Recently I had made a report on Unsafe Products in reagrds to Melaleuca ingrediants. At that time I was not aware of the fact that I needed a log-in to update any of my comments. I have seen that one person has made a rebuttal in the favor of this company stating that the products have been good for their family and has improved their way of life and overall health.

First of all, there would have to be documentation from a health care provider that proves that the products bought were actually responsaile for any health improvements. Second of all, anyone beliving in any of this nonsence has simply not done thier homework! All I have to say is that I have found documentation on Melaleuca posioning and causing allergic reactions! These sales people and consumers should really check out all the facts first!

AUTHOR: Annem - ()

My son is remarkably better after using items form Melaleuca over the last 10 years, so much so, that when he went to college in Phoenix and decided to shop with the normal  grocery store lines, his extreme asthma and eczema skin irritations came right back. I have shopped here for 9 years.

Needless to say he is himself a shopper. Anyone can be allergic to anything including so called "natural products" ( Arsenic is not good for you as an example) Some people have allergies to Tea Tree Oil which is some of their products.........that does not make the products "Toxic". I have a background in Nursing ( I am an RN) and have looked at every piece of research material out there so I have done my homework. My family are in all areas of the medical field.

You should try Melaleuca out yourself. Melaleuca offers safer better quality products than you will find on the grocery store shelf, at prices that compete with the grocery stores....its that simple...

Evon if you have such documents you need to show them, just as you day products would have to be documented by a health care provider to know it they really did help or not. The same applies to your documents where are they. If you are going to make statements like this you need something to back up what you are saying is true. I use Melaleuca products, my kids and grandkids and several others I know, I have never heard of a reaction to any of these products. And to attack a company or anyone like this with no documents or doctor reports( if you had them you would have used them)  of this happening is poor judgement and pretty simple minded. The terrible thing is some people will read your comment, beleive this nonsence  and not use Melaleuca depriving themselfs and their family of these toxic free wonderful products. and I do my research

Educate yourself

AUTHOR: GL - (USA)

It seems you are the ne who is uninformed! The confusion is coming from the fact that ALL varieties of "tea tree" are extremely harmful to use internally - even 1ml can cause permanent damage to the liver. The species of tea tree oil used in melaluecas products is their sole property, and not available elsewhere - they own that plant. Get it? No, because it's easier to have somebody solve your problems ofr you & tell you what's best for you. It's a GMO variety of tea tree fern. Don't know what that means? Look it up.

Then look up h*e to make our own laundry detergent, shampoo, etc. You can make all that stuff for pennies a day's use. FOR ALL OF IT! Wake up - tea tree IS toxic, that's why the confusion is happening over the C constituat. You seem intelligent, though. You can figure out why GMO's are bad news, can't you? I wish you luck, keep protecting yourself & your family from toxic cleansers & body products. You'll figure out how to keep it sustainable long after Melalueca is no longer able to rape you for your hard earned $ for something it would only cost you pennies to make. Money hard earned bringing them more customers, that is! Blessings be upon you ~

This may be true today...

AUTHOR: Keleia - (United States of America)

however, when I first started using the products, their formula was T36-C7.  For many, many years this was the case.  Ask for information about when the company started what was their Melaleuca Alternifolia formula.  It was years later that the company switched to T35-C5.  Ask them.  Then read these articles: (((links redacted)))  Thank you for your post.

Melaleuca customer comment

AUTHOR: MWH/Florida - (United States of America)

I read all the posts in this blog and although this post may never get read or even
commented on, I have to admit, that unless you have even tried their products, forget
the business aspect, you need to keep an open mind on how many of them work with
astounding results.

I have been a customer of Melaleuca since 1996. I am going to tell you about
only one of the many products I use regularly that actually turned my life around for the better.

In 1999, a product was introduced by Melaleuca Inc. that was called ProvexCV.

Every year I would schedule a visit with my doctor (internal medicine/cardiologist) for a routine physical exam.

My visit also included lab work requiring blood analysis for cholesterol, triglycerides,
among the most important thing needed to be known. My levels were quite high and out of range. My cholesterol reached 380, under 200 is the norm, but my greatest concern was my triglycerides levels. They were 790, again below 200 is what it needed to be healthy and normal.

My doctor immediately filled out a prescription for Lipitior, a product that costs
well over $275 out of pocket if you dont have insurance, (Melaleucas current price
for ProvexCv is now and always has been since introduced is $29.99.) Lipitor
is a medication that requires very close monitoring of the liver for issues related to this product.

He rescheduled a follow-up appointment for me for one month later.

When I read about ProvexCv, I immediately ordered a supply from Melaleuca.

I used it during that month, and although I do not recommend ever going against your doctors better judgment, I needed to test this product.

When I went back for my follow-up visit, he told me the GOOD NEWS, my cholesterol
dropped from 380 to 260, and my triglycerides dropped from 790 to 360. I did not tell him
what I used, and he rescheduled another visit in two months thinking I would still be using Liptor.

I continued to use ProvexCV and upon my return visit I was SHOCKED at the results.

Cholesterol went from 260 to 185, triglycerides dropped from 360 to 195. It has remained
around this level to this date with no particular change in diet.

I am not just sharing this revelation with you by word of mouth; I have the actual written documented results from LabCorp Laboratories.

What makes this product so creditable and unique?

In 1974, Dr. John Foltz, a prominent cardiac researcher, did extensive testing on aspirin.  His findings were posted in the Journal of American Medicine. (JAMA).  But soon afterward realizing his recommendation to take an aspirin a day to prevent platelet clumping in the arteries did not
work in 40% of the population, studied the French. He found that wine from certain red grapes prevented heart disease. He then went on to utilize those red grapes and teamed up with
Melaleuca to patent this formula of ProvexCV. In addition to good healthy
nutrition, proper rest, moderate exercise and stress reduction technology such
as meditation or yoga ProvexCV is probably the most important thing you can do
to prevent heart disease. Always consult your physician if you suspect heart disease
or have a family history of it.

This product has improved greatly over the years, and since 1999, it has been and
always been a part of my monthly product order.

For the record, it contains NO MELALEUCA OIL. Every one of Melaleucas products has
been developed by the teams of scientist that they employ and have physical
document proof, even ProvexCV. After all Melaleuca is a legally registered
pharmaceutical company and cant make any claims without written scientific
evidence to back it up. ProvexCV is one of their premier products, but their
top of the line product is called Melaleuca Vitality Pack containing Oligo.
When the patent pending process is over, they will be the ONLY VITAMINS IN THE
WORLD to carry a U.S. patent just as their prior version of vitamins did. By
the way, Yes, these vitamins do contain small trace amounts of Melaleuca oil
and I have taking them since 1996, and I am NOT DEAD yet.

After seeing all of the nave, harsh, undocumented crap in this blog, I have to say Hat
off to those of you who see an unbelievable opportunity.

To those of you who have nothing better to do but to ridicule something that you
have never even took the time to explore, but to only think that the company
Melaleuca Inc. offers only bad Melaleuca Oil to society, too bad and shame on
you but there is still hope. Check out the other pharmaceutical and
neutraceutical products they have. Experience is the best teacher.

P.S. Google   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_tree_oil  to understand
the real truth

Contempt

AUTHOR: Raina - (United States of America)

Wow Evon,

you really hate Melaleuca!

First of all what did they do to you personally?

Secondly, you obviously don't have the facts, like any business, you get out of it what you put in to it. I joined 3 months ago and

I'm already receiving checks of $1200 and up. so I'd say this is no scam and anyone who claims it to be such a thing has not tried the business or has not worked it. I know people in the business who are not making money also, those same people have not picked up a phone attended a meeting or followed the reccommended guidelines for making money. This is the easiest business I've ever worked in and also the most honest.

I feel sorry for you. Instead of tearing them down get off your tush and do something worthwhile like change the world for the better one person at a time. Negativity certainly won't do that. How much money does your store pay you for your loyalty?

You could be making the big bucks with your voice instead you have chosen to breed contempt. Oh Well...

I am partner of Melaleuca does but of three years. I have used almost all the products and vitamins and I do not have complaints of any of them. They have been very effective and I have obtained very good results, as much with products of cleaning like with vitamins that I have bought. It would be very difficult for my, to have to return to use products with so many harmful chemicals, as those that are sold in any store or supermarket. Melaleuca is a great alternative, and is really a loyal and serious company, that honour its guarantees.

InResponse to Reps and complaints of Melo? lol

AUTHOR: Gfinmn - (U.S.A.)

I want to give my advice on this company. I read several comments and I have to compared like companies as Melaleuca and this is what I have found, learned: When I first became interested in this type, I was surfing on Forbes and under the list of 'Best 100 Small companies' I ran across Usana Health and clicked on it, and I found this company impressive and learned how to become a part of it, after researching heavily among MLM types. Actually years before this I went to a Melamueca meeting and didn't join mostly due to the commitment of autoship every month. But anyways I was at a time where I was willing to take a risk and high off the idea of making money off my own business so after researcing and comparing products, pay plans I decided that Usan was the one. Needless to say I did end up spending quite a bit each month on autoship about 130.00. I had 1 person in my down line in a Binary compensation plan, (which I do think is the most profitable comp plan out there) as far as MLM's go.I did this for about a year profiting about 40.00 a month. It was too expensive, but I have not found another nutritional that could match up to this one nor another facial product that could match up to this product. You could physically feel the difference taking Essentials (antioxident and minerals) after 2 weeks using and people commented on such a healthy glow I had from the facial products. No preservatives either. Unfortunately I lost a job and could not afford it any longer.

I did comapre Usana Nutritionals with others and one was against Melaleucas supplements, I do not think that is really their best product, should maybe stick with the tree oil based what they were originally known for. The ingredients and amounts used in supplements basically wouldn't give a person what they need each day, so it would be a waste to take if it isn't the right amounts they do no good.Maybe would be enough for a small animal?? I know someone who is a member with Melo, she has about people in her matrix and recieves about 200.00 a month with dollar bucks and maybe cash to use back. I too think Melo and all the others are over priced and people get caught up in the hype of it all. And usually do love and swear by a product or 2 . If you can afford it , I say go for it. As far as promoting and such, well I guess that is part of the game..lol There are literally hundreds of MLMs out there that all have their individual believers;) I still am a believer with Usana on their specialty of Nutritionals and skincare.

But if its the tree oil one likes, you can purchase Melalueca tree oil on its own at a MUCH lower cost to use as you wish. Melalueca made their name from the oil tree named Melalueca. Anyone can purchase it very cheap.:)

So anyways happy trails... You won't ever get rich unless you are the 1 percent that does!!

Poison control themselves

AUTHOR: Courtney - (U.S.A.)

I won't ramble on and repeat all that has been already stated. There will always be those who feel the need to tear something down and there is nothing that can be done about that but as sad as that is the rest of us can continue to enjoy the products and share our personal experiences. While I have one great experience after another I could share I will only share one.

When my daughter was 3 years old she had been sleeping in her toddler bed for a year already with no issues. One night she decided it was a good night to wake up at 2 AM and cause some trouble. At the time I kept my Melaleuca vitality pack on the very top shelf of the rack above the toilet. I had no idea she would much less could climb that high but with the assistance of an upside down garbage can that's exactly what she did. Those of you who have tried this product know that it comes in am/pm packs with several pills in each pack. She tore open a couple dozen of them consuming most of them.

Being three she started making a lot of noise opening and shutting things and it woke me. When I found her, as a mother my first reaction was of course panic. I knew even then that Melaleuca's products were safe but still so many pills?! I immediately got on the phone with poison control. They asked me a few questions to determine the severity of the situation and after I had finished they informed me that the ingredients in the vitamins were safe and I didn't need to worry. To watch her of course and take her to a doc if for some reason she had an adverse reaction but she would most likely have a stomach ache and some diarrhea. Thats right, poison control themselves told me how safe the products were. If I had not converted my home to safer cleaner products my story could have been different.

AUTHOR: Lisab2690 - (U.S.A.)

Hi! I have been a customer of Melaleuca for 6 years now. I LOVE their products, my husband's allergies are gone, his cholesterol is down 100 points from 285 down to 185, his blood pressure is normal, from one of their products, Prostolic, instead of toxic blood pressure medications, and I have more energy than I did 6 years ago, my house is filled with their products not because I have to, but their prices are awesome, you didn't do your homework. for everyone that says they ripped me off, I lost my home, they stole our money probably signed up with someone that misled you. I have so many people that I've introduced to the products that have ordered products EVERY month for the last several years, by choice. I LOVE THIS COMPANY, not cause they pay me to say this, but because I have had a great experience

Tea tree oils can cause allergies in some people, Mela never does say , and neither can anyone else say, no one! will have that reaction.

As to the poisonings, wasn,t that 2 cats that got into the pure oil while the owner was out? and Nowhere did it ever name the brand of oil ingested, the cats licked their fur, as cats do, 1 died one lived.
And excuse me,! but I had skin rashes for 4 years solid, my doctor could find no pharma that helped at all.
I used Melas detergents and body care items and the rashes went in 24 hours. I DO NOT need a "document" to prove such results the absence of oozing sores is all the evidence I need!
I had sore gums, commercial toothpastes made it worse, Melas toothpastes allow me to use something other than ghastly bi-carb.
I smoke and was wheezy, i also have RA, after 3 months on Provexcv i noticed i wasnt wheezing, and in 6 months, the swelling in my joints had dropped remarkably, Mela does NOT claim these results, provexcv is for circulatory help, well I Love the (unclaimed in any way,) side effects I can tell you:-)
Personally nothing you are complaining about is reason to say they "Ripped anyone" off.
You don,t like the product ,fine, but it isn,t a rip off , any more than the Pharmacies collection I posess that did not work for me.

Nonsense!

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

I became acquainted with Melaleuca Oil long before Melaleuca: The Wellness Company ever existed. The original importer of the oil shared some with me when I had a cold sore. It cleared the sore more quickly than anything I have ever used. This gentleman made sure that I had a supply of the oil. No member of my family would be without a bottle of Melaleuca Oil. We have hundreds of examples of the exceptional healing properties of this oil.

I did my research when the company organized and started to enroll members. There is a wealth of documentation about the effectiveness of Melaleuca Oil. The Australians included it in the first aid kit of every soldier in WW II. There are at least a half a dozen studies on the efficacy of the oil.

Of course there is not a single thing for which someone does not have an allergy. One of my children is seriously allergic to the oil, and cannot use it. That does not make it less beneficial for the rest of us.

