Beware of MeasureComp

I had seen MeasureComps advertisement on the Craigslist Website advertising for Measure Technicians in California and I submitted my application around the end of March 2007.

After a couple of weeks I received a phone call from Zack, who was employed with MeasureComp here in California and I was told they would like to interview me in person. We made an appointment for 10:00am, Saturday, 07 April to meet at Starbucks Coffee Shop in Petaluma.

On that day, Saturday, 07 April, I drove about 20 miles to the Starbucks in Petaluma and met with Zack at 10:00am. At that time the shop was very busy and there was quite a bit of background noise but we persevered. I filled out a 3 page MeasureComp application as well as a 2 page information release so they could check into my credit rating, criminal history, etc. I also signed one other document of which I believe was something like a drug testing consent. After about an hour we were finished and shook hands and he said they would call if all went well. I knew my background was clean and expected to hear back from them sometime in the future.

After about 2 weeks and on Thursday 19 April, I received a call from Zack, informing me that I had been approved for the job at MeasureComp. I said Yes, excellent! I was happy to have gotten the job. He then told me he would call me back within the week, with details on when to start training.

In about one week, Zack did call back and said that training would not begin for another 2 weeks and would be held either in Concord or Napa. I responded by saying that 2 weeks was a ways off and he agreed and said it had to do with the National Trainer not being available, then he said hold on, maybe he could train me himself and that I could join him on his route and train me earlier. He said he would speak with his supervisor and also get my laptop and training gear ready and we could probably get going beginning this coming Monday. He said he would call me at the weekend to make final arrangements. That was Thursday 19 April and the last I heard from Zack or MeasureComp.

This whole process involved 6 weeks of my time. In the middle of these 6 weeks, I was told that I was hired and had a job with MeasureComp. I of course stopped looking for other work as I was told that I had full time employment with MeasureComp. Why would I continue to look for another job when I had already been told by MeasureComp that I had been accepted and granted full-time employment. I was only waiting scheduling for training.

I attempted to contact Zack numerous times. He would never answer his phone. I left messages on Zacks Cell phone and I also call head office and left messages there at MeasureComp.

As it turns out, I can now see the way that MeasureComp treats people. It is a very un-professional company. MeasureComp obviously is out to make money at any expense. Meeting for interviews at another business establishment in my opinion is not very professional to begin with.

I was led along for 6 weeks and told that I had employment. When it obviously did not suit them they then ignored the situation by not informing me of changes. Not answering or returning my calls.

I would advise anyone to think twice before taking your time in applying to and signing on with MeasureComp. Even if you are hired, it does not mean you will actually work for them. Even if you work for them does not mean they will pay you as is demonstrated in the posts above.

I wanted to take this time and opportunity to warn others about the un-professional operating practices of MeasureComp. If you are screwed around at least you had warning.

Cheers
