The next 3 months I've been going through h*ll trying to get them to stop charging my credit card!! They will take different amounts and if I didn't have enough money they continue to process the payment and overdraft charges ect.... I thought I cancelled this crap but guess what??? You cannot cancel by email so then I began calling, BUT you cannot cancel phone either-WHAT???? How is it that someone cannot call up a company and speak to the supervisor and they have no way of cancelling your account??? OMG I was livid, and then if you don't cancel by the 25th they will charge your account again no matter what the situation!! You know what I felt like, like they are bill collectors and I owe them money somehow!!!
I could not get them to stop, now I have called, emailed, filled out a paper that I had to print then fax to their customer service number and I still don't know if it will stop!! I just got an email today that they tried to take out 64 dollars again and although it didn't clear the account but for me not to worry because they have sent out my soap and toothpaste as a courtesy to me because they know if they keep processing the payment they will get paid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the long story but please WATCH OUT FOR info@melaleuca.com MELALEUCA THE BIGGEST RIPOFF COMPANY I'VE EVER KNOWN. DO NOT SELL OR BUY FROM THEM OR YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THE BIGGEST NIGHTMARE OF YOUR LIFE!!!!

Cancelling or Suspending Membership
AUTHOR: SkepticShopper - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 14, 2013
"What do I do if I get a product I don't like? (What is the return policy)"
There is a 30-day 100% money back guarantee on all products.
"How do I quit?"
You simply write to Melaleuca or download a fax-in form from the company website. You can call the 1-800 number for instructions (you cannot actually cancel your membership by phone, it has to be in writing, but you can call in for instructions). Yes, they are a company that wants your continued business. Yes, they will try to persuade you to stay. It's their job. Welcome to America, land of free market capitalism.
"What are the conditions to get this 30-40% discount? (What do 'Preferred Customers' agree to?)"
As a Preferred Customer, you agree to a minimum monthly purchase of 35 "points" in products, generally totaling $60-70 plus shipping plus Idaho state sales tax. If you do not order that amount by the end of the month or tell Melaleuca in writing that you wish to cancel or suspend your membership by the 25th of the month, your Backup Order of a random selection of 35 "points" in products will be charged to your card and shipped to you, automatically. (I actually customized my Backup Order so that I get the things I most frequently run out of.) I actually reiterate to my prospects, "You cannot just blow this off or forget. If you're short, you must write to them by the 25th of the month or the system will charge your credit card ready-or-not and you will get a box of products." Obviously, most members don't have a problem with this and they repeatedly place orders month after month. So if there is a problem, the problem is yours. Don't try to play dumb after the fact and then blame the company or your "friend".

How dare You, Sir!

healing. My grandson had severe asthma since he was born and we have tried
everything even putting in an air filtration system almost comparable to a clean
room in our home but nothing resolved it until I got into Melaleuca and switched
over to their products. Seeing him suffer for 8 years of his life was too
much, any yet 2 month after I switched over, no more symptoms. You
say it as if it was for just marketing purposes, How dare You, Sir.
And as for me, my HMO had given me an oncologist or a cancer doctor
3 year prior to Melaleuca and all we did was watched as my white cell count jump
from month after month, blood test after blood test, to the point I just
surrendered it to the good Lord. I was broken, desperate and was sadden of what
was about to happen me, I did not take the Vitamins to cure me, I took it
because I saw a boost of energy when my 82 yrs. old mother in law who saddled to
her recliner stood up and started to do things and since I was down and out, I
tried it, and it DID the job, gave me the energy. Do you think I am not thankful
for this? And in fact, Melaleuca does not even know what has happened here. You
also belittle the healing of my granddaughters eczema, have you seen people
with this condition? Some suffer a lifetime, can it be cured NEVER with
therapeutic lotions and medications, it can be controlled. See for yourself http://youtu.be/_xU5iYSGoaE . The Renew Lotion did it for her too. Cure to me is a strong word, and it would take a
lifetime to prove it and I do not make that claim, Sir! But this I know, no
other products or companies out there has left a footprint in my familys life,
only Melaleuca, Sir.