There are certainly some products I like better than others. I have never been happy with the laundry detergent or fabric softener. I dislike the practice of the company when they remove products from the market that I particularly like. Currently I am mourning the loss of the hand cream. However, 90% of the products I purchase are absolutely superior to anything I can purchase in my local retail store.

We ran out of Tub 'n Tile this week, and my housekeeper said we had to get some before she returned next week, because it works better than anything she uses in the other nine homes she cleans each week.

There are many things about this company that I do not like. I do not like the political philosophy of the company CEO. I do not like what I believe is a sexist employment process that makes it difficult for women to advance in the company.

However, those complaints aside, Melaleuca is a major employer in this small Idaho town, and has brought a greater level of prosperity to many homes. It would be devastating if they did not provide so many employment opportunities.

The bottom line for my family is that most of the products are vastly superior to others, and we would not be without them. I never go anywhere, even just overnight, without a gold bar. I cannot stand to use any other type of soap.

I joined Melaleuca in 1987. I worked hard for six months. I have not attended a meeting or recruited a new enrollment since mid-1988. I still receive a monthly check from the company that provides a little extra money for me every month. That check comes because the people I enrolled in 1987 still enjoy these products as much as I do, and they still use them every day, just like I do.

When I see a great movie and tell others, the theatre never pays me a commission. Neither do any other businesses when I say positive things about them. Melaleuca understands that the most persuasive sales tool is personal recommendation, and they have figured out a way to reward those of us who share our enthusiasm for these products with others.

Complaints about the safety of Melaleuca's products are just ridiculous. Complaints about Melaleuca's failure to make someone wealthy are also ridiculous. Melaleuca rewards people who work. Mr. Vandersloot never pretends that the process of recruiting customers is easy. You cannot just join and sit down and wait for the money to roll in. You have to work every contact you have and develop a network. It is not really difficult, because all you are doing is sharing good news. When a new enrollee understands the way the company operates, and becomes acquainted with the products he continues to buy them. That is the ultimate beauty of the marketing plan. It is a great company, with amazing products that sell themselves after one use.

All birds are not ducks. They are smiliar but not the same. Melaleuca, Inc. is legal; not MLM.

AUTHOR: Jean - (U.S.A.)

I don't remember how long I have been purchasing Melaleuca products. It seems like it should have been forever. I am sorry that some people have had problems with their uplines or the company employees. I have never had a problem that has not been resolved with Melaleuca, Inc.

Years ago my daughter had a botched appendectomy. She ended up in the Pediactric ICU unit for some time. When my sister came to visit us, a toddler was put in an adjoining room. The poor child had fallen into a bucket of Lysol when someone was going to mop the floor. Their esophogus was burned. We were upset and concerned. When my sister got home, she emptied threw out the cleaners under her sink. She found someone who introduced her to Melaleuca and she passed that info on to me. We both have converted our homes to Melaleuca, Inc. products. Most of our siblings now use the products and so do my adult children. My mother and I both take the vitamins and have had noticable improvements in our health.
I cannot walk down store aisle of detergents without getting sick from the outgassing. I do not have that problem with Melaleuca products. Scented lotions have given me pains when put on my broken skin. I no longer have to purchase the expensive items at specialty stores or read the ingredient labels in the store. I can order my items online and have them shipped to my door.
If you read the ingredients on products, most "store" items have water listed first. Melaleuca does not add water to products that I have found because you can add that at home and not pay the shipping for that extra, useless weight. My upline had given me a sheet with the "cost per use(CPU)." That is much more valuable than the "cost per ounce" as you should not have to use the same amounts.

customer satisfied that melaleuca doesn't poison

AUTHOR: Philana - (U.S.A.)

I have been a customer of Melaleuca for 4 years. I switched to their products for safety reasons - I didn't want highly caustic cleaning products in my home.

Along this line, I would like to say that one of my children did get into the Melabrite and tasted an unknown amount. Panicked, i called Poison Control and told them what had happened. They asked what product it was and what company. I was relieved when they assured me that our child would be fine. I said, "can i expect him to get sick - vomit, and the like?" She said, "this product is self rectifying and will not harm your child. If he has gotten too much, he will vomit and be fine after. If he has gotten very little, it will pass thru his system and will not harm him."

I cannot say whether some persons would be allergic to tea tree oil. People can be allergic to almost anything. But poisonous these products are not.

Melaleuca does not poison people or their children and is not a fraud.

AUTHOR: Melaleucamom - (U.S.A.)

I am a Melaleuca customer and a business builder working with the company, not for it. This is my story:

In September of 2006, my son started getting sick. Constant runny nose, ear infections, sinus infections, bronchitis, etc. I was taking him to the doctor's office 2-3 times a month, sometimes a week. It was extremely stressful, exhausting, and hard on me because I had no idea what the cause was so I had no idea how to combat it. The pediatrician finally referred us to an asthma and allergy specialist and after months of me begging, a referral to an ear, nose & throat specialist as well. In December of 2007, he was finally diagnosed w/ allergies to dust, pet dander, and pollen, as well as asthma. He also ended up having surgery to have his adenoids removed in March of 2008.

Right after his allergy diagnosis, I started doing research on products that were safer and could help me lessen my son's exposure to the irritants and allergens. I found out that tea tree oil(aka melaleuca) kills dust mites. A little light bulb went off in my head when I read the word "Melaleuca" and had just saw an ad at a CafeMom group for a work at home business opportunity w/ a team of Moms. I messaged the woman because back in 2004 I had signed up w/ a team of moms and had recalled that they worked w/ Melaleuca, so I asked her if that was the case and when she told me yes, I immediately had her sign me back up.

It has been a little over a year since I have started using their products again and I have no regrets. My son had been on all sorts of meds for 2 years, including inhalers and nebs for his asthma. Since switching back to Melaleuca's products, my son has been off his allergy meds and and is now down to just his inhaler - as needed. He has not had to go see his docs for any symptoms related to his allergies or asthma other than just normal check-ups. Not to mention that our skin is no longer itching all the time from the irritation of all the harsh chemicals contained in other cleaners that are not in Melaleuca's products.

So you say you have proof that they have poisoned people, caused allergic reactions, etc, where is it? All I see is a bunch of ranting and no links to any such information. As far as poisoning, I've never had nor heard about any horrifying experiences. As far as allergies, people have allergies to all sorts of things such as Pine-Sol. Love the smell, but I can not breathe when I get near the stuff and I start sneezing and wheezing. Do you see me on here saying that the company that makes it has caused that and that others should not buy it? Nope, I just choose not to use it in my house. Not every person is going to react the same way to certain products. Do I think that people could have sensativities to Melaleuca products? Certainly, but the company itself did not inflict that upon that person nor is that their intention. What I see is an ex-customer who realized that he/she wasn't going to become rich overnight and actually had to work to make the money instead of sitting on their behinds and letting others do it for them. Someone who definitely had unrealistic expectations about what the company could do for them.

Newsflash people, no job/business is ever going to hand you money unless you've worked for it and you aren't going to become a millionaire overnight either, just ask Donald trump. It takes work, time and patience to make money in any business.

As far as their products improving my life and needing a doctor's note to prove it, I do not need one. I have all the proof I need from my own personal experience and from my son's.

Have a blessed Day!!!

I have been a consumer for 20 years and these products are wonderful!

AUTHOR: Linda - (U.S.A.)

First of all - the gentleman who expressed his thoughts could not even spell. Why would anyone want to take his word for a company that has been in existence for 24 years, an Inc 500 , Hall of Fame company, and has customers that have been loyal customers for 24 years not missing one month of ordering. He does not even tell where he got his information about poisoning.

My grandson ate our automatic dish soap and had no problem with it. Children who get into Electrosol and Cascade would die or have terrible health problems.

Our products are safe; they costs less than what is in the market place; and they are delivered to us. We have saved money;we have increased our health by using the products; and close to 1 out of 2 customers get a profit sharing check each month for sharing this company with others. Tell me any other store that will do all of that. If anyone has problems with this company they have not read the ordering procedures. They can ask to talk with their Regional Manager and I have never seen a problem not get resolved. If a person has a problem and they get someone that is brand new they would have problems with any company.

I love this business as all my friends do who are in this business and we are in this business as life long customers. By the way we can fax in our termination and get out faster than we can get in. We are in this because of the products. They are amazing and they cost less. It has been a Godsend to thousands of families.

My family has used Melaleuca products for 18 years. My husband is allergic to the brands in the store. Bar soap, laundry detergent anything touching his skin will break out from that crap.

However, Melaleuca has been the saving grace for him. Anytime I have run out, which is rare, and I go to the store to buy detergent, he breaks out in a rash. On the other hand, people might be allergic to the Melaleuca plant itself. I mean peanuts are great but they kill some people.

So just because you have had what you consider a bad experience, hundreds of thousands of people have not. The answer is find something you like but don't project all this bad stuff on Melaleuca. I don't believe it tries to be everyone's company but the products are quality and have been great for us.

And the laundry detergent. 17 loads of laundry for every half cup of detergent. I think some people try to use it like regular laundry detergent and that is just ignorance. Your sponsor should have told you the way to use it. It is such a value!

Full disclosure is best here

AUTHOR: Krb - (U.S.A.)

Being in the health profession, I have to agree with the originator that there is documentation on these products adverse reactions. However, the originator seems to fog the issue in that it is reported that only Melealeuca is found. In truth, every vitamin supplement that is not readily removed by urinary relief will infact become toxic with allergic, toxic, and even fatal results. Any vitamin supplementation should be cleared with a family physician. No product should be purchased or used consistently without serial blood labs to make sure no levels of any supplementations is elevated.

Now as for the product mentioned, particularly the vitamins, I use them consistently with no adverse reactions. My cholesterol is great, prostate great, eyes a little weak but i am almost 50. The one thing my doctor cannot explain is the regrowth of hair around my ankles or the lessening of gray in my hair. I have had no stress relieving factors in my life. My blood pressure dropped 20 points on both ends, and after taking these vitamins I have lost 70+ pounds due to loss of cravings as my body had necessary nutrients it needed found in foods one might find yourself craving.

I am not in the business. I do not like selling or 'helping' as some put it. However, I wish anyone involved with traumatic experiences luck. I also hope their views on holistic medicine, yes medicine...please check all definitions please..., become better informed and less one-sided. There are more documented cases of healing and obvious improvement of health with vitamins, minerals, and uses of herbs than there are current documented cases of tragic effect.

Melaleuca

AUTHOR: Lee - (Canada)

I was wooed by Melaleuca but didn't take the bait because I will not work for an MLM. I know that most people who love their products will beg to differ.

But it looks like a duck, has beaks, and feathers, and yet you claim it's not a duck.

I've had the Nikken scam, and the Primerica scam attempted on me. All it did was weird me out. Nikken reminded me of Melaluca- you recruit people in order to sell their healthy products. It's all about the downline, or upline.

Primerica was cheesy. They somehow got my number from a career convention where I submitted my resume. They tried to say they offer a two day "free" (yeah right) financial training course. Talk to someone who works in the real financial industry and requires much more than a two day course. When I refused to pay they tried to pressure me which completely pissed me off, and made me walk out.

I still do not fully understand MLM, but I don't like it. I wouldn't choose to do it because it's like Amway, and no matter what product you sell- it's cheesy, and usually deceptive.

If I'm going to choose to work from home I'm going to choose to work for myself, and myself only. I am responsible for my work, and where the money goes, and what gets done. period. No intricate networking, or downlines or uplines. No dancing on the backs of newcomers into the company.

I'm sorry for those who got suckered into it. But it is your responsibility to educate yourself and make informed decisions as much as it is the responsibility of those working for MLM to be responsible, honest reps. If you can't be honest then, why do it?

My Wonderful 8 year Melaleuca experience

AUTHOR: Mike. R. - (Canada)

I have been a Melaleuca customer since 2001, ( almost eight years ).

Melaleuca produces appx. 400 products from several different product divisions.

I have found Melaleuca products to be superior in almost every way. It doesn't matter if it is the laundry and cleaning line, personal care line, cosmetics, pharmacy line or nutrition line. My friends, family and myself have found Melaleuca products to be exceptional. They are of the highest quality are more cost effective, environmentally safe and they don't make me sick with chemical fumes and residue.

Does that mean that everyone should use Melaleuca products? In some cases it may be that some people have allergies to any companies products and that includes Melaleuca products. But I can tell you that the risks are far greater if you use toxic products from the stores or if you use the many drugs that are on the market that are being recalled.

You may want to devote some time to researching the thousands of consumer studies and news programs that have exposed the true nature of what consumers are being sold by the major household and personal care product producers. No names mentioned but thousands of store bought products have been shown to include proven carcinogens as well as numerous other health concerns. In fact thousands of chemicals are being used in household products that have never been tested for human toxicity. Check it out and then ask yourself, "how is this possible?"

On the other hand myself and several million other Melauca customers have found that Melaleuca products are produced with the safest ingredients known. What is truly amazing is that Melalueca products work without all the harsh ingredients.

I have personally introduced Melaleuca products to many of my personal friends and family. About 75 of these became customers themselves and purchase their products on line from the company just as I do. My own children and grandchildren have used Melaleuca products for years and I am very happy that they do.

Melaleuca the company and it's employees bend over backwards to satisfy any and all service issues when and if they occur and they do this with no questions asked. Talk about customer service. I would never substitute any other products for that which Melaleuca produces.

If people ever have a problem, I have found that in 99% of the cases they don't take the time to read and understand their customer agreement and they don't listen, that's all.

If you can find things wrong with this great company Melaleuca, then I suppose nothing would ever make you happy.

A very, very satisfied Melaleuca customer since 2001. Mike R.

All Good

I am not a member of this company but have been approached to join and am doing my research. This thread helps in many ways and I do believe this is a good company.

But I would like to say it is an MLM. But there is nothing wrong with that as someone once said to me would you rather the larger corporations get the 30% mark up or 6 or 7 people from where you live?

This has to be an MLM as there are multi levels and there is marketing involved. This is just a fantasticly developed scheme as it rewards people for helping different levels suceed.

I must agree thought it would be nice if the level per month was reduced in New Zealand it is about $110 per month and would do alot better at $60 a month minimum.

The company looks good and with hard work you can do well. With 3 month money back guarentee who can lose?

Melaleuca Customer for over five years now

AUTHOR: Maria - (U.S.A.)

I have already been a customer for over five years now and I am very, very satisfied. I have also helped many, many people switch stores as well and have gotten many "thank yous". I have also had some people cancel their memberships as well - this is their decision as they are all adults. I can say that those who cancel their memberships typically have not really tried the products yet, have not done their own personal research on the company and/or simply didn't really give it a try.

