The only reason I came here was for the cheap oil change. $14.95, there was NOTHING wrong with my car.

I learned there was an hour wait, so I told the manager I would be back in an hour and see if the waiting period changes. He insisted that he writes my name/info down for an appointment so when I return in an hour, my car would be checked in and completed immediately. I said, fine. Sounded excellent to me.

I returned an hour later, checked my car in and waited 2 Hours and Thirty minutes for a simple oil change. Before they handed me my keys, the manager told me I needed new brakes, I had less than 10% pad left for the front and the back brakes. Interesting, because my mechanic just told me a week ago that my brakes had over 60% left of  my break pads! Not only that, but the price breakdown was $120 plus $60 for the front and $115 plus $60 labor for the back. [continued below]....
..... This was the "50% off" rate. Competitors charge $60 retail  for brake pads and anywhere between 45-60 an hour. They wanted to charge me to two hours for labor and double the price for pads?? And that was 50% off?? Are they serious??!

It gets much worse. I declined the brake service and they gave me my car back. I drive off and The ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, THE VSC LIGHT IS ON, THE TRAC OFF LIGHT IS ON.

I call them immediately and informed them that these lights were not on before I pulled into their lot. They said bring it back, we'll take a look. Keep in mind, they already took 3 hours and 30 minutes of my day for a simple oil change. 

I get back there and they take a look at my car for an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes. The manager comes back to me and says "I got good news and bad news" . WTF? Good News and Bad News? 

The good news is we know whats wrong with the car. The bad news is it's going to cost $400 to fix. The manager claimed that it was an oxygen sensor that went bad. Really? in the middle of an oil change it just goes bad? I DECLINED.

I left the lot and guess what....ALL THREE LIGHTS ARE OFF. So they fixed their mistake and didn't disclose it to me, but instead tried to rip me off for an additional $400. I drove off happy to get away from them....AND THEN, I hear what sounds like 200 shopping bags stuck underneath my car. What was it? It turns out THEY FORGOT TO SCREW BACK IN MY OIL PAN COVER PLATE! I drove back and had they had the plate in their possession. I didn't get an apology, I got a cocky attitude that basically said "We Don't Give A F***"

5 Hours later..

and thats why I will never go to Meineke again and neither should you.

My identity has absolutely nothing to do with your stupid decisions.  I'm well aware of my username.  You have one, too.  My name is Samantha and I live in Florida.  I do not own, nor would I ever own, a Meineke franchise.  Their franchise fees are far too high and they consistently advertise themselves far too cheaply to customers like yourself.  $14.95 might get me 1.5 quarts of the Royal Purple synthetic oil I put in my vehicles.  

You can call your lawyer all day long.  It wont bother me any.  You'd probably be wasting your time and money in doing so.  You don't have a case....unless you're fabricating one, of course.

There is not a lawyer on earth that would  or could do anything to me because Im talking about your visit to store...lol
It so funny  when people say "I get my lawyer " ..a desperate empty threat...lol

 dont work for any oil change place and I would never bring my car to any of them..never have or will..first of all  car makers along with the oil industry tell you that you need way too many oil; changes..
you could go 50,000 miles on you oil and filter as you make sure oil is always in operating range.
I was assigned to work in one of the labs and I would take apart engines after the have ran at different mileages so they could measure the wear ...which anything under 30,000 was nil..undetectable..and after that I went 300,000 miles never changing my own , just add when needed.

Again..it is that simple to tell the manager to give you the keys and take the car.
Also they could not have done anything to cause your check eng light..all they could do is reset the fautls that turned off the check eng light..it gonna come back on..clearing active codes will always come back on after awhile.

Again..how about you give me you lawyers number and I will call him to give him my addres so that he doesnt have to waste time to find me which would cost you money for the search. So give me his number and he can mail me your lawsut so I can go to court...lol...get series..Lawyer..haaaaaaaa

It's abundantly clear that you must work for or own this Meineke establishment. Your user name is "Sucka" and your location is "Somewhere". You CLEARLY have no interest in disclosing your identity or your location for CLEAR AND OBVIOUS reasons.

I'll answer your questions anyways for the readers sake....

1. Why didn't my mechanic change my oil a week prior?
My mechanic is a family member who was over for a family function and he was happy to take a look at my brakes. He saw the condition of my pads and said I had more than 50%.

NEXT.

2. Why didn't I leave...blah blah blah....you made the decision to wait 3.5 hours.
When they put your car on the bay and they are in possession of your keys, it's not as easy as walking up out of the waiting room and taking off. I sat there patiently with the HOPES that this thing would wrap up in 10-15 minutes like it SHOULD HAVE, BUT DIDN'T. You also called me out for being "cheap". I can guarantee you, that I won't go for the 14.95 oil change scam again, I learned my lesson.

NEXT. 

3. It doesn't make any sense, missing oil pan.....
Yes, I should have been more clear with describing this. Naturally, the situation was fresh and I was typing with anger and I lacked some clarity. So let me be clear now....there are two layers covering the oil pan. One is a harder shell and the second layer is a little looser almost rubbery. They forgot to screw the hard shell part and the rubbery part was dragging on the street because the hard shell was not screwed on. So when you picked up speed on the street, all I heard was nasty friction from the rubber part dragging on the street. I immediately pulled back into Meineke and told the mechanic. They had the hard shell still in the garage and they screwed it back in.

NOW, if you insist on insulting my experience, It will be my civil obligation to get my attorney involved and sue.

Complaint Doesnt Make Sense

Why didn't your mechanic change your oil when he/she had your vehicle a week prior?

You say, "Keep in mind, they already took 3 hours and 30 minutes of my day for a simple oil change".  They didn't take anything from you.  You made the decision to wait around there for 3.5 hours over a $14.95 oil change.  You gave 3.5 hours of your own time waiting for a $14.95 oil change, not to mention the time you spent when you initially went in, and the time you probably wasted waiting for your appointment time.  Not only do you value the time of others cheaply, but you obviously value your own time cheaply as well.

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever for a missing "oil pan cover plate" to make such a noise.  Keep in mind, the plate would sit lower to the ground than the actual oil pan, if such a plate was left off as you claim.  Since this "plate" would sit lower to the ground, doesn't it make sense to presume the plate would constantly drag?  Im utterly confused.

I really have to question the validity of your ENTIRE statement.  I don't work for this company, but you honestly sound like a competitor trying to falsely make them look bad.

How would not putting your oil pan plate back on cause any sound.

Also they probably just cleared the fault code and it will most likely go back on if there is a faulty sensor. You can shut them off temporarily. There is nothing they could have done to trigger the codes.
