In 2003 we took a holiday in Florida after visiting the Ideal Home exhibition and looked at some of the stands where they were selling new homes in Orlando. We went on holiday to view some of the homes and de died on one in Calabay Park in Davenport. Route 72. We were taken to a solicitor and signed up for the home. We were very excited and were quite happy to go ahead with it as we're were promised that the home would pay for itself as the rentals would cover the mortgage. We had to pay the deposit needed which was 35,000 dollars the cost of the home was 215,000 dollars. Over 100,00 pounds. Over a 2 year period or over whilst the home was in our possession the hcme bought in on average 400 dollars a month to, 200 pounds a month when mortgage repayments were over 1,000 per month. Towards the end of the period we barely took 100-200 pounds a month as there were so few rentals and regular monthly bills were overwhelming. Payments included grounds rental charges, insurance, agency fees for care and rentals for the home. Most utilility bills, gas, water, electric, phone etc.. We didn't even stay in the house because we could not afford a holiday. At the end we had to give up the home after spending in total over 70,000. Many homes had to be short sold and foreclosed. Unfortunately we had to join these people. We do regret now having no holiday home and parting with over 70,000.