Melaleuca is a great company. I cannot even begin to try and explain all the many ways they are exceptional. I also don't want to get involved in the "argument" with those that I can tell have not really done their own research. It's so important to do your own research on EVERYTHING!

I used to have severe migraine headaches. Shortly after I switched stores I quit having them as often. I used to have them about 3 or 4 times per month (since I was about 8). Now I have a migraine only about once every 6 months and I get regular head aches now only during "that time of the month". :)

My husband used to have really bad pains in his legs (joints). He told me he no longer has that since he began taking the vitamins. He also used to complain of pain when he would urinate. He has told me that the pain is much, much less since he started taking a supplement Melaleuca offers for prostate health.

My daughter accidentally sprayed the all purpose cleaner in my cup of water one time and, not knowing, I took a great big sip of it. I hate to think of what would have happened had that been some other household cleaner from some other company. It sure didn't taste as good as it smells though!!

One thing I do want to comment on is the 35 product point "requirement". Melaleuca gives us (preferred customers) so many benefits for just simply switching stores - convenient "ship to door" delivery, better quality, healthier products, less expensive per use, automatic rebates (free products), and so much more.... and the one thing they ask in return is that we are loyal customers. They "ask" this by asking us to set up our membership with them and buy at least "35 PPts" each month from them. Well, we are not buying "points". It's simply the same types of products we were buying way before we ever even heard of Melaleuca.

In over five years of shopping with Melaleuca I have NEVER bought anything I do not need/want. My family (4 people) orders more like an average of about 120 points per month. I do not "point shop". I buy what I need and sometimes I can also afford in my monthly budget to just get something I want (like age defying creams! - which I normally get with my "Advantage dollars" so it's free!).

Bottom line, if you think you do not use that much then just give it a try - really give it a try. Switch stores completely, commit to buy only Melaleuca products for 6 months. I know you will see that you do use that much. This is because we don't buy the same things each month. I don't use $50 of cleaning products a month!! That is hilarious! I do clean.. but not that much! However, I do need other things... some things every month and some things only every few months.

Melaleuca makes nearly 400 products... most of which every household needs... and some that are luxury items you can get if you want them.

If a person truly switches stores (If Melaleuca makes it you get it from them)... then doing your household shopping with Melaleuca is simple and you will not even need to pay attention to the product points associated with the products. The points are only there to be used to calculate commissions since Melaleuca Marketing Executives are in so many different countries (different currencies).

Melaleuca is a great company and I really hope that if you are here to check it out that you will do your own research on the ingredients, the patents, the awards won by both the company and the CEO/Owner, the business model, etc. - not just listen to the comments of others whether good or bad.

If you want more info or have any other questions please feel free to email me or contact the person who thoughtfully shared Melaleuca with you in the first place.

Take Care!

First off, do you know before having an allergic reaction to something that your allergic?

AUTHOR: Terry & Cynthia - (U.S.A.)

I have used Melaleuca products since 1992. I personally have never had a problem with any of the products, but I don't have any allergic reactions to anything but morphine. I didn't know I would have a reaction to that until I was on the operating table having a c-section. Is that the doctors fault, or it is just something that happens sometimes? I have a family member that can not use any of the Melaleuca products that contain the tea tree oil, they do use the vitamins and other products. But they educate themselves and READ labels, just as they do when the shop at retail stores.

My son can't drink milk any more, but he use to be able to. So who am I to blame for his new allergic reaction, the dairy farmers, the cows or just understand that every time you point a finger you have four pointing back at you. Come on, be responsible to your self. It is sad if you have an allergic reaction and you can't get medical attention quickly enough. I am sorry for those that have had loss of loved one due to any allergic reaction. But sometimes, most the time life happens no matter what we do or who we blame.

Please educate yourself

AUTHOR: Deborah - (U.S.A.)

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez
this is the link of all the Melaleuca poisoning, thats 3 total poisonings, and only one of which is possibly due to a Melaleuca product. Melaleuca is a tree, and there are many companies that use tee tree oil, so to say it is undoubtedly a Melaleuca product is presumptuous. Please bear in mind that no one had died or had any longterm problems as a result to the poisonings. I don't know why anyone would tell you that you can drink these products, but in the event that someone does, you can be sure they will survive it.

I love these products because I know that when I apply my lipstick or put on my makeup, that I'm not poisoning myself with lead or any carcinogens, or anything else harmful that may not show up for years.

If you want to be mad at companies that lie, you should ultimately be mad at the FDA for approving poisonous products, because they are not looking out for our health, but they are looking out for there own bank accounts,(because why else would they approve such harmful products?) and secondly, the corporations make all the harmful products that are out on the store shelves. You should go into your bathroom and look at all the ingredients(poisons) that are in your shampoo, conditioner, lotions, cosmetics, and so on. Then go to this website and see how all the items that you clean, moisturize, and apply to your body on a daily basis can ultimately kill you, by causing cancer and/or other diseases.
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php?nothanks=1

Educate yourself--I'm not saying you need to purchase Melaleuca Products, but make informed decisions, and take on a real cause, like why does Johnson & Johnsons Put Q-15(formaldehyde) a known carcinogen, in baby shampoo. I mean babies are so vulnerable to such harmful chemicals. Well, I know the answer to that! they do it so their product will have a longer shelf life. Wow your child's life, for a longer shelf life of shampoo! Amazing you can't find a better cause, or maybe you can?

Well I hope this sees you well, and If you want to pay $1 at the dollar store for various products, be sure that these products contain some very dangerous ingredients, ingredients that will kill if ingested, including your moisturizer, shapmoo, conditioner, even your makeup. Please, don't fall for the lies that the big corporations tell.

Why not direct sell on ebay? or via website

AUTHOR: Monifa - (U.S.A.)

I think that this question is self-evident. You say that having a CDM structure is money grubbing for those on top. You do realize that if they aren't making the money only the CEO or board on top are making ALL the money. Like every other large company Melaleuca would be making multiple times more a year and would benefit greatly by doing such a thing. They choose to divide the revenue among their loyal customers. If you don't want that share, that's your business. But don't fault Melaleuca because it's not a good idea to you. Melaleuca MAKES SURE that those that have built businesses and those that shop with them loyally get 50% of the revenue of the company. When's the last time Oxiclean sent you a check?

Bottom line people.

AUTHOR: Vc - (U.S.A.)

After reading numerous posts I've come to one conclusion. Melaleuca products might be superb, but their business practices apparently suck.

My question, why doesn't the company just do plan old direct marketing? Why the MLM, and even reps on the net admit it is an MLM. Despite the name CDM, if it quacks, it's a duck. Sell in stores, sell on the web, hell even charge the preferred customer fee, but why the forced monthly product purchase for marketers, if they really want to improve lives help those people open Melaleuca outlets, or sell from their own websites and make a straight commission on sales like any clerk at a department store? I don't get the point behind the "CDM" marketing scheme if the product is so superior!! Can someone explain to me how this is the superior way to sell such a "so claimed" superior product? Of course, unless those on top are truly money hungry.

To Those Doubting Melaleuca

AUTHOR: Christinat - (U.S.A.)

I am not going to join into the childish fighting

I will however tell you that Melaleuca IS NOT an MLM is NOT Toxic BUT DOES still have items that SOME will be allergic to.

I have 3 boys ages 5, 3 and 2.

My YOUNGEST when he was ONLY 18 months old got into my FULL STRENGTH BOTTLE OF Tub-N-Tile and drank some before we could stop him.

I IMMEDIATELY called poison control (because I did NOT want to risk him harm) and told them what had happened and they told me to calm down because my son was going to be JUST fine to keep an eye on him to make sure he did not throw up whole laying down or anything like that and to be prepared to change lots of runny diapers for the next 12-48 hours.

He NEVER threw up. he had the runs for 6 hours and that was IT.

They called me back the next day to make sure he was doing ok still and I told them that he was himself again (because he had been a bit drowsy after drinking it).

I then asked her that IF it had been the scrubbing bubbles that I USED to use (about 10 months before hand) what would have happened.

She told me that IF it had been scrubbing bubbles and it been the same amount that he would have had to be rushed to the ER had his stomach pumped and then admitted for observation because many children that drink even a small amount of it at that young end up dying or having severe brain injuries or severe injuries to their digestive track..

Unrelated to my sons experience.

I have SEVERELY sensitive skin. I can NOT use MOST forms of soap, shampoo, laundry soap etc without breaking out in hives, swelling up etc.

I have NEVER had ONE negative experience with ANY of the Melaleuca products.

I have used probably about 1/3rd of the products that they produce so far.

and NOTHING bad to say!

I have been getting a $20 check for the last year JUST for sharing my experiences with people here and there and the few who wanted to try them themselves.

I am NOW starting to get serious to find MANY people who want and need the products like I did.

I NEVER tell people anything BUT my experiences and I share with them the background information about how the company got started WHO Frank Vandersloot is and what MY personal mission is.

SOME people do mis-represent the company.

SOME people do say you can make a lot of money fast.

The TRUTH is that if you WANT the money FAST you better prepare to button down the hatches and work your a** off to get there fast.

Now for me ANYONE that wants to make the money quickly I would do whatever I could to support them and help them get where they want to be.

I have one girl right now she wants to get up to $1,000 a month so I am doing EVERYTHING in my power to help her.

and of course by helping her I too will benefit a bit but for me I am with Melaleuca BECAUSE of the AMAZING products and the fact that it allows me to do what my mom raised me to do...

Help People. that is the very essence of who I am and with Melaleuca I can help others and at the very same time help myself.

Those of you who don't get that you never will because it just ISN'T part of WHO you are. and in all honesty I feel bad for those of you who don't get it because you don't know what your missing out on.

Scams DO NOT Receive Prestigious Awards

AUTHOR: Enimary - (U.S.A.)

For a company to receive the Environmental Excellence Award for 2003, the Better Business Bureau Hall of Fame Award for 2005 and be the only business of it's kind in the hall of fame, and this past July the Salvation Army's Highest Award for 2007, listed in the Inc 500 magazine 5-years straight. I don't think anything else needs to be said about this company, except it is a company of high integrity.

I recently did a comparison of price of products on sale at the $ store and I found even when you factor in the shipping and handling and you can receive 10% back on your purchase our products are less expensive. Of course, if you look at the cost of the concentrated bottle, you have to remember it makes 4 bottles diluted and the shipping is minimal.

How many times have you ordered from a company where your s/h is more than the product you purchased? Check out the infomercials, the s/h can be almost as much as $15 to $20 or more, sometimes half the price of the product. I have never paid that much for my products even with a bottle of heavy laundry detergent. My s/h normally runs between $5.25 for a small order or $10.85 for a large order and I have a chance to get 10% of the smaller or 15% of the larger depending on when I place my order. So my s/h is very little.

By riding our homes of toxic products we have had too many people become healthier by using these products.

You have a chance to generate an additional income and as far as the low man on the totem poll making $2, evidently you looked at some other site, because that is not the least and as far as I know, our incomes are published in our monthly magazines we receive and not on the internet.

I Don't Think You Know What You're Talking About

AUTHOR: Noureen - (U.S.A.)

Melaleuca is a good company. I am a health professional and love their Dental Pak. I've ordered their products for my children and am 100% comfortable letting them use Melaleuca's products. Its better than all the harsh shampoos and deodorants that are available at drug stores.

I don't mean to be offensive. I, however, doubt the validity of your complaint. First of all, the grammatical mistakes and the misspellings do not give your complaint much credence. In order to be taken seriously, I suggest that you use spell check before submitting your complaint.

Secondly, most of the complaints against Melaleuca are from Idaho Falls, Idaho. What's up with that? Sounds a little fishy to me.

If Melaleuca was such a terrible company, then why aren't there any complaints from all 50 states? Why is it that most of the complaints are from Idaho? That's another reason I feel that these complaints are not legitimate.

If only Melaleuca could find out who you are and file a libel suit against you . . .

Melaleuca, The Wellness Company

AUTHOR: Jade - (U.S.A.)

I've read this entire thread on this company (complaints as well as compliments) as a best friend of mine almost got into this, now she's just a customer thank God! I have tried to research the ingredients on this products company but can't find out much about it. I did find something back from 2002 (and NOTHING listed current for ingredients). Here's the link

thegreenguide.com/doc/ask/melaleuca

Notice that they have been trying for a decade to find out what the ingredients are from Melaleuca, but no luck. And that some of the products have fluorescent colors; that is not known how this is achieved as those glows cannot be achieved with natural ingredients! Have any of the employee's or consumers ever tried to find out what is actually IN the list of ingredients? The Melaleuca company has not allowed a reputable organization to investigate, or test and endorse their products. Why is that? Since they have been in business for a long time now, (I am 41 and have NEVER heard of them). Melaleuca is also listed on the list of PETA's list of companies that DO test their products ingredients on animals. (Yes, so do the makers of oxiclean, just trying to show Melaleuca is not without it's faults).

caringconsumer.com/pdfs/companiesDoTest.pdf I

tried to go to the Melaleuca website and get the nutrition info on their protein bars as I had weight loss surgery (4 months post op) and want to know how much protein, carbs and sugar is in them, and nothing. Just states there are vitmins, minerals, protein etc. I do a google search for the ingredients list for Oxiclean (which I use the powder and love as it too is concentrated, is cheaper than Melaleuca products, lasts a very long time, and I can use it on carpeting, as a laundry detergent, stains on counters, toilet bowl cleaner, furniture cleaner, floor cleaner etc, however you can't do that with Melaleuca products) and ya'll ready for their list of ingredients? The main ingredients in oxiclean are sodium percarbonate, soda ash and some cute little blue grains. (patetented so we don't know what that is, however they state on their website that 'The blue crystals in OxiClean are soil-dispersing agents that help the soil disperse (spread out) in water. This helps remove soil & stains more easily.'). It is also safe for the environment, odorless, contains no toxic chemicals, cleaning solvents, or harmful abrasives. It will not harm our lakes, streams, plants or trees. After use, it breaks down into water, oxygen, and soda ash. Are Melaleuca products safe for the environment? And the best thing yet, there are 2 of us in my household.

My 13 year old daughter (who acts like a tomboy and gets the volcanic ash/Georgia dirt all over her clothes and oxiclean gets it out). I only pay between $2-$9 depending on what size I get of the powder, and I didn't have to sign an agreement to purchase a minimum amount each month as I don't have to get it each month! Oxiclean is not an MLM or a CDA. No, I have not purchased any of the Melaleuca products, but my best friend has, and she praises it. I just got off the phone with my best friend and she stated there is no list of ingredients on the back of the products, nor was there any listing of ingredients after she signed into her web customer account. I find that quite odd as every other company in this entire world that I've ever seen HAS a list of ingredients on their products! I'm wondering at this point, why they don't have to list their ingredients, and they have apparently never been reported to the FDA?!?! I am just doing some more research as I am attemtping to be "green" and go as organic as possible.

