I called aaround 2 pm on 7 january because the overhead pipe in my garage had burst. They cam out and turned off my water. I tried calling again around 4. no answer, all night there was no answer. I went out online and filled out a contact form. at 7:53 I got a missed call. I went to take my daughter school they were in front of my garage. they told me that the line were frozen and they couldn't work on it until it warmed up. I went to school, at 2 pm I again called saying I was on my way home. They showed up around 2:30pm. He looked at the pipe and told me that my water heater was still frozen, That he was not going to be able to work on it until it defrosted. I asked him to fix the pipe and put a valve in so my water heater would isolated so I could still have cold water. During the next three hours he left my house several times. At 5:30 he came to my door. Told me that my hot water heater was broken and that I was going to have to old school it. I asked about getting another water heater and he had to go. I paid the bill. I was charged for a 3/4 X 1/2 Pro-press rod and a 3/4 flex hose with adapters. He also charged me $95 per hour for 2.5 hours. He says that he welded several leaks and then he found a leak in the water hester tank.
He showed me a picture on his phone. After he left I went into the garage. The water heater is open the casing is on the floor there is a flex hose on the floor and it is a complete mess. i can not figure out where the hole in the piping of the water heater is.
Nonetheless, I have a mess, no hot water and am $263 poorer. At least he did fix the brass casing on the pipe thst initially broke, but, I do not even think he installed a valve. I do not know what he spent two and a half hours working on, I do not what he needed to leave so many time for, and I have no idea why he never offered me any alternatives to solve the hot water problem. All I know is I got $26 in parts and $237.50 in labor charges. For a job that I have no idea what he spent his time doing....and I still do not have hot water....
BTW he insist that you pay cash or by check. It is pretty obvious to me why.