I Don't think So!
AUTHOR: tony4wellness - (USA)

PRODUCT POINTS: There is a 35 points commitment every month to get wholesale or preferred price on your order. When companies advertise, they is know how much that ad would bring in, with proven numbers as far as profit and production is concern. In other words, they would not produce more than what is needed because any overage eats into profits. Natural based products anywhere is very expensive nowadays, and since Melaleucas 350 give or take number of consumable products are all naturally based. They use the they use the 35 point commitment as their forecasting tool on buying raw material and manufacturing. It turn saving money and keeping cost down for all of its members.
PRODUCTS: I dont buy a 96 load of Melapower Detergent every month, only when I am about to run out. And this is even it healed my grandsons asthma only after 2 months of use. I use to buy vitamins at the stores, cheap in price but cheap in benefits. Now, I buy the Vitally 6 Vitamins with Oligo and it has kept me from Blood Cancer or Leukemia. Actually, my white
cell count went down only after 4 months of taking them. Again, they have about 350 products which applies to different needs and different people in my family and the 35 points is nothing.
BENEFITS: Honestly, After 3 years of using Melaleucas Ecosense products (cleaners and all), supplements & Vitamins, Shampoo, soap and even makeup for my wife & daughter, I can say not only did I save money but am living in a chemical free home environment but also a much healthier full of energy lives for all of my family members. Now, is this worth the $70.- that people complain about, I don't know, you decide!
NOTE: technical information is at the back of the application people signed. Please Read!

This guy says Meleleuca vitamins cure cancer
AUTHOR: bethh - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 07, 2013
I have already heard the ridiculous claim that Meleleuca cures asthma, ADHD, and psoriasis.
Now, this idiot says that his leukaemia is cured by taking Meleleuca vitamins.
Does he not realise how idiotic this claim is?
This is how I see it- the idiots who become vendors of these sub-standard products consider themselves independent companies.
They sell only Meleleuca products.
Meleleuca has no legal responsibility for what its moronic vendors claim.
Melaleuca "big whigs" plant the curative fantasies into the vendor's feeble minds.
The feeble-minded vendors (that's the jerks who buy and sell the garbage, for any of you involved with Meleleuca who have limited vocabularies) latch onto the "testimonies" cited by the actual Meleleuca employees.
The vendors tell lies, based upon the anecdotal "evidence" of their "superiors".
The Melaleca company has no liability as the feeble-minded vendors consider themselves their own company, so they can lie all they ant and melaleuca is held harmless.
Conclusion: so not believe a word they say.
Research the outrageous claims!
Do additional research and read articles about critical thinking skills when reading research findings.
Read the outrageous claims again!
RUN, do not walk, from Melaleuca!

Melaleuca - an honorable company
AUTHOR: Ann - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, January 01, 2013
I particularly took exception to this complaint that the company acts irresponsibly with transactions, cancellations etc. They explain everything very clearly in their catalogs and website. This company was only 2 years old when I found them. I am a transportation consultant's wife, and we have traveled all over the U.S., staying in some places a few years, in others, a few months, while maintaining our home.
Being away from home for long periods, I've had to cancel my Melaleuca "membership" many times, restarting it months, and sometimes more than a year later, in a different location. I also send gifts of these wonderful products to my friends and relatives, changing my shipping address as I just did this Christmas. I've NEVER had a problem, EVER! The service reps are very nice over the phone, the website flows flawlessly, and the orders are always filled correctly. The company's ordering and discount rules are super simple - and completely cancelable at any time.
While I read the nonsensical rants in this complaint it seemed obvious that this consumer had no intention of honoring the purchase contract he signed, nor the decency to cancel in the manner he agreed to. He likely wants special treatment in everything he does. His usual practice is to "speak to a supervisor" when he doesn't want to live up to his obligations. He could have cancelled correctly at any point. I can't imagine the hassle he put his "friend" through for months.
We've all known some people like this. They buck gravity, expect others to break their fall, and make everybody around them miserable for the duration. They can't follow even the simplest rules in life - like signing a minor business contract.
Just filling out the complaint form for www.ripoffreport.com, he broke 1/2 the posting rules he agreed to.

Your Friend did you an Injustice; dont blame Melaleuca!
AUTHOR: pinoymomwins - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, November 15, 2012
Your friend did you an injustice. She should have explained the Backup Order concept. It kicks in if you do not shop that month. Shopping monthly for as little as 35 points for what you already buy elsewhere makes sense to me as I get better quality, non toxic, cost effective and efficient products, state of the art/first in the world to be exact and patented in many cases. Injustice because she may not have informed you of ALL that you should have known when you signed up (as you said, you wanted to help her and she may not have gone through the whole nine yards with you) so that you never even tried their over 350 products. You needed to shop with them! Your choice of goods that you need month after month. So what you need to do is try their products and do not buy from outside for the 35 points at least (more, welcome!). Looks like you never even browsed or looked at your catalog which comes with your initial order. If you are not satisfied, you can call and they have the best customer service group and all my experiences, personal or for my friends, were always great. It's refreshing that the call center is in the US (Idaho), they speak english and are very helpful. OF COURSE YOU CAN CANCEL - - either online (unfortunate if you didn't set up your online shopping account) or by phone. IT IS YOUR LOSS, THOUGH. Yes, they will want you to fax them a form which helps them as the reason for the cancellation is asked there. Just like when you signed up where your friend set up your shopping account by phone, online or by fax, cancellation requires this formality too. It doesn't take long and it's not rocket science so I don't know why you had a problem.
As I said, your friend did you an injustice in not being able to help you. She was supposed to. Keep that in mind and try to explore the products and the company more. You can always reactivate and have a better experience. Customer service can help you. Anytime.