I am also looking out for my best friend and her family. Hopefully someone can get me the ingredients, answer my other questions, and address my other concerns. I am not trying to be a witch here, just trying to get some answers since the company doesn't seem to want to tell the public or allow their ingredients to become public knowledge. Thanx everyone, have a great day and God Bless!

I am an employee of a branch of Melaleuca

AUTHOR: S. Garofono - (U.S.A.)

I work for a branch of Melaleuca who does advertise and enroll people under Melaleuca. I understand every single person on here who has had their issues. And even though I never experienced any of them with Melaleuca, I have with other companies in the past. I cannot believe though that there are actually people out there who do the same thing with Melaleuca as I do and pressure people or forge their names just to earn a small commission! Thats outrageous for any person to ever do that to anyone. Even though I do not speak for Melaleuca, I do speak for myself as a mother how very sorry I am that anyone ever tried to force any of you to do something you did not want to do or wanted to research first. I was a single mother living paycheck to paycheck and couldn't imagine someone trying to pressure me into giving them money when I was unsure just to benefit themselves. Melaleuca does allow numerous companies, such as the one I work with, to enlist people to use their products, so this could be where a lot of uneducated in the business come in. We do earn a small commission each month when we enroll you as a customer or business member. But it sounds like a lot of people who get enrolled are just out to make a quick paycheck instead of telling you the truth or allowing you to take your time. I hate to say it, but if anyone starts to pressure you, hang up on them. Don't let them do that to you.

I have used numerous of their products, which I love. But in fairness, we do let the people we speak with know that the products, even though made without harsh chemicals, can cause allergic reactions. At least I know the group I work with lets people know that. But honestly, anything can cause allergic reactions. Just because you might not have had issues with store bought toothpaste doesn't mean you automatically would be ok with an ordered one. Keep in mind that these are products made with different chemicals, so there might be something that affects you the wrong way. I am sorry if that offends anyone, but its true. All my life I never had an allergic reaction. I do all of my cooking with Olive Oil. About a month ago I tried the Smart Oil, which is basically the same, just a healthier alternative. I had an allergic reaction to it and broke out in hives all over my body in a matter of minutes. Its just something in their ingredients that unfortunately my body disagrees with. Just like some of Melaleuca's products. However, I do highly believe that Melaleuca should have done more than offer you another tube of their toothpaste. Maybe not paying the medical bills, but at least offering you a full refund on any of the products you no longer wished to have. Just keep in mind its not poison. Its just an ingredient that you didn't know of that didn't agree with your child. Just go over all of the ingredients and have your child's doctor do blood tests to find out which she is allergic to. That way you know to not buy anything, either store bought or from Melaleuca, that contains that ingredient. But I am very sorry that event did occur.

Just please, I hope all of you can be firm on your ground when someone tries to pressure you. As for the mother and daughter who forged a name, I would really take matters into my own hands rather than unknowingly wait for Melaleuca to punish them. Look into a lawyer and sue. You can get their earnings, plus extra for forgery.

Good luck to everyone!

Thank you Melaleuca

AUTHOR: Mamabair - (U.S.A.)

As a customer of Melaleuca, I can tell you the products I have tried are marvelous! I can now clean my bathroom with Tub and Tile, without having to breathe the caustic fumes of other products, and find that the hard water stains and soap scum are removed just as easy. I even let it sit for a few, and the hard water accumulation comes right off!

I suffer from migrains, and Melaleuca's pain reliever CounterAct has relieved my headaches in 30 minutes, where Tylenol and Advil do not.

KNOWING that Sol-U-Gard has been scientifically tested, and kills Staph infection HIV, TB, and salmonella certainly eases my mind as a customer and user of these products. Not only does it make the air in my home smell fresh and clean, but I know it kills germs carried into the home by all of us. Febreeze makes my house smell good, but it doesn't kill the germs. Lysol only kills germs on surfaces, not in the air, Sol-U-Guard.

My daughter also has two stains on her front teeth from braces. The whitening toothpaste is gently taking those stains away. They are today much lighter than before. I wish I had before and after pictures I could post!!

I could go on and on about their products. After being a customer, I have now become a Marketing Representative. Is it a get rich quick scheme? Nope, nothing about it is is quick. It takes hard work, dedication, and knowledge about the products.

The knowledge of their products comes from studying, reading and using.

I have seen the word assume broken down, and it seems to me that there are several assumptions being made without the knowledge needed to make informed choices and decisions about their products.

Thank you Melaleuca for making my life a bit easier by being able to shop on line, as well as trust your products in my home. At least you tell me what is in your products. Remember folks, cleaning products do not have to tell you what is in the product, whether harmful or not, all they have to show you is that they are dangerous when ingested or get into your eye.

Do you really KNOW what is in the products you use in your home? I do, because I shop at Melaleuca!!

Melaleuca: A great company to shop with AND work for! Idaho Falls, ID Idaho

AUTHOR: Lisa - (U.S.A.)

After reading several of the so called "complaints" on here, I simply had to set the record straight. I have been part of this company, both as a customer and as a Marketing Executive, for nearly a year and I could not be happier.
The products are of the utmost quality, their customer service is absolutely top notch, and their business formula can't be beat.

I'm tired of hearing people bash a company that has done nothing in the last 11 months except help and support me to reach my financial goals. Even if I decided tomorrow to no longer work as an independent marketing executive for them, there is no doubt in my mind that I would remain a customer. But the question is why wouldn't I remain as a marketing executive? Who wouldnt want to make a few hundred extra dollars each month to work 12 hours a week from home? And the best part is I make my income by sharing wonderful products with people who can use them everyday.

I suspect most of the "complaints" here are from people who want "the get rich quick" scheme to be true. I can tell you they are not. When you want something bad enough you have to WORK for it! Before whining and complaining about "what a company did to you" ask yourself, "Have others had the same experience?" I mean beyond a handful? What does the Better Business Burea have to say? Get all the facts before crying foul because I can attest to anyone who asks: This is a great company!

Adult Accountability and Responsibility-regardless of company affiliation: Mary Kay, Quikstar(Amway), Avon, Melaleuca; time to step up

AUTHOR: Happy Business Builder - (U.S.A.)

Adult Accountability and Responsibility-regardless of company affiliation: Mary Kay, Quikstar(Amway), Avon, Melaleuca; time to step up

I am going to share my experiences with Melaleuca that I have had so far and then reply to some of the things I have seen posted here.

1. My first order was lost and I contacted customer service to let them know I had not yet received it after 9 days. I live in Hawaii so I gave it extra time to get to me. Upon contacting customer service, without any hassle, they immediately reshipped my order, AT NO COST TO ME, sent it 2nd day air and I had it by the weekend.

2. Our youngest daughter and I have very sensitive skin and discovered we were having some sort of allergic reaction to some thing and it had only started when we were using the MelaPower (Laundry soap). We were breaking out in hives, but only in areas in which our clothes touched. Again, us living in Hawaii, we spend most of our time wearing shorts and tank tops; so we were blotchy only in the areas that the shorts and tank tops touched. I immediately called Customer Service, and again, without hesitation, at NO COST to me, a bottle of the perfume free MelaPower was shipped to me 2nd day Air. My foolish part was still using the amount of store brand product which was the true reason for the reaction, not the product itself. I was like a kid in a candy store and forget when doing my laundry that I was using a concentrated liquid.

3. I placed my 3rd order, ordered the Eco-Sense Home Conversion pack; have used the proper amounts, re-washed all laundry previously washed and am happy to report we have had no further instances of reactions and was able to relay this information to customer service with much satisfaction.
a. how many of you can go to your local store and get a refund on a product that has already been opened due an allergic reaction much less a refund?
b. how many of you can get your product replaced if you leave it in a shopping cart outside after you have paid for it?
c. how many of you can have your item replaced if somehow you lose it between the time you leave the store and your home?

NOW to address a few situations I have seen posted here:

a. To anyone who is checking this site to find out more information before considering Melaleuca, and whatever team they may have been introduced to before making your decision, whether it be as a customer or business builder I invite you to at least become a customer, try the products, and see if at least, your family and household are living in a safer, and cleaner environment with more natural products, and the savings you are making on having to buy fewer products (IN my opinion, products in the eco-sense conversion pack pay for themselves by the 2nd bottle ). If you are a prospective business builder, you can also take it slow as a customer, build your base and see what type of people you have met, and if you don't care for their business ethics, there is nothing saying you have to do business with them, you can still have safer, healthier and more cost effective products in your home for you and your family.

b. I am a pre-law student and am doing this while I go to school. As a responsible adult and consumer, I take responsibility for my actions or failure thereof. If I sign a contract without reading it all the way through, I am still bound by the terms of the contract that I sign and agree to, even if I am not knowledgeable of all things in the contract/agreement. I read my customer agreement, as well as my Independent Marketing Executive Agreement and still signed because I understood fully what I as getting myself into.

c. To the individual who has a child that got into toothpaste, did you consider it to be an allergic reaction as mentioned by others? Not only that, but where were you when your child was consuming and smothering something on their skin that is not meant for consumption. While it is not a direct cleaning product, it is still meant for the cleaning of teeth and is not meant to be worn as a lotion or eaten. Would you allow your child to roam freely in a dentist office? No???? Why not??? Where is your accountability and responsibility in what happened to your child?

d. To those who complain about getting products they have no use for when receiving their back up order: Did you ever bother to check to see what you had listed for your back up order choice, or did you just assume it was the companies fault because you failed to meet the terms of your customer agreement, which is there in writing, whether you sign up online or in written form? Did you ever seek help in changing your back up order to something that would be more useful to you or your household so that if you should ever not place an order, your back up order would be something helpful to you?

e. To those who say money was taken out of
their account without them wanting the order: Did you write out a written statement which is clearly in the written form of your customer agreement to let Melaleuca know in letter by the 25th of the month, so you can have your account cancelled without any further orders or backup orders being sent to you? Or did you simply want to shift the blame for your own failure to be a responsible adult on to a company to make yourself look like a victim

f. To those who have had bad experiences with other teams, I do apologize that is the case. I have had a bad experience with the team/MLM group I was with when doing Amway. Does that make Amway (Quikstar) products or company bad? NO, it is PEOPLE, NOT PRODUCT. Not every group of individuals is the same, and not all individuals doing home based businesses have the same values and morals that others have. If you are truly unhappy with those you are under, then you need to see if there are others in the business, that you can work with. Not everyone is going to be a good personality match with your personality.

g. If you truly do not have a problem with the products manufactured by Melaleuca, and feel you were mislead by the person who signed you up or introduced you to Melaleuca, then your true complaint lies with them, not with Melaleuca, and therefore your complaints are unjustified and have no real merit.

h. Finally, it is time for people to step up and acknowledge, that everyone here making complaints has to be at least 18 (as required by Melaleuca) to become a customer. If you are unhappy because you found yourself in situations you say you were not aware of, you need to step up and acknowledge your own failures in completely reading your customer agreement form and taking the necessary steps as set out in that agreement. Do not pass the buck on to a company that has clearly set out the requirements for having preferred customer status, how to cancel your account and what to do if you need to change your back up order. Time to step up and take responsibility for your actions.

Where is Documantation of harmful effects

AUTHOR: Lois - (U.S.A.)

This person has referrred to documented harmful effects of ingredients of these products. WHAT is HIS documentation? I would like specific articles by an authority that is recognized..... not some hearsay or article read on the internet with questionable validity.
Also I have called the Poison Control about Melaleuca Oil (Tea Tree Oil)which is in many products and have not been given info that it is toxic.

I have used these products for seven years and have never found anything That is safer for the environment or works better for the cost.
I am also sick of people blaming others for a paper they signed and did not read!

The Melaleuca Shopping model is different from what most are used to but is wonderful time saving waY to shop and get safer products. The marketing executives I know.... when telling people about Melaleuca's unique plan.... always mention MONTHLY shopping

Call Poison Control

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

It is possible that yes, people are allergic to Melaleuca products. They do not claim hypo-allergenic. Some people are allergic to Melaleuca oil so obviously they could not use a lot of the products. However, call poison control and ask about fatalities from Melaleuca products and I bet you get NONE. Ask about fatalities from other household cleaning products such as dishwashing detergent etc. and I bet you get LOTS!

It is a given that some people are going to have allergies. If that is the case, Melaleuca backs their products with a 100% guarantee so if you can't use or don't like them then GET A REFUND!!

Melaleuca is a rip off

AUTHOR: Sheryl - (U.S.A.)

I was contacted about Melaleuca this past week - a co-workers wife makes "tons" of money doing this business. Great - but I'm not interested in yet another business......been there done that, heard all about these scams and you know what? They just dont pan out.

So I agree to see what they have for products. I'm not a friek when it comes to ogranics, but I have to admit, I have kids, and for all of them I use CLOTH diapers. So I talked to his wife - she states that it is 29.00 to "join" and then you have to order 35 points of product per month. What is that? And I dont even use that much in product. Yes I'm clean at home, but jeez - 40-50 a month for that stuff??

I use baking soda for alot of my cleaning, and last time I checked I don't spend 40-50 on boxes of baking soda. To mop? Water and a little tiny bit of cleaner I get from the natural food store. Just a tiny bit! I have a natural store by my house, and the products are not expensive at all. I don't even spend 20 a month buying products. I can't get over the fact that you have to pay 40-50 a month! Come on now!

So then I get to thinking - Melaleuca is not bad stuff. I agree that it is good product. But the business practices of charging 40-50 a month for a mandatory order - outrageous!

Then I think a little more - the lady that sells these products is such an advocate of not putting poisonous things in her body. But wait! She's got breast implants - last time I checked, those are not "natural". Or am I wrong? Isn't that a little ironic? If she is so concerned about her kids and chemicals, why the world does she use disposable diapers???

Come on people, if you're going to be such an "advocate" of natural remedies, and natural products, then that's fine, but it's an idiosyncracy to be an advocate and yet you walk around with your fake b***s hanging out of your shirt and disposable diapers are overflowing your trash can. Obviously you're not as passionate as you claim to be.

For all you stay at home mom's - it's fine to want to have a job and make money with a company that is "mom friendly" - but realistically, you can work. Yes you can. I do. And I have plenty of kids. Get a real job, get yourself out of the house, and quit making excuses for yourself, and most of all, stop trying to sucker people into your pyramid schemes.

