On March 12, 2012 I took my 2001 Ford Excursion in to the Meineke location at 6757 East Southern Ave. Mesa, AZ. 85206 for a simple oil change. I arrived a little early maybe 10 minutes before them opening so I was told they could not take cars for a few more minutes so I would have to wait so I went back out to my vehicle. Upon waiting I noticed Dustin and another guy come out and make a comment while looking at my truck and turn and go back in a few minutes later they sent someone else out and he did the same thing made a comment out loud and went back into the shop. I got out my vehicle and asked the gentlemen was there something he needed to say he said no so i proceeded back to my vehicle to continue to wait.
8 a.m came so I went in to have my vehicle worked . I asked to have an oil change and to have my brakes checked which they advertise the brakes being checked for free. Teona and I waited in the wait area as I watched threw the window. of the 3 people there they were asking where was the mechanic he had not made it in yet and when they called him he didn't answer so Dustin the (AKA) Manager pulled my vehicle in and proceeded to change my oil.
About 6-10 minutes into the job I hear banging so I jump up to find him banging on the peace on my car where the oil filter goes and yelling to the guy to come over asking him did the part look crooked they have a drop area where
they go down into the floor to change the oil. my vehicle has a 12 inch lift on it so I was able to witness everything that they were doing. I didn't say anything at the time because I was not aware that the peace he was actually banging on was the aluminum cooler that the oil filter attaches to. They proceeded to check all my fluids, other filters and filled my truck back with oil. I was then told that they could not check my breaks but they seem to look ok so I paid and left.
within 2 weeks of driving I noticed my oil hand fluctuating so I stopped to check my oil to not only see that I barley had oil in my vehicle, but to also see that my oil was also going now into my coolant overflow. I then contact several mechanics to learn that there had been damage done to my vehicle. So I contacted Meineke corporate office and they took my complaint around the March, 24th or 25th to come back now April 27, 2012 and tell me their response listed
below which was that the oil change(work they did) would not have anything to do with what was going on with my car so they was not going to do anything, when all that is connected the part that is cracked. isthe part that the oil filter connects to the same part that he chose to try and straighten by hitting on it.
