition and charged me $59.97 for one month.

I called them only to be told they only give one refund and I had already received my one refund. They accused me of "un-cancelling" on the same day I cancelled. Is un-cancel even a word? What a joke & extreme rip off. They won't even tranfer your call to the corporate office. They only give you an email to continue your complaint. LOL

I pray an attorney will gather enough complaints of Match.com's fraudelent biz pratices and sue this corporate predetor!

They did the same thing to me!

AUTHOR: Dallas Native - (USA)

I had signed up for a short term train membership.  What they do is have a hidden paragraph buried in the very lengthy legal terms that you agree to when you click the "I accept" button.  This is the one that no one reads or it would take a whole day if you did.  What it says is that you automatically agree to renew when your subscription ends.

For instance, say you sign up for a three-month membership.  When the three months ends, you think your membership is over and your credit card won't be charged again, right?  Wrong!  Match.com rips you off by continuing to bill your credit card until you call them and complain.

They may or may not reverse the charges.  They only reversed mine because they are based in Dallas and I live in Dallas and I threatened to take them to small claims court.  If you live in another city, you maybe screwed.

My advice is to stay away from Match.com; there are other dating websites that are free, like Plenty of Fish, that don't screw you like this.  Match.com has a bad reputation for ripping people off and many complaints against them.