Are we all adults?

AUTHOR: Kim - (U.S.A.)

First, I have to say I read through 3/4 of the bs on here, then quickly realized that there are some people who are miserable and are working to create more misery by stating ridiculous information as "facts".

Evon, William, and others . . . How old are you? My own children have been more responsible with how they represent themselves than you have. Facts are not bits of information you make up based on even smaller bits of inaccurate or inapplicable information. Facts are facts.

I have searched and searched. While there are some less than positive experiences, most of these have to do with the humans who sometimes make mistakes and happen to work for Melaleuca. Mistakes are like spelling errors. They ought to have been caught, but they weren't. So you do your best to fix mistakes (errors in how quickly something can be accomplished.)

I am affiliated with Melaleuca as a business person. I am NOT an employee. But there isn't a space here that mentions being affiliated with a business. And I have made mistakes. I have also worked to correct them. I've found the mistakes of others, as well, and worked with them as they worked to correct their errors.

I have done the research of EXACT ingredients of products, using the toxnet database. Another reminder, one has to pay attention to the EXACT ingredients because some are related or similar and the toxnet database may pull that up instead.

While some people will continue to act like toddlers, arguing over who can go down the slide next, I'm hoping that those connected with Melaleuca will rise above the "baiting" that is going on.

No one and no thing will have 100 percent acceptance, nor will it all be liked.

I love melaleuca. I haven't had asthma attacks while cleaning. The carpenter ants that have plagued us no longer come out of the walls unless the area hasn't been sprayed with Pre-Spot. (they don't like it...go figure.) There are products I won't use.

The hand gel I'm sensitive to, but then, I have a lot of allergies. I can use nearly all the products of Melaleuca without a problem. If you have problems, JUST DON'T USE IT!!! Many many more people love it and just aren't looking for ignorant people to argue with.

Now I've said my peace...you probably won't hear from me again because stating facts to some of the people here is obviously having a battle of intellect with an unarmed force.

Be well and always research your products. Then choose based on your own decision. I did, and Melaleluca won by a long shot. (that is how one becomes educated...but there are people who probably didn't do as much research as some of us. Don't condemn the company for the personal errors of others.

Evon and others...

AUTHOR: Bernie - (Japan)

Okay, it's been a LONG time since I bothered with this site, because basically I was fed-up to the back teeth of people like EVON and others, continously printing complete crap about Melaleuca!

They find snippets of information, twist it around and think they've got a full-house of cards in the game of Melaleuca Poker!

Well, here's a suggestion to all those bright sparks that have never even bought a single product from Melaleuca, yet seem to know so much about it:

Go to your local store, buy a bottle of cleaning fluid - like Ajax, or Vim, or whatever is in your store.

THEN, go to the Melaleuca website, and buy the alternative to that cleaner. (Don't worry, after you've done this little test, you can send it back for a 100% refund......the store will just laugh at you though!)

Okay, got your cleaners? Good, now get a teaspoon and pour the store brand cleaner onto the spoon, and put the spoon in your mouth, without swallowing the liquid. Leave it their just 5 seconds then take it out.

One week later, when you've been released from hospital for acute toxic poisoning, do the same with the Melaleuca cleaner.

Five minutes later, after you've brushed your mouth, make a cup of coffee, sit down in front of the TV and enjoy the rest of your day!

What hospital? Oh, didn't I mention? You won't need to seek medical treatment with Melaleuca's cleaner, because it's not going to burn your skin off, or kill you, or give you brain damage!

Okay, so the above example is a bit extreme, and I don't endorse anyone doing it EVER! I'm trying to make the point here, that ignoramuses like Evon (where's your old pal Morris?), can be talked to until your blue in the face, and they're just going to ignore the facts.

And as for the rest of you ignoramuses that state you have some facts that you found on the web etc, SHOW US THE LINKS!!!!!

Not a single person, man, woman or child, has ever died or been hospitalised indefinitely due to Melaleuca's products!

Every week, in the USA alone, over 5000 cases are dealt with, where someone's kid has swallowed something or other that shouldn't be in the house in the first place.

Kid got asthma? Change your washing liquid from that store brand to Melaleuca, and I guarantee that kid will be breathing a whole lot better!

My wife recently tried using a store brand powder, to try and see if there really was a difference after using Melaleuca for the last two years. Was there? Oh yeah! A BIG difference!

Itchy skin. 5 year old started coughing when he tried to sleep on his pillow, of which the case had been washed earlier that day in the powder.
Nausea from whatever chemicals were eminating from the clothes and sheets we used.

Headaches. Within a week, we got back on Melaleuca's MelaPower, and never a problem since.

I threw the powder into the waste heap on the compost pile in our garden. Two days later, it had burned a hole almost completely to the bottom of the pile! (3 feet high)

So, all you non-believers out there, and you're entitled to your opinion of course, but please base it on experience, not something you read. Even the positive experiences you read, take them lightly until you experience the products for yourself.

Don't get involved with a team like MomsWin if you feel they are dodgy. Do it by yourself and start your own team if you desire to do so.

But most of all, don't listen to people Evon who have absolutely ZERO experience of Melaleuca!

I won't be back here now until probably after christmas, because it's simply not worth my time trying to educate those that don't listen in the first place.

You be the judge - as Angie says. We're not selling you anything here, and each of us that loves using Melaleuca's products (and yeah, I know the monthly commitment thing sucks, but you can take it or leave it - most of us chose it, and we know what we were signing before hand, so we can't complain about that! - and think yourselves lucky anyway, in the USA it's only $50 a month, in my country it's closer to a $100!) uses the products because we've SEEN the difference they make. We've FELT the difference they make. We've SMELT the difference they make!

Try it, you've nothing to lose, not even money! :-)

You be the Judge

AUTHOR: George - (U.S.A.)

For all of us on this report, I'd like to say "Bravo"! Everyone has a right to be informed. Everyone has a right to complain and provide opinions, whether positive or negative. That is the beauty of being who we are! I can say I recently became a Preferred Customer, and have done. like others, countless hours of research on their products, services, the company, and the business model.

I've had the best dental exam ever since I was 12 using the tooth polish and mouthwash. My son's dry, cracking skin was completely cleared in 3 days using Renew; after years of trying to find a solid, non perscription product. (I could go on here...) So my family has received MANY benefits just by using their products. For 29$, it was money well spent.

However, I urge all who decide to make a negative comment, to try it out yourself! If your not satisified or don't feel as if you've experienced exceptional quality products and services at reasonable prices and the convenience of delivery right to your door, then feel free to return it all to Melaleuca and you will receive your money back! Then you can continue to shop in the crowded stores and long lines and make your own choices from the myriad of high and low quality products that sit on the shelves for who-knows how long.

Personally, the convenience, exceptional products and services, a president who cares about the "little guy", and the money back guarantees will keep me a preferred customer for years to come.

Don't Get Ripped OFF Save Money And Make Your Own

AUTHOR: Gwen - (U.S.A.)

I will make this short and sweet. I was a member of Stayin Home and Loving It, found that I was spending way more than I wanted to each month and not making any money. I did like most of the products and did like how it was safer for my family. So I looked up some sites on the computer that showed me how to make my own chemical free household products. Now I am saving tons of money, have safer products, and I am not being forced to spend a certain amount of money each month.

AUTHOR: Angie - (U.S.A.)

Evon,William,ect..........

Wal-Mart,Target,Sams,Krogers,ect......They pay one price to get their products and then they jack the price up to put it on the shelf and they figure shipping and handling in thier price. I know this for a fact,my husband was VP of purchasing for Wal-Mart for 9yrs and for Krogers 8yrs.409,bleach,glass cleaner, soap, and smoking all of these have toxic chemicals.

My husband also has a Master degree in Business management and Financing and he rates on the genius scale. He is backing me 100% on Melaleuca.

We have done price checking with Wal-Mart,Target,Krogers,ect....and there is NOT MUCH OF PRICE DIFFERENTS.

Your on a kick about Melaleuca is unsafe.
So geniuses look up all cleaners you use and look up hot dogs, people say that hot dogs cause cancer, and ect.. We all need to quit work and stop shopping at all these store because everything is bad for you then. Look up everything you buy and tell us what you find!!!!

Thanx to whomever posted the link to the 23 month old.

AUTHOR: Leticia - (U.S.A.)

After reading that I'm now wondering how do I buy (Not sign up to sell or anything else) just buy these products.

Because I have small children and even though I do lock up my cleaning supplies, it is very good to know that a commercial version (only bought and used by businesses, and trust me they all have a higher percentage of the active ingredients than the home versions, and are much worse. I had bleach burn my arm) and he was taken to the hospital and released the next day just fine.

I think that he was only kept due to his age and the fact that he had swallowed cleaning liquid. (as their would be no need for commercial face cream or something like that.)

DON'T WASTE ANY MORE TIME RESPONDING TO EVON

AUTHOR: Mj - (U.S.A.)

Hello everyone who loves Melaleuca products! I'm a very happy and VERY INFORMED Melaleuca,Inc. consumer and have been happily so for quite some time.

First of all, I did MY extensive research BEFORE I started purchasing products from Melaleuca, Inc. As we all know, there is a great deal of information out there online so you have to intelligently dicipher which is bogus and which is true ... and if you're not even utilizing the products and have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE, as it appears Evon does not have, there is no way to make an intelligent decision about this wonderful family-friendly company that has helped millions of families live better healthier lives and prosper, where they would normally not have had that opportunity.

Evon mainly is 'right fighting' about the ingredient melaleuca oil, which if you get from a not so great source without product or ingredient regulations, may not be the pure, high quality controlled one that the Melaleuca, Inc. corporation uses.

I can attest that these products have COMPLETELY 36O DEGREE TURNAROUND ... STOPPED IN IT'S TRACKS ... MY ECZEMA THAT I HAVE HAD SINCE I WAS 14 YEARS OLD! Before turning my home over to using all Melaleuca cleaning products, personal care products, bath products, personal care products, dental products, etc., I had gone to Dermatologist after dermatologist in hopes that the next one would have something that could help my hands not spontaneously split open and bleed from the eczema that was caused by contact dermatitis ... contact with something in my home environment that was causing the problem for all these years.

In fact, I am intelligent living proof that these products work! THEY SIMPLY AND TRUTHFULLY WORK. And I now know so many other people that have their own tried-and-true proof of the same.

Evon probably wants to continue using the poisonous products sold at the Dollar Store. LOOK WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT ... COMPARING DOLLAR STORE ITEMS with Melaleuca products which are in a different league all together! A DIFFERENT LEAGUE ALL TOGETHER!!!

If anyone has any questions or needs more info on these great products, contact someone who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND CAN SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE ... which really IS THE BEST TEACHER!

You just don't get it...and that's ok.

AUTHOR: Megan - (U.S.A.)

Hmmm, where to start? Well, first I will say I have been a customer and Marketing Executive with Melaleuca for the past 2 1/2 years. I adore the products and the company. I work with the Stayin Home and Lovin It team and love it as well. Oh yeah, I don't make a lot of money working my business, but I make enough.

Melaleuca Employee-these are the folks that are actually at the center in Idaho answering your customer care calls, taking your orders, and shipping the orders. The people that are promoting Melaleuca are NOT employees, but 1099 independent contractors. So when they say they are not an employee they are correct, they own their own business and work it from home.

BBB-yes go to the BBB and look at Melaleuca's record. It shines. Yes there are complaints, but Melaleuca strives to resolve all complaints to the customers satisfaction, but you will see that the BBB closed some of the cases because Melaleuca did the right thing and folks were still unhappy. Can you name a company that has been in business for over 20 years that does not get complaints? Real or imaginary? Also, you can google Melaleuca and read about all the awards it has recieved over the past 20+ years.

Frank L. Vandersloot-sole owner and operator of Melaleuca, he doesn't have a partner. Google his name and read about his awards and chair postitions.

Canceling an account with Melaleuca-a written letter is required by the 25th of each month to cancel an account. I have had people cancel their accounts and not one ever had a problem.

120 day money back garantee-if you don't cancel before 120 days you don't get your enrollment money back

Pryamid scheme and MLM-Melaleuca is neither one of these. Melaleuca has trademarked "Consumer direct Marketing" A pryamid scheme is illegal. Why? No product only money involved. Obviously, Melaleuca has a product. There is also a big difference between MLM and CSM. ONE is in an MLM they have what is called break-aways. This is when someone a person enrolls has a bigger organization than they do and they move up. Meaning the enroller doesn't get anymore income from his enrollee. Therefore people with smaller organizations make little money and the people with big ones move up to make money on those that enrolled them. Melaleuca does not have this. I have a girl right now that has a bigger oranization than I do, meaning she has enrolled more than I. She is still in my matrix and will never move. BIG difference there! I am not going to list all the other reasons. You can google that for yourself. My question to you is, how could an illegal company openly stay in business for 20+ years? My guess, it's not illegal.

income example at Melaleuca's website-is just that an example of one person's income and not of everyone on that matrix. The people at the bottom have their own matrix going down too. Could you imagine how long it would be if they put EVERYONE's matrix on there. Melaleuca pays down 7 levels from one person so why would they show 8, 9, or any other level down if they are showing the income of that ONE person?

As for the poisonings. If a child were to injest less than 10 mls of 409 they would more than likely die. If a child were to injest a few drops of bleach it would cause irreversable damage or they could die. If a child puts his finger into a puddle of dishwashing detergent they would have damage or they could die. The reports about Melaleuca Oil are not deaths, not even serious ailments or reports of irreversible damage. I am sticking with the Melaleuca products for the SAFETY of my family.

Melaleuca Oil-comes from melaleuca trees in Australia. Also known as tea tree oil used for hundreds of years as an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-irritaion. It has also been used in the past as an antibiotic before todays versions of antibiotics were discovered. Many different companys sell melaleuca oil, only one uses it for the name of its company also. Can you say all or any of those reports came from the Melaleuca company?

The Melaleuca Excutives in this thread are not lying or sugar coating anything, the truth speaks for itself.

Need I go on? Do you have any more questions? If so, post them here. Yes, I did my research before joining and throughout the course of my membership, I know what I am talking about.

If you had a bad experience with Melaleuca it probably had more to do with the executive you spoke with and not the company itself. For that I am sorry because Melaleuca has been nothing but wonderful for my family. Yes, I will admit some of the executives are not educated and trained effeciantly, but is that not common for any company?

Evons Outdated Report

AUTHOR: Lilly - (U.S.A.)