Interesting little assessment by you, but obviously you don't know much about Melaleuca. I've been a very happy customer since December 2, 1996. I use most of the products that Melaleuca markets and have found no "bad" products. I've also found the prices to be very reasonable and often less expensive than store bought products. AS far as the "attorney comment" you made. Melaleuca has been in business since 1985. There are now about 800,000 happy customers shopping with them every month. I guess 800,000 happy customers aren't quite as brilliant as you are and haven't figured out yet that Melaleuca is a bad company. Maybe we can figure it out in the next 27 years or so......since we haven't picked up on it quite as quickly as you did.

Proper due diligence can eliminate problems understanding Melaleuca
AUTHOR: memBrain - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, October 01, 2012
At the time I joined, I asked questions from the rep who contacted me. I learned everything a person should know up front before considering joining any program such as Melaleuca's. I learned that they have a minimum monthly purchase commitment. I learned that if I do not submit an order for that month, one will automatically be sent (usually around $70, but the price may vary as the products sent vary each month). In fact, Melaleuca even offered the opportunity to create a custom monthly package that addresses your typical product needs. Moreover, I also learned what the exit requirements are to leave Melaleuca (which I did, but only due to a change in life status at the time. I joined the military, and it was not feasible to continue.)
In short, I have little sympathy for most of the people complaining that Melaleuca is a scam. It is not. Everything is transparently available. There's no bait and switch. In short, the only mistake made is that most complainers did not follow through on their due diligence, and as a result, were caught unprepared.

First of all, you have to go into it with an open mind and try the products that you are really willing to try, not just some back up order, or something that you are just doing to help a friend. She should have sat you down and went over the products and listened to you and helped you order what you were interested in. For instance, everyone uses laundry detergent. The detergent that Melaleuca has in their store is unbelievable until you actually use it. It saves money, the environment, and it is just a better quality product than a grocery store brand and it does cost less because it is concentrated and you use less.
In order to cancel, you do have to fill out a cancellation form and send it to them. This is where your friend should have told you this after that first month that you got all those items that you did not even need.
Like all places of business there is protocol and policies that you must go by. Things would not go smoothly if there are not rules.
I am so sorry that you are having such an awful time with this. You should be able to get your membership cancelled since you sent in the paperwork.

The "WE" in the rebuttal
AUTHOR: JT - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, September 28, 2012
I AM a customer of Melaleuca products and have been for 16 years. I live in Amarillo, Texas and Melaleuca has no facilities in Amarillo Texas, nor do they have any employees in Amarillo, Texas as far as I know.
The "we" I stated in my last paragraph of the above rebuttal refers to me being a vital part of a company who relies solely on the loyalty of consumers who purchase their products month after month and year after year. It is a sort of partnership in my mind. They provide the exemplary customer service, products, shipping, bookkeeping, manufacturing, production workers, staff, management team and all that goes with being a major corporation and I provide what makes all that happen. I buy the products, along with 800,000 or so other folks around the world. I refer other customers that buy the products. That's what makes the "we" you refer to. That doesn't make me an employee that only speaks of a symbiotic relationship between company and consumer that make Melaleuca a very "different" sort of company. One that works and works very well for both the company and me as a consumer and referrer or consumers.
Hope this helps!!

