You do not want to work for Bob & Beth Bierwirth...I am a former employee and I can tell you from experience. Bob Bierwirth, the owner/operator will degrade you, in front of other employees and customers. He also openly states how he "hates to hire single mothers because of their lack of having proper daycare for their child." Also, personally requests of female employees "not to get pregnant while working for him."
When Bob gets angry with an employee, their hours "mysteriously" get cut for the next week or two. And if you happen to get over 40 hours in a work week, you can bet you won't see the time-and-half for overtime pay (which is required by law), because Bob has some reason as to why you aren't entitled to overtime rate.
I, personally, have heard Bob remark about a new employee "not being the brightest girl in the world", or commenting that a pregnant employee being taken out of work by doctors orders "is just looking for sympathy and is lazy". Or what about the time he hired an obese young man and didn't have a uniform to fit him? Bob bluntly stated to the boy, "I just don't have one here in your size, it's kind of difficult to find size huge around here."
One final note, if any employee dares make a complaint against these people, they completely turn it around to make themselves look like such "caring" people. With an entire story about "how much they've done for their employees" and "It must be a disgruntled teenage employee complaining." And if they find out, specifically, who made the compaint...you are taken aside and given an entire guilt trip about "how wrong you really are."

Well, what can I say? Bob is sometimes a jerk and most of the times he does make corny jokes and does make himself look like an a*s, but thats no reason to bad mouth an owner of a major franchise. He works very hard at keepin' the business up and so does his wife.
He is on the school board and he makes it to every school activity he can. He isn't a bad guy so i don't know where you got those bad intentions.
Yes he does every so often go sip a coffee and read his paper in the lobby, but its better for us behind the counter because it just makes me nervous with him there, him being the boss and all, i'm afraid to slip up!!!
And i'll also agree on the raise issue. I mean some people are hard workers w/ low pay and some people are lazier than hell and get a higher pay. That pisses me off! I have been working there about 10 months now and haven't gotten a raise yet.
I can understand this also cuz i don't work as often as he would like...i say i can work weekdays and stuff but he still only schedules me 2-3 days a week.
But i am still a kid and i need to enjoy it while i can. My grandmother thinks I shouldn't be workin' there, but where the hell am I gonna get the money? My mom ain't gonna give it to me so i gotta work for it. Its a nasty theology, but that's life.
Another reason why Bob and Beth aren't bad people are that they have two beautiful daughters, Liz and Rebecca, and a son, Carter, who is a good friend. They are really not a bad family!! So screw anyone who says anything different!!

I to worked at McDonald's for many many years. It was aweful, I went home crying many times from the treatment I got from Bob and Beth also at times. I was called stupid and idiot and just no respect from Bob whatso ever. He has little respect from women. He feels that a man does a better job then a women ever could. Now I am a parent and would NEVER have my children work there under him. I just want to warn the parents of Tupper Lake, please don't let you children work there under him, he treats them like second class like you are beneith him. I heard and seen some aweful things he has done and this is a warning not to let your children work there. Now you know why the turnover rate is so high there.
I to am an ex-employee,(wasn't fired I quit by the way) I totally agree with the first complaint it is all true and then some.