I am a current user of these products, and went to Evons link to see the complaints. They are from 1996!!!! Second it doesn't tell how severe the reactions were, look at all of the major copmanies listed in that catagorie. I do read label for everything i use in my life, and 2 items from Melaleuca have harsh warnings, the sol-u guard and tub and tile. Personally if you dont use a foaming sprayer with the tub cleaner it is very strong on the lungs, but, I no longer use a rescue inhaler either. All the good cleaners (mr. clean etc.) that I loved the scent of, are evidently why i needed the inhaler. I do save money because I buy the spring cleaning kit and it lasts a year!!! Any item can cause reactions if used in an inapropriate way or are mixed wrong.

Melaleuca is as great as I expected.

AUTHOR: Rosalyn - (Canada)

In response to Evon's messages, it seems you're the only one who doesn't like Melaleuca. You've probably had a bad experience of your own, but that doesn't make it bad company. Each individual is trained differently considering our training consists of simply using the product. And unless you've swallowed the MelaPower laundry detergent yourself, you wouldn't really know the consequences. But as with all products, natural or synthetic, allergies are inevitable. That has nothing to do with the product, and there is no claim that states that Melaleuca products are allrgy-proof. They simply reduce the likelihood of negative reactions since they are made with 100% natural products. Also, you don't get those blinding headaches when you clean your home with these products, as you would with, say, Vim or Herbal Essences. The theory, is that these negative reactions are caused by the strong chemicals used to create these products. Chemicals that are strongly toxic to many parts of your body. I only started promoting the product after using it myself to make sure that it was a worthwhile product to use. Not everything has completely won me over, but I do like the fact that I can safely clean my windows without having to evacuate the building first. As for the shipping and handling costs, that's mere pocket change compared to the gas you waste driving from store to store to pick up toothpaste, detergent, nutrition bars and sunscreen. If you're smart about it, you'll figure out all the things you need before you order, that way you only get charged once. And the products aren't any more expensive than what you'd find at Walmart, for example. Considering most products are highly concentrated, you actually get more than you see. Plus, you need so little of any of it in order for it to do the job. In actuality (yes, there was research conducted to figure this one out) you spend less on Melaleuca products than you do on the competition. Maybe if you do your research first, you'd know that. Now, I wouldn't start calling us Melaleuca users "uneducated". We do our homework, we use the products, we have continued to do so because they work, and they are cracked up to what we were told they were. If you're not happy with Melaleuca, the company, well, obviously, that's your problem. I'm happy! Especially with the business side of it. I can afford to quit my other job completely!

Laughing My Head Off

AUTHOR: Josefina - (U.S.A.)

I have been reading these posts all night, I have enrolled with the company off and on since 1992, I am a member again now. I cannot believe the read it and weep comments, sounds childish. If you want to run a great business, know your products is what I say.

I was re-enrolled recently, my "enroller" tried to talk to me quickly by my asking about Melaleuca. I told him to just get the forms and sign me up. I don't want to be an enroller for the company, I just love the products, sign me up as a level 1 and i'll do my 35 points. Little did I realize, that they now have 350 products to play with, I bought the career kit.

Darn am I glad, I just love the new stuff, only one I didn't like was the daily shower clean, maybe I need to read up on how to use it again. I bought the product book to know more about the new stuff and guess what, I've enrolled 2 new people this week. I wasn't even trying to.

I was telling them about the products how I just loved the stuff, and they enrolled and they love it too. How about that, now my family from Chicago is enrolling, trust me, I will be a great team leader, and mentor, i've been working with the homeless for 12 years and I like working with people and seeing them succeed. And I used my advantage dollars to buy myself a couple of snacks took them to work and people were taking my snacks and guess what, 2 more enrolled, hahahaha, I love it.

My accomplishments on my first month back, hubbie suffered from acid reflux spending about 1500 a year in doc appointments, Daily for life vitamins = acid reflux history (darn after 2 years of suffering) some doctor owes us a thousand dollars I think.. Daughter with rare skin disease for past 3 years, humm, rashes gone all month since using their skin lotion with a few drops of the poisonous melalueca oil T36C5. The oil took away her skin disease, it may not be gone, but it disappeared somewhere, maybe Evon or someone took it from her and put in their back pocket.

Me, well, I have an energy that I haven't felt since I had that gastric bypass operation, and I'm saving money, with their highly concentrated products, less trips to the Wally World just to listen to a bunch of profanity at the register, rude employees, and hour or two in line, Oh, and I have a BJ's card too, our BJ's store is even more expensive than wally world, paid membership, never use it = wasted dollars. What i've gained from Melalueca, A Smile on my husband and child's face for the first time in 2/3 years, saving gas on less trips to the market, products concentrated makes 4+ bottles saves $$$ and lesser allergies for me thank God, i'm allergic to everything.

And the products have produced an over all difference, I am an enroller, I train, educate and enroll, sorry i don't buy business kits, I don't tell people it's a get rich quick scheme, and I make sure people know about CDM loyalty. It's important, and Geeze, I'm new to the company, and I would never, ever tell someone to quit their job or who doesn't have a job to join, I tell them come back when they have a job and from their we will become partners in learning the business process. It makes people happy to know this! And beware of what you say, use words carefully, you don't want to give your own name as an enroller a bad reputation!

Deomonstration

AUTHOR: Sabrina - (U.S.A.)

When i first began using the products the safety was demonstrated by a couple of people drinking the cleaners to prove their safety. Thy drank a cap full. This doesnt mean it is safe to do repeatedly... you dont need a laundry soap cocktail for breakfast every morning... lol!

As far as safety goes, Melaleuca products are some of the safest on the market. If you learn about the differnt ingrediences and the amounts used in their products and compare them with ohter similiar products, you will see just how safe they are. If you don't know about them... you have not looked them up and learned about them.... then how can you deam them safe and unsafe based on ignorance.

Misinformation

AUTHOR: R - (U.S.A.)

>>>Quoting:
I was told by my leader when I started all the products if swallowed would not hurt the body however the only side effects would be a slight upset stomach, diarrhea and unpleasant taste at times. I dont want my kids even getting those symptoms so I'll just keep what I buy locked up high. Not like Tammy.
>>>(end quote)

Unfortunately, your "leader" was misled, and was misleading you. Just read the warnings on the back of the products. If they are there, they are there for a reason, and they are serious. Your instincts are right to keep these products out of reach of children.

That kind of misinformation is appalling, and it spreads, in part, because people want to believe it. Read Melaleuca's own written material and don't just take the word of someone who is a sales person as opposed to an experienced chemist or an official company communication such as information on the back of a product container warning of dangers if swallowed, etc.

Not for everyone unfortunatelyl

AUTHOR: Dina - (U.S.A.)

My only complaint with Melaleuca before I asked for my money back was that I felt this company was not on the side of single parents. The reason I say this is because of the costs to keep up as a preferred customer was just too much for me. As a single parent I realized that Melauleuca is a great business venture really only if you are married and your spouse is bringing in most of the income. I wish circumstances would have been as such for me so that I could stay on. Its like one of the previous comments says that you have to work hard which I completely agree with. The problem with that is there are people who I have spoken to who have worked very hard and nothing to show for it. They end up as I did without a penny to their name and have to back out because they can't afford it. I really did like the products but you know what a lot of the products that are over the counter today have been around for many decades. If there was concrete proof that these products were harmful to are healths then they would have already been removed or gone out of business because no one wants that product anymore. As for the woman who commented about cleaning products getting into the hands of children, what are you doing allowing your children to get a hold of anything non child related whether it be toxic or non-toxic? Your critizing an individual for choosing unsafe products as opposed to Melaleucas because they can get into childrens hands and potentially do great harm. As true as that is Im just wondering why you even allowed your child to be in reach of Melaleuca products or any products for that matter to begin with? All products regardless should be kept out of a childs reach period. I was told by my leader when I started all the products if swallowed would not hurt the body however the only side effects would be a slight upset stomach, diarrhea and unpleasant taste at times. I dont want my kids even getting those symptoms so I'll just keep what I buy locked up high. Not like Tammy.

Melaleuca research

AUTHOR: Delena - (U.S.A.)

I have a lot of friends and family who are involved in the Melaleuca business. They love the products. I have friends who were able to take their children off of inhalers, were able to be rid of prescriptions for eczema, lowered their cholesterol signifcantly and I can go on and on. I am a very skeptical person. I have done a lot of research on the Melaleuca oil. One hint about the internet. Most sites you find are not credible sites. It is hard to find a site that reports facts and not bias opinions. In all of my research with medical journals (JAMA), EPA and others, I have discovered that Melaleuca oil is a very safe and effective product. Just like anything, you will always find someone who has an allergy to some type of product, natural or not. If this stuff can acutally help you or your child, than great, use it! Everyone is not going to have the same opinion on everything. As far as the business side - my relative makes over $100,00 per year with this company. He strives on using morals, honesty and helpfullness. He is successful because he is honest, and he does care and really wants to help the average person. Frank Vandersloot who owns the company has these same values. Unfortunately there are many people in this world who are looking at the money, and not at how it can help someone. People who are not honest in 100% of what they do, are not going to get anywhere. I've done a lot of research on the company also. Yes they do kick people out, when they are not following the morals and standards that the owner had when he started the company. If he wanted the company to be a big scam, he would have done that from day one. Instead he has been a credible business owner, who has a heart for helping people, and he will not allow someone to use his company in the wrong way. I also found a report where he has been offered billions of dollars for the company, and he said no. He didn't want his vision for helping people lost in the world of business and money greed. I plan on joining and starting my own business, and I am sorry for those of you who had such a hard time and bad experience. To me it sounds as if your so called friends and families who introduced you to the company did not have all their ducks in a row before joining the business. It sounds as if you were being used for their benefit to get their checks. Those are the kind of people who give bad names to good companies.

Melaleuca and their products

AUTHOR: Tammy - (U.S.A.)

I have been a customer for almost 3 years. I have seen some attacks on how it doesn't save money but,I know it has saved me money.
My 3 yr old has very sensitive skin and I was paying over $20 amonth to wash her clothes with dreft. I tried everything else and her skin reacted. I also paid $13 a jar for eucarin to treat her eczema.

When I joined Melaleuca I bought their laundry soap, washed all of our clothes together and therefore save over $15 on laundry alone. Plus, I buy their lotion and save $7 by not buying my previous lotion and I get better results!

My daughter was very ill early in life and on some heavy meds that produced some of the worste diaper rashes you could imagine. After a week of perscription cream not working,I used pure Melaleuca oil. My dr was amazed at the progress 3 days later, she was a lot better and totaly healed in 5 days!

By the way, the difference between melaleuca's tea tree oil and whatever you can buy from walmart is that Melaleuca uses pharmaceutical grade tea tree oil. All of their other products use vegitable derived ingredients and are without toxins.

How can I be sure that they are safe? I hate to admit it, but I have had to call the poison control center when my daughter made a mixture of bathroom and kitchen cleaner concentrates and then drank it. I thank God that they were melaleuca cleaners, had they been something made by clorox or smiliar she could have died! The poison control center said I could expect her to have loose stools and no worse.

I don't really work the business, but I do get a about $100 a month from them because people have signed up by trying the products around my house and seeing how it has helped my daughter. No one I know uses desitan anymore for diaper rashes, they use melaleuca oil, even at my church's daycare!

I don't approve with some tactics I have seen used to promote the businesses. But no one will ever be able to convince me that Melaleuca is a bad company or makes bad products. I buy everything I can from them and they do clean well. A lady I know who cleans professionally for a living switched to Melaleuca because of how it cleaned and she does save money every month, even with shipping. My freind, who was very skeptical, switched after she almost passed out from overwhelming fumes while cleaning her bathroom with a bleach containing product.

Maybe it's not for everyone. But don't make judgements unless you have actually tried the products objectively. And don't attack Melaleuca's products because some people use unethical business practices.

Melaleuca in INC 500 in 2004

AUTHOR: Krissy - (U.S.A.)

William:

This is for you, if Melaleuca is such a horrible company, why are they listed in the "INC 500" magazine (2004) once again!! http://www.inc.com/magazine/20041015/hidi-vandersloot.html

I also wanted to give you a comment about this---you had said: In the "Consumer Complaints About Cosmetic Products 1996 Annual Report"
http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/costop96.html

you must not have read through the whole thing, other products listed included AVON, CLAIROL, ESTEE LAUDER, amongst MANY other companies listed. So what are you going to do contact each company and let them know personally that their products are no good...Let me know so I can see the lawsuit from them when it happens.

You obviously haven't tried being a preferred customer..so what gives you the right to down our family using these products. I want to hug Frank Vandersloot personally...my son who is 7 now has been on prescriptions all his life since he was 3 months old for allergies, asthma & excema. He could never be a normal child until now! When he was 5 his allergies were so bad he was hospitalized for 3 days, due to his asthma attacks. We have been using Melaleuca since January 2005 and WOW!! These products have made such a change in my son's life, we threw all the prescriptions away last month, and he is now a normal child & can have a good life now!!....He hasn't had Excema now since February...FIRST TIME EVER!!!

So for you to continually put down Melaleuca, you also are talking about a product that has saved my son's life...so shame on you for that!!!

You shouldn't put down a product that you obviously haven't tried yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was handled badly Brenda!!

"William, who is misrepresenting who? That is NOT my statement. That is only a portion of the medical abstract I quoted...one which won the 1998 William J. Stickel Bronze Award! Do you not understand what the the " symbol means at the beginning and end of printed text?"

Well you are claiming to be an employee of Melaleuca when your not.

"Melaleuca Does NOT Force Anyone To Consume Mass Quantities of Product! Customers AGREE To Purchase A Certain Minimum By Signing A Customer Agreement!"

Again that is presenting false and misleading information

"And it will most likely never end, because there will always be people who sign agreements without reading what they are signing, and there will always be people who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions."

People have many different buying habits some single buy $35 a month and some choose to buy more. You owe Jonas an apoligy.

Well if the reps would take time to walk people through the agreement this would never have happened.

"The FTC does not protect people from their own inability to say no.

The FTC does not protect people from their own stupidity in signing an agreement without first reading it.

The FTC does not protect people from their own laziness or inability to enroll customers, and expectations that someone in their support group will build their business for them"

Brenda,

Multilevel marketing plans, also known as "network" or "matrix" marketing, are a way of selling goods or services through distributors. These plans typically promise that if you sign up as a distributor, you will receive commissions -- for both your sales of the plan's goods or services and those of other people you recruit to join the distributors. Multilevel marketing plans usually promise to pay commissions through two or more levels of recruits, known as the distributor's "downline

If a plan offers to pay commissions for recruiting new distributors, watch out! Most states outlaw this practice, which is known as "pyramiding." State laws against pyramiding say that a multilevel marketing plan should only pay commissions for retail sales of goods or services, not for recruiting new distributors.

