Corporate Advocacy Program™
McDonalds advertises, (on TV, billboards, etc.), their Sweet Tea for $1. BUT, if you order a meal with it, they JACK THE PRICE to $1.60. False advertising, plain & simple. YET, it is advertised on their menu board as $1.
I have contacted the BBB, and they have closed this since McDonalds corporate WILL NOT RESPOND. The only thing the employees say when questioned, is "We have to charge like that".
PLEASE people, check this out at your local McDonalds, and join the fight against this blatant fraud!!

#2 It is true that the meals are one price and individual items are another price. not to mention taxes are different for different areas. For instance some McDonald's have a tax for there $ menu with 6 or 7 cents. So technically it is not only a dollar and the employees or anyone who works for McDonald's have absolutely no say on that matter.. So please do not blame the employees for that.
#3 Some McDonald's do not sell the same things. Some are run by franchise owners and they are the ones who decide what we sell when we sell it. For example the Mc'chicken may be sold in another McDonald's but may not be sold in another. If you would like to see said Mc'chicken you may contact the franchise owner and ask them if they would consider putting that on the menu but it may or may not happen.
#4. McDonald's are not run by perfect robots... They are ran by humans and we all make mistakes. We have many rushes during the day and it can be hard to make sure every order goes out perfect.. So the next time they forget your Frys or make your burger wrong please do not come in yelling and being rude. Calmly ask us to remake the order and we will happily remake it for you.
I do hope this helps!

Let's say you want the #1 meal (Big Mac)..it costs (for example) $5.49.
What the system does is this:
$2.90 for the big mac
$1.69 for the medium DRINK
$.99 for the medium fries
It does not matter WHAT drink you get because the MEAL costs - $5.49
Unfortunately this is just the way ALL McDonalds systems work. If the employee tries to input the PROMOTIONAL $1 sweet tea it gives them an error. It is something to do with the software. Your best bet is to do as the other person said: Order your items seperately so you can get the PROMOTIONAL Large Sweet Tea for $1. Had you actually bothered to ask the employee or a manager on duty they would have told you this and redid your order to ring things up seperately.