Not much of a favor
AUTHOR: JT - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, September 25, 2012
We have had minor issues develop over the years and Melaleuca, on each occasion, stepped up to the plate and went above and beyond to please us and make any problem go away quickly. Minor things like a bottle that leaked, or protein pack that broke in shipment. Immediately upon calling them, they shipped us out new product free of charge and free shipping and told us to keep the other products as well.
When you grow up at some point and improve your overall attitude, I'd be happy to show you how Melaleuca really does operate. Their business model is stellar and their products are superior to just about anything out there on the market. That's why customers continue to buy from Melaleuca month after month and year after year.......as customers. Better, safer, less expensive products for home and body.
Remember, Melaleuca is a billion dollar company that depends completely upon loyal customers. A company doesn't maintain that kind of reputation in the market place and that kind of a long term customer base by ripping people off as you suggest.
Next time, I'd suggest you get the facts and make a well informed decision rather than "trying to help someone out" by signing up in something and then ragging on them because YOU didn't understand or comply with the rules.
By the way, there is a button on your online account that says, "suspend my account". It's easy to see, easy to do and takes very little effort. Then you wouldn't have to spend all this time and high blood pressure ranting about something that YOU caused!!
PS: We have some very good heart health products you might want to begin using. With your disposition, you would be well advised to get on them as soon as possible.
Hope this helps in some way!!
Do people do this? YES! The question arises, why would people want to buy products at retail prices? Because of the true value of it's products. You might not care about something about them and I can respect your opinion, but you cannot say that they have not done their homework on it's products. Better, more superior products was and still is the goal of this company, they pride themselves with First in the World Discoveries with over 40 Patents that are used in their products. Tell me, at what price do you put on good health for you family. For me personally, with what I know now with the products I use to used, I would never sacrifice my families health with products that has danger signs all over them, and this does not come from Melaleuca but from my own research.
I also understand that the optional Business opportunity is not for everybody but with how things are nowadays, people need help financially. Do you think JJ, Proctor & Gamble or any of the companies I buy from will send me a thank you check if I reffer them? Probably NOT.
I have been with Melaleuca more than 2 years and because I decided to share the value of Melaleuca products, I get paid for those referrals, I have not spent any money out of our family budget for any consumable products for the past 2 years and I love it! Melaleuca also has afforded me to take my family with my grandkids to a Disneyland trip, all paid for just by sharing the products and we also have plans for another trip to Hawaii this year. To some, this might be simple pleasures but I'm happy!
In closing, let me share what happened to a person who I referred to Melaleuca. It was about midnight when my phone rang and a this lady who had just started with Melaleuca called and was sounding like was in tears when she was trying to tell me of what she just experienced with Solumel, our 3 in one cleaner. So I said: "what's wrong" she said: "I have had a big problem with my ingrown toenails since she was a teenager" and She read what I had emailed her "The 101 ways how to use Solumel" and found part that where there was away to soften her ingrown toenail and be taken out and she tried it and it really worked for her. As for me, not even knowing what ingrown toenail was, and sounded like it did not have any Value added to me was just annoyed with the midnight call. She also shared, she doesn't have to spend the $50 every month in the salon to have it done. But more than that is she is not in pain anymore. After we hanged up, my wife now awaken with the call asked me what the emergency was and I told her what this lady said. She suddenly asked me to get our Solumel and a basin of warm water. Simple Pleasures! Questions, give a call Tony 408-771-0296. God Bless.

No Reason to Cancel, just suspend Preferred Status
AUTHOR: Juan - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, April 20, 2012
So... all you have to do is log into your account with Melaleuca, and "Suspend" Preferred Benefits. Once you suspend preferred benefits, you will no longer receive an automated order AND you can still buy products from then, you just have to pay the full retail price. Which is STILL less than what most Internet Vendors are selling these products for.
To me it doesn't make sense if you want to do this, because their products are superior to what I buy at Publix or Whole Foods and usually a better "COST PER USE" price than what I pay at the super markets. But if you're going to forget to order and then get pissed about the Automated order HERE IS YOUR OPTION.... Suspend Benefits... It's on your web portal, just log in and do it.

Melaleuca scam
AUTHOR: burkys7 - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, April 13, 2012
I have been a Melaleuca customer on and off for nearly 15 yrs. I have had to cancel my membership 2 different times over the years and have never had an issue with cancelling. The first time I cancelled, I didn't know how to do it, but called the company and they directed me to a form for me to fill out and sign and either snail mail it back or FAX it to them. Although I was told they needed the form in their hands before the 25th of the month, I dilly-dallied around and didn't get it to them until the 28th. I ended up receiving my first and only back-up order that month. However, the next month my membership was cancelled and they didn't charge my account any more.
A few years later, I was ready to become a member again because their products (mostly concentrated) are really good. I was a member for several years and then my job changed. I ended up working the graveyard shift for 4 years and didn't want to focus on placing my monthly order. I found a friend who was also a customer so I ordered through her. Since I already knew how to cancel my order, I downloaded the form, signed it and faxed it back that day....well before the 25th. My membership was cancelled and I was never charged for a back-up order.
Now, we've moved and my husband has retired. I've become a member again. This is the first time that I have looked at the business opportunity that Melaleuca offers. I am enjoying it and, working very part-time I have been averaging $400/month. I am always diligent in letting the people that I help enroll know that if they try it out and find it's "not for them" for whatever reason, to let me know and I will be happy to assist them in cancelling their membership. When I decided to partner with Melaleuca this time, I researched any complaints that might be out there. The cancellation process is the ONLY legitimate complaint I've found. I did find one or two other type of complaints, but they were obviously not legit because the person complaining was saying things that Melaleuca doesn't do, or have or allow their reps to do.
I'm sorry you had a difficult time cancelling and that there wasn't someone available to help you cancel. If you are still having problems, I would be happy to assist you with it.