Why is pyramiding prohibited? Because plans that pay commissions for recruiting new distributors inevitably collapse when no new distributors can be recruited. And when a plan collapses, most people -- except perhaps those at the very top of the pyramid -- lose their money.

Avoid any plan that includes commissions for recruiting additional distributors. It may be an illegal pyramid.

Beware of plans that ask new distributors to purchase expensive inventory. These plans can collapse quickly -- and also may be thinly-disguised pyramids.

Be cautious of plans that claim you will make money through continued growth of your "downline" -- the commissions on sales made by new distributors you recruit -- rather than through sales of products you make yourself.

Beware of plans that claim to sell miracle products or promise enormous earnings. Just because a promoter of a plan makes a claim doesn't mean it's true! Ask the promoter of the plan to substantiate claims with hard evidence.

Beware of shills -- "decoy" references paid by a plan's promoter to describe their fictional success in earning money through the plan.

Don't pay or sign any contracts in an "opportunity meeting" or any other high-pressure situation. Insist on taking your time to think over a decision to join. Talk it over with your spouse, a knowledgeable friend, an accountant or lawyer.

Do your homework! Check with your local Better Business Bureau and state Attorney General about any plan you're considering -- especially when the claims about the product or your potential earnings seem too good to be true.

So basicly you are pyramiding and its illegal.

Lets explain further about misleading promotion and advertising.

Institutional consumers also care about buying "green." Indeed, the President of the United States recently issued Executive Orders encouraging federal procurement officers to purchase recycled and environmentally preferable products.

But what do green claims really mean? And when are they considered misleading?
National guidelines issued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), with the cooperation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), are available to help companies make sure their green claims don't run afoul of the law. The FTC Act prohibits deceptive acts or practices, including deceptive representations in advertising, labeling, product inserts, catalogs, and sales presentations

What are the FTC Guides?
The FTC's Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims explain how the FTC Act is enforced when it comes to environmental claims.

An example of a deceptive claim from the Guides
A lawn care product is advertised as "essentially non-toxic" and "practically non-toxic." Consumers would likely interpret these claims in the context of such a product as applying not only to human health effects but also to the product's environmental effects. Since the claims would likely convey to consumers that the product does not pose any risk to humans or the environment, if the pesticide in fact poses a significant risk to humans or environment, the claims would be deceptive.

It is deceptive to misrepresent, directly or by implication, that a product or package is degradable, biodegradable or photodegradable. An unqualified claim that a product or package is degradable, biodegradable or photo-degradable should be substantiated by competent and reliable scientific evidence that the entire product or package will completely break down and return to nature, that is, decompose into elements found in nature within a reasonable short period of time after customary disposal.

When it comes to evaluating claims for weight loss products, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recommends a healthy portion of skepticism. Before you spend money on products that promise fast and easy results, weigh the claims carefully. Think twice before wasting your money on products that make any of these false claims:

"Lose weight without diet or exercise!"

Achieving a healthy weight takes work. Take a pass on any product that promises miraculous results without the effort. Buy one and the only thing you'll lose is money.

Lose weight no matter how much you eat of your favorite foods!

Beware of any product that claims that you can eat all you want of high-calorie foods and still lose weight. Losing weight requires sensible food choices. Filling up on healthy vegetables and fruits can make it easier to say no to fattening sweets and snacks.

Lose weight permanently! Never diet again!

Too often consumers do not find consumer protection information until it's too late. Using "teaser" web sites, the FTC is trying to reach consumers before they make a purchase or invest their money. These "teaser" sites are Web pages, accessible by major search engines and indexing services, that mimic fraudulent sites. Internet shoppers looking for vacation deals, for example, may find an innocent-looking site that offers a money-saving, spectacular, luxury, dream vacation.(7) A lovely sunset emerges. Three clicks into the "come-on," the FTC seal appears. The site alerts consumers that they can get scammed, and gives tips on how to distinguish fraudulent pitches from legitimate ones. The site also links the consumer to the Commission's web site for additional information

Consumers and commercial marketers are not the only groups to see the value and power of the Internet. Con artists also are online, hoping to take advantage of low startup costs; the possibility of "real-time" immediate payments; a nearly infinite number of places to "hide" from law enforcement; unparalleled ability to mimic legitimate business; and instant access to a global customer base. Today's fraud peddlers can confuse consumers more easily through web sites that are as sophisticated and appealing as those of many legitimate businesses.

If you have spent money and time on a work-at-home program and now believe the program may not be legitimate, contact the company and ask for a refund. Let company representatives know that you plan to notify officials about your experience. If you can't resolve the dispute with the company, file a complaint with these organizations:

The Federal Trade Commission works for the consumer to prevent fraud and deception. Call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or log on to www.ftc.gov.

The Attorney General's office in your state or the state where the company is located. The office will be able to tell you whether you're protected by any state law that may regulate work-at-home programs.

Your local Better Business Bureau.

Your local postmaster. The U.S. Postal Service investigates fraudulent mail practices.

The advertising manager of the publication that ran the ad. The manager may be interested to learn about the problems you've had with the company.

And Brenda, Do you also post at scam.com under the same name? Why are you misrepresenting the company claiming to be an employee when your not? why are you not answering my questions from my last post?
Why are you defaming me with your incorrect assumptions?

Why do you refuse to answer all of my questions? I sense you are hiding something...

As for the FTC, They may start investigating your company. Explain to me Brenda why Melaleuca lists itself as a non mlm company at the DSA website?

Have you ever checked this out

AUTHOR: Tammy - (U.S.A.)

Well Evon and William certainly have some very strong feelings on the poisioning of people by Melaleuca, I am very curiouse to see if they have done the same type of research on the companies whose products they use now. Have you researched Proctor and Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, and a host of other manufactors like you have reseached Melaleuca?

Have you, like I have, had to call poison control because one of your 2 year olds has gotten under the sink and gotten into something they souldn't. Poison control told me that my child would be uncofortable untill it got out of her system but would be fine. I asked them what would have happened if she had gotten into the products that where there just months before, and they told me that an Ambulance would be on its way to my house.

And by the way you must not know how a MLM works. See in a MLM you get ahead because the people under you work. I know I did Amway. In CDM which Melaleuca does You advance because you work. You can advance over the level of the person on top of you with out making them that level to. For instance you can be a Senior Director and your Mentor could only be a director 2. Sure they are getting commisions off of people in your org. but thats what makes it residual income.

SO for me I don't care if they cost more, I don't care about shipping, I dont' care if you think its a scam, I don't care if you never join. I am sorry that the person that tried to enroll you was not completly honest and that you prejudged our company. We as a company strive for honest but hey we are still human. And Proctor and Gamble doesn't tell you stuff that could hurt you and I dont' see you harping on them. If you reply I won't see it because all this site is, is a place for people to come and b***h about stuff. I dont' think it has much mertit in reality.

As with most naturally occurring agents, claims of effectiveness have been only anecdotal; however, several published studies have recently demonstrated tea-tree oil's antibacterial activity. Melaleuca is a Great Company.

AUTHOR: Adrienne - (U.S.A.)

Contrary to your opinion, as an extremely satisfied customer of Melaleuca, I thoroughly researched the company and its products. I found the reports that you mention, and, assuming that the products involved were Melaleuca products, I was not alarmed because: (1) there will always be allergic reactions to any product/ingredient--my son is allergic to peanuts but that does not mean that peanut farmers are evil scam artists; (2) the child that swallowed the T37-C5 was disoriented but fully recovered a few hours later--had this child swallowed dishwashing liquid, bleach, disinfectant, window cleaner, etc. the child's fate would have been fatal (Also keep in mind that Melaleuca Oil in its pure form should not be ingested--this is an improper use of the product); and (3) I researched the chemicals found in the common household cleaners, cosmetics, bath and skincare products sold in grocery stores, department stores and the local WalMart and determined that the health risks: Cancer, Asthma, Birth Defects, Reproductive Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Liver and Kidney Damage, and more were far more dangerous--Try reading the warning labels on the products that you use. These health risks exists with Proper Usage.

If you took the time to research the products that you are currently using, maybe you would see things from a different perspective. I am not saying that Melaleuca works for everyone but I know that it works for me and my family's health has greatly improved since I converted my home. Let's not be so quick to insult Melaleuca customers or blame Melaleuca for every report regarding negative reactions to Melaleuca Oil. Melaleuca oil (tea tree oil) is manufactured and distributed by hundreds of companies, and, as with anything else, there will be those who are willing to sacrifice quality for the sake of profits.

I'd also like to add that this company has afforded me the opportunity to leave the legal profession and spend more time with my family. Maybe you have experienced Mela reps who were unprofessional or who exaggerated the facts but I can honestly say that the products speak for themselves. If not, enrollers would not continuously order products month after month--No matter how great the pitch, a person will not re-order a product if he/she is not satisfied.

In response to William... First of all, your facts above relate to a product that Melaleuca Inc, does NOT produce!

AUTHOR: Bernie - (Japan)

I simply love how people like you, jump on Melaleuca Inc's back with a whole bunch of 'information' and 'facts', based on one word: Melaleuca. Or more specifically, 'Melaleuca Oil'.

First of all, your facts above relate to a product that Melaleuca Inc, does NOT produce!

Secondly, if you want to spew FACTS William, here's some you obviously failed to bother to find out:

1) There are over 120 types of Melaleuca Oil available.
2) These 120 types of oils, originate from various cultivations of the Melaleuca Tree.
3) Melaleuca Inc is the ONLY company licensed to manufacture T36-C5 oil. I believe there is also a T37-C5 oil, but as I don't live in the USA, I'm not sure on that point.
4) Do you even know what the C5 means? It's the level of safe for human use marker. Ironically, it doesn't work in the logical sense of 1 = Dangerous and 7 = safe. As I'm not a physician, you'll need to do your own research for the reasons why they use C5 as the safety marker.
5) Melaleuca Inc's products are totally, 100% NON-Toxic, except for the Tub-n-Tile, which is only dangerous when mixed with Chlorine. And, as it generally refers to the strength of chlorine used in swimming pools, there's virtually zero risk of anyone getting poisoned by it when used in their own homes!

You know, it really would help if people stopped thinking of Melaleuca Inc as some small, insignificant home shopping get rich quick scheme fly by night operation! They adhere to every request made by the FDA, FBI and other bodies.
They have 100's of top-rated physicians doing research for them, and backing up the research of colleagues.
Sure, they may f*** up once in a blue-moon, but who doesn't? And even when they do, they are quick to resolve issues as smoothly as possible.

Let's also remember: the staff you speak to on the telephone, whilst hired by Melaleuca Inc based on ability to perform to required procedures, are not always going to do so. It's beyond me how anyone can take this as meaning 'the products are toxic' and/or 'all Melaleuca 'reps' are liars'.
Sure there are some 'reps' out there that are less than honest. But William, they don't last too long with Melaleuca Inc.
The rest of us that are left - that is - the honest ones - are left to pick up the trail of destruction that the uninformed 'reps' leave behind them. This is unfortunate, as it simply makes believing in Melaleuca harder for those that are listening to another 'rep' whose integrity and honesty are genuine.

Your 'facts' while obviously true, are only relevant to T36-C7 - not a Melaleuca Inc, product.

Medical Research Shows Benefits of Tea Tree Oil...Melaleuca, Inc. Produces T36-C5, NOT the lower grade T36-C7!

AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)

William,

In those two reports, it is noted at the top of the page:

"Note: All reporting is voluntary and the information is "as reported" by the complainant. There may not have been any FDA follow-up to determine the accuracy of the information, and it may be uncertain whether or not the reported product actually caused the adverse reaction."

You list the definition of dermatitis...it does not mean that the person reported all the

symptoms. It merely fell under that category.

The products might or might not have caused the symptoms in those two examples. The information is "as reported", not necessarily the cause, according to the FDA. A small percentage of people who are prone to allergies, or are allergic to the Myrtle family of trees might experience a mild rash or allergenic contact dermatitis.

"The only side effects reported from tea tree oil are an occasional mild rash or allergic contact dermatitis. In studies where patients developed a mild reaction, they were able to continue using it until their treatment was complete. Rarely, someone may experience a more severe reaction, in which case he or she should stop using it.", according to Dr. Chritine Horner.

Why do you continually list data about T36-C7? Melaleuca does not produce T36-C7!

The International Standards Organization has determined that oil of Melaleuca alternifolia must contain more than 30% terpinen-4-ol and no more than 15% cineole.

Melaleucas's standards are EVEN HIGHER, with at least 36% terpinen-4-ol and not more than 5% cineole. Melaleuca's products are T36-C5 and T40-C3. Melaleuca does NOT make T36-C7.

The 23-month-old boy you listed drank 100% T36-C7, which could not have been a Melaleuca, Inc. product. Again, Melaleuca DOES NOT produce T36-C7! And Melaleuca does not say it is ok to drink their SAFER, PURER product T36-C5.

Pub Med Extract: 1998 William J. Stickel Bronze Award. Antifungal activity of Melaleuca alternifolia (tea-tree) oil against various pathogenic organisms

Melaleuca, Inc.'s Standards EXCEED Standards Set By The International Standards Organization

AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)

Evon, you are the one that needs to check out the facts. Show me ONE documented study, clinical study, or other reputable scientific publication showing that Melaleuca, Inc.'s products have caused poisoning. Know what you are talking about before trying to discredit a reputable company.

There are many different companies that manufacture melaleuca oil (tea tree oil). Some tea tree oil products are more PURE than others. Tea tree oil, as defined by the International Standards Organization, has a 70 year history of safe use and scientific data to support claims about its properties. Only oil that meets the international standard can be presumed to have the medicinal properties attributed to tea tree oil.

According to the University of Western Australia, tea tree oil is toxic if ingested in large enough quantities. They further state that the tea tree oil contained in oral products such as toothpastes and mouthwashes is not considered problematic since it is expelled from the mouth and not swallowed.

There are close to 100 variations of melaleuca trees, and within that spector, there are close to 300 different varieties of melaleuca alternifolia. Of those almost 300 varieties of melaleuca alternifolia, ONLY ONE produces the medicinal benefits. AND OF THIS ONE variety of melaleuca alternifolia, MELALEUCA, INC. USES ONLY THE PUREST.

I have personally spent thousands of hours researching the individual ingredients in most of Melaleuca's products. And when I questioned why Melaleuca chose a particular ingredient over one used in similar products manufactured by other companies, I researched those ingredients also. My research included documented scientific studies, clinical studies and articles written and published by reputable medical and scientific authors, scientists, physicians, and recognized medical and scientific publications.

