Now the owner of this McDonald's franchise will claim that the non-courtesy cups, thats the ones with the logo on them, cost them a dollar each so this is what they must charge to not lose money. However, with just a little simple research, it was discovered that McDonald's actual cost per large cup, even with their logo on it, is 7.5 cents.
So, because I order a large sweet tea with no ice & request a large, non-courtesy cup with just ice so my tea doesnt get watered down, McDonald's, or at least this location, believes they should be allowed to make a 99.5 cent profit from my request. My question to this McDonald's, do you not already have a high enough profit margin that you have to screw over your loyal customers?
To those who may take the time to read this, it may seem trivial and honestly, the extra dollar certainly didnt break the bank but there is a principle in play here. At what point do we as consumers call companies on the little things they do because Im certain if they go unchecked on these little things they will probably only try to see what more they can get away with.
According to a conversation held with a manager at a separate McDonald's location, the owner of the Edwin C Moses location probably chooses to do this, along with a couple other small tactics, to cover the cost of the employees stealing from the restuarant by passing that onto the customers. Interesting.
In addition to the main complaint which brought me to this reporting site, I figure I should mention that the staff employed at this location is beyond rude and far from customer service oriented. They will yell and curse at you and, entertainingly enough, speak down to you as if you are lower than them. You can draw your own conclusion regarding a McDonald's employee talking down to anyone, it just made me laugh.

Why are you getting a second cup anyway if you're just getting one tea? All of the McDonald's I've been in make you get your own drink so you can add (or not add) as much ice as you want. You're shooting yourself in the foot by asking for two cups.
If you feel that you've been taken advantage of, why don't you just buy a cup and drink 6 or 8 teas during one visit? Would that even it out for you?
