McDonalds is offering a 99 cent Big Mac Promotion in California, or perhaps nation wide. You can get a Big Mac for 99 cents. However, if you purchase a Big Mac Meal, which is boldly displayed all over the restaurant, you will pay full price for your Big Mac.

I purchased qty 3, 99 cent Big Mac's and a Big Mac Super size at a MacDonalds north of Santa Clarita, Ca. yesterday. The clerk announced the price to be almost $9. Nine bucks!! Four one dollar hamburgers, that makes the coke a fries (and tax) Five dollars!!! What a ripoff!

I told him to delete the Super Size meal, and charge me for a burger and fries and drink separately, and the price came out more than a dollar less.

I said, "McDonalds is ripping people off!"

The clerk said, "Nobody has pointed that out to me before".

I think this may be fraud, Intentional Fraud, with mis-representation. Are there any class-action lawyers out there reading this list? It could be a biggie!

Im pretty sure

AUTHOR: Dallas - (U.S.A.)

Thinking back on it, Im pretty sure that the 99 cent offer isn't valid with any other offer. Im sure that they corrected the problem by now.

Think this through

AUTHOR: April - (U.S.A.)

You got your Big Mac for .99 because you figured out if you didn't get the value meal it was less expensive. Even though you DID get it for .99, you still complain?? I'm sure the clerk called the CEO of the McDonalds Corp. right after you complained to him and they will be correcting this rip-off real soon.

No Big Deal

AUTHOR: Anthony - (U.S.A.)

I don't see the big deal. When you pointed it out, they gave you the lower price on the spot. Most people understand that if a single item is on sale that it doesn't automatically mean the meal prices are on sale as well. The order-taker probably should have known this and automatically "unbundled" the items for you. But let's face it, fast food joints don't really get the highest skilled employees, nor should they given the low-skilled entry level nature of the job. I think lawsuit-happy people like yourself are a bigger rip-off of the American consumer because such non-sense lawsuits simply generate economic waste and raise costs for all consumers. I didn't know that Big Macs were on sale for 99 cents -- I hope the same is true here in Philly. I love Big Macs. I'm going to swing by today. Thanks for the info.

I don't know

AUTHOR: Dallas - (U.S.A.)

I think that the 99 cent Big Mac promotion is not valid with any other offer. I think it means if you buy only a Big Mac, not a combination meal. I do see what you are saying, but I think that if you look at the fine print, It states "Not Valid with any other offer". Are there any employees of Mcdonalds that know about this?

Wow- here's a suggestion

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

OK this is crazy but follow this:
How about not going back to McDonalds? You had an experience so traumatic that you felt you had to share it with the world. Instead of telling the world of your horrible lifestyle/eating habits, why not just personally boycott the place? This joint sells food that will you kill you and you willingly swill it down. If your life has no meaning to you, why are you b******g about a few cents? Eat disgusting swill and you have no right to complain.

Um...Can we say "DUH"?

AUTHOR: B - (U.S.A.)

In any regular or fast food restaurant, they always have deals where certain things are on sale but the full meal is full price. This is common sense if you've been eating at McDonalds or any other restaurant.

It seems to me that half the people who post on here, haven't ever eaten in the places they complain about and act all shocked when something isn't exactly the way they want it.

These companies don't do these sales to everyone's liking, but there are customers out there who want "just a big mac" and hey, it's great that they only have to pay $.99, but it's only that way when purchased by itself. Get used to it, it's always this way...if you don't like it, don't eat there.

This is America, after all.

Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion

Rebuttal:

what are you doing eating at mcdonalds anyway? the problem with america and americans in general is they can even complain about mcdonalds ripping them off. if we don't get our "big mac" in 30 seconds or less, or if it's not exactly 99C, all hell breaks lose. give it a rest. it certainly wasn't worth commenting on in a forum like this and is certainly not worth me typing all this out - im just tired of people complaining about crappy

convenience food that is doing nothing but adding to our national health care crisis - mentally and physically.