Melaleuca's products are natural consumable products with ingredients whose properties have been verified or improved scientifically. Only well-researched ingredients of the highest quality are used in the products.

Product development of each new product begins with selecting the highest-grade ingredients that meet strict requirements for quality, strength and purity. Every step of the formulating and manufacturing processes are then monitored to insure the product will perform far beyond anything available in conventional grocery and drug stores.

Research staff continually seeks to improve and stringently monitor the quality of every ingredient, conducting over 45,000 ingredient inspections. Each month, they monitor the quality of each product in over 7,000 laboratory tests to prove that product performance measures up to the highest of standards and delivers real wellness benefits.

In all my research, I have NEVER found a case of poisoning from one of Melaleuca, Inc.'s products. What I do have in my collection is hundreds and hundreds of testimonials from people whose lives have been enhanced by Melaleuca, Inc.

As for the company itself, it is very legitimate, and is in the business of enhancing the lives of others. Investigate CREDIBLE sources yourself, and you will see that the company operates with honesty and integrity.

Mela is NO different than Shopping At WalMart Or Sams!!

AUTHOR: Cin - (U.S.A.)

I have read so many comments about Mela, both good and bad. I must say to each their own. If you love the products great - no need to "convince" others, if you think the company is a "ripoff" then fine - you just dont get it.

Do you shop at WalMart or Sams or Costco? Do you pay 35 dollars per year for that membership that saves you nothing? I have spent literally thousands of dollars on doctors bills only to find I made myself sick. I literally wanted to die after spending 2 months cleaning a house from feces and other gross stuff, only to find that the harse items i used killed my thyroid, killed my adrenals and was causing kidney problems. I switched to mela 3 years ago becuase I needed to find something that did not drain my body. END OF STORY. I used to shop at Sams and WalMart - Now I just Shop Mela. I do not pay for shippping because of what I order and I will NEVER go back. My life is more fullfilling now as a customer then it ever was as a Walmart customer. I have to be a customer somewhere - why not for a company that ships to my front door -free of charge, saves me money and even sends me a check just for ordering every month.

Get off the SCAM crap - if you dont get it you dont get it. Every business is MLM if you think about it, someone at the top makes money. go on with your life!! For those that get it, I commend you! Even God said that those who destroy the earth shall so be destroyed - I for one will not be someone He will be looking for, by products do not poison the earth nor my family. I convince nobody, I force nobody, and I life a great life.

smoke and mirrors of melaleuca

AUTHOR: William - (U.S.A.)

People are fed up with all the "smoke and mirrors" in the recruiting process. It is shameful that unethical people take advantage of those who are uneducated and uninformed. It also unfortunate that people who don't even understand the concept of this way marketing and seek ways to criticize it and destroy it

Many illegal money-making ventures are modified and adapted to suit the victims. They may be disguised as games, chain letters, buying clubs, motivational companies, mail order operations, or investment organizations.Pyramid schemes are inherently injurious to consumers because as a mathematical certainty, they are doomed to collapse. As in the case of chain letters that require a payment, only the people at the very top make any money. Fear and scare tactics are commonly used in such money games like that.

It is quite sad to see a few people on this forum use predatory selling tactics that are extremly unethical as advice. I own my own website and I find it really sad when Melaleuca Reps resort to name calling, misrepresenting the company, using hype and lies to defend or sell a product or business that really is NOT at all great.

The usaul prominant lines and lies comes up time and time again pertaining to make money fast and quick riches overnight. Better yet, it is still a ploy to get you invest in a shoddy scheme. You will end up hurting alot of people with this slick concept that adopts unethical marketing practices and principles. Neither of the people involved in such should be trustworthy nor befriended

Why does the DSA allow companies like Melaleuca to misrepresent themselves on their website?

Why did Joe Jones have to question Mr Vandersloot's ethics when Mr Vandersloot's claimed that his company was not MLM and all MLM's are scams? Even Joe Jones recommends avoiding the company like the plague.

http://whowho911.com/messages/2145.html

Why the number of negitive reports at the the Ripoff Report?

Why the number of employee's and ex-employee's or people posing as employee misrepresenting the company on the Ripoff report? That consitute as fraud.

Why in the hell are Melaleuca reps lying to people to get them to join?

Why is the DSA protecting Rogue companies and their reps and keeping consumers from the truth?

Why has Meleleuca not taken action against rogue company Representatives and teams?

I am tired of hearing Melaleuca reps spewing nothing but sales pitch propaganda and misrepresenting their company On how the products are safe and nontoxic when they are not safe to begin with. Again that is fraud.

I am tired of hearing these reps make a big issue of spelling errors. It really shows that they have no morals, no integrity, no ethics, no education on selling a product or business honestly.

Melaleuca is the Best Natural Product Company

AUTHOR: Giovanna - (Canada)

Dear Evon,

I am sorry you feel this way about Melaleuca..

The products are awesome and high quality. For many years I have suffered from scalp psorriasis, constantly scratching and the Melaleuca Oil Shampoo has relieved the itchiness on my scalp by a lot. Imagine how wonderful I will feel in a few more months.

I am at peace now compared to 3 months ago. That is when I joined the company and it was the best decision I could ever make. Natural Products cost 3 times the price in natural store. A simple house cleaner cost $9.99 CAD at Melaleuca I get the best for $ 1.70 CAD per spray bottle.

Natural Soaps cost $ 6.00 CAD - $ 8.00 CAD

I am glad I met Melaleuca. God Bless that Day!.. I will always remember Dec 28/04.

Being of low iron Melaleuca vitamins are speedily raising my hemoglobins and iron storage. For months I was using other vitamins that were just not working. My Physician was very concerned and since I don't like to use pharmaceutical products I would not take presprictions. Melaleuca is saving my life.

As far as the pricing is concerned.. The goal of this company is to make a revenue like all companies but also to share it with its members; so that being said, I am not sorry about the prices I pay knowing that half of the profit goes back in the pocket of the hard working members who make Melaleuca happen!..

Melaleuca is a company made in Heaven! All companies should be like Melaleuca... It's interest is to see members succeed.! I know God is looking down on Melaleuca with a proud heart.

To all Melaleuca Members..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

GOD BLESS YOU..

#102 Consumer Comment

Melaleuca has a reason for non-advertisement

AUTHOR: Krissy - (U.S.A.)

I am too am a consumer & own my own business with iMoms/Momexecs. I have only been doing this for a little while. I just want to say I love the products, I have always wanted good, quality products for my family, and I couldn't ever have the chance financially to give this to them. Fortunately, now I can and I feel so much better knowing my family is getting the best. As for the comments on how Melaleuca not letting us advertise there name, I do have a comment regarding this. I have been an Insurance Agent for Commercial Property & Casualty for almost 9 years, and I have seen many types of law suits in those years. One of the great ideas I liked with this opportunity, is that Melaleuca is being very protective of all that start their own business with this great opportunity. I know from my career experience, not having the liability of "selling Melaleuca products" was one of the reason's I got excited about this. I sure feel better knowing that a Manufacturer that trusts the quality of their product so much, that they want to take 100% of the liability for themselves. That to me says a lot about a company. I was once an Avon Rep. & I also was involved with Amway for awhile years ago. Unfortunately with selling their products, the liability for lawsuits also falls under the person selling their products, being named as well for being the "Manufacturer's Rep". With Melaleuca, you are NOT a Manufacturer's Rep for the products, we don't sell the products ourselves to the customer, all we do is sign them up for membership, it is up to the "Preferred Customer" to look into the products and buy them for themselves, and if they want to advertise their website so other consumers can have the opportunity to do the same is all up to them, not for the person that signed them up. The same liability thought would also fall under say "Sam's Club" membership. If you are unhappy with a product that you purchase at Sam's Club, would you actually go back to the 'same employee' of Sam's Club and demand the employee refund this, or would you go to "Sam's Club" (the company itself) and demand refund on your membership if you were unhappy. I personally would go to the actual company selling the product to me. All I can see with Meleleuca is good things. That $29 for membership to be able to buy products 30-40% in savings, sure makes a lot of sense to me. And I did get this $29 back in my first month of ordering my own products for the month, as I saved $33.62 on my first order from the Retail Price, so it is true, NO RISK. I am an at home mom and love it, and knowing I can purchase better & safer products for my family is the main reason I joined as a Preferred Customer. If I can make money at this business (introducing other people to safer, better & wholesale priced products) to even just pay for the household products I buy every month anyway, this sure makes a big difference. I can see if someone is unhappy with the product, and that is why being human is wonderful, because everyone of us have a different taste in things (kind of like some like spinach, while others do not). And if someone joins to GET RICH FAST, what a mistake of thinking that is. If you look at ALL Legit Business Opportunities out there, there is NOT one "Own your own business" out there that you didn't spend money to make money. And what business out there makes you rich over night. I know for a fact that if you own your own business, there are expenses. I don't know of one company (you start on your own) that you don't have to pay something to start. Even me being an Insurance Agent, I can easily start a business of my own, but it takes money to make money. These are my thoughts, take what makes sense and leave the rest...Krissy

#103 Consumer Suggestion

Can't argue with these people.

AUTHOR: Antony - (Japan)

To those of us that are involved with Melaleuca, and KNOW the products, and KNOW the business, and KNOW the right and honest things to say when talking about it, and KNOW that we're NOT selling anything, and KNOW that every single person, I say it again, EVERY SINGLE PERSON, involved with Melaleuca on the business side of it, who is now earning 'big bucks', was at one time, NOT earning big bucks. But they had/have one goal in mind: to be successful and share their knowledge with others. THAT is how they came to earning good money!

You cannot argue with people like Gary and Evon simply because they will ALWAYS find something to pull apart about ANYTHING that could be beneficial to them.

Anyone else check out www.mentoringforfree.com ?

Go there download the ebook (ALL FREE), no companies mentioned, no products mentioned, just LOTS of good advice about HOW to do your business, whatever company you're involved in.

Further, it also talks about there being 4 colours, with each colour being a particular type of person.

Gary and Evon come under the 'Green' category. Download the ebook and you'll see exactly what that means.

Gary, you're obviously a much uninformed individual with either a bad experience in the past and thus now thinks ALL work from home companies are the same, OR, absolutely NO IDEA of what you're talking about. Merely applying your own theory that all such companies must be the same as Amway!

Evon, reading through your posts, it's all too obvious that you are going to find fault with Melaleuca no matter what anyone says. In one post you even go so far as to say:

"I have seen that one person has made a rebuttal in the favor of this company stating that the products have been good for their family and has improved their way of life and overall health."

Then, later in another one, you say that you never made any reference to Melaleuca the company at all! You further go on and on and on, trying to make out that Melaleuca is a dangerous ingredient. True. It is. Well, that is, T36-C7 is, but T36-C5 isn't. Least not to the scope that the C7 is.

NO company would be allowed to put a TESTED product/ingredient on the market for human consumption. The products you talk of buying at your local store, contain 1000's of UNTESTED ingredients. UNTESTED = UNLISTED on the container label. Did YOU know that there are LAWS that protect manufacturers from having to expose every single chemical in their products? It's called 'Consumer Labelling Law'. It's supposed to protect you, the consumer, from appropriating dangerous toxins/ingredients in your everyday consumables, and that includes food items. BUT, the reality is, the law protects us the consumer just a fraction of what it was supposed to. Loop holes in the law allow companies to use chemicals in their products that have yet to be tested as safe for human use. If they haven't been tested yet, they don't need to be listed, as no information can be available for their properties, or rather, what those properties do when mixed with other ingredients.

I don't know if you smoke or not, but I used to work for a tobacco manufacturer. In my contract I was sworn to secrecy about ANYTHING I saw in the company. This included not being able to mention the 4000 chemicals that are added to tobacco leaf to give it taste, longevity, cohesion, induce chemical stimulation in your brain so as to make you WANT to smoke, etc etc.

Did you know giving up smoking is harder to give up than heroin or cocaine? This is because the chemicals in tobacco can stay in your body for upto TEN YEARS even after you quit smoking!!

TEN YEARS! Ever wonder why so many people go back to smoking so easily? Now you know.

To the rest of us enjoying Melaleuca for what it is, when you come across people like this, there's no harm in hearing them out. It would be great if we could help them in some way. But, when it's people who have never even tried the products, what can you do? Gary and Evon will probably say something like,'Oh man, that's an easy way of saying 'find some other sucker because these guys are on to us'.

You can NEVER win with people like this.

Gary and Evon, be fair guys, don't knock something until you've tried it. With Melaleuca you've got NOTHING to lose even just for trying it. ONE bad representative is NOT reflective of Melaleuca.

Not a scam or a ripoff

AUTHOR: Rick - (U.S.A.)

As a customer and business builder of Melaleuca, I've done exhaustive research into this company before I joined and continuously do so. Which is how I found this site.

So far, the complaints I've heard are from people that don't have any clue about business in general, don't like work-at-home programs, or don't like the products. Of the three, only the last have any credibility.

I have started many business ventures in my 37 years, some profitable, many not so much. I chose to become a marketing executive with Melaleuca because it fit with all the guidelines that I had developed to ensure that I wasn't wasting my time.

I'll mention just a few here:

1. Consumable products

After having been in direct sales and telemarketing for many years, having sold Kirby Vacuums, frozen food, Herbalife, insurance etc. I realized that I did not want to partner with a company that sold people things that they don't need for money that they can't afford.

The products that Melaleuca research, develop and manufacture are products that we all use 20+ times per day. Products that are completely recession proof as we will continue to brush our teeth and wash our clothes etc no matter what the state of the economy.

And not only are they consumable, but they are much more effective than anything you will find at the grocery store or Wally World.

2. A strong company

The awards that Melalueca has earned since its beginning in 1985 are amazing. The personal awards that the CEO has earned also speak for the veracity of himself and the company.

That along with the fact that Melaleuca: The Wellness Company has experienced growth every year since 1985 shows me and most other business minded individuals that this is indeed a respectable company.

I could go on and on with this topic but I won't. Look us up and you will find the same that I did.

3. Low start up cost.

29.00 US to get started in a business for yourself. WOW! There is no other business that someone can start for such a low cost that has all the Melaleuca has to offer.

Time is short so I must conclude rapidly. There is one more category of people that I've found who are making negative comments concerning Melaleuca. Those are the people who expect to earn big bucks for no work.

This is not a get rich quick scheme. And anyone who tells you so is misleading you. Can it be done quickly? You bet. It's totally up to the individual.

What many people don't understand is that you will not be able to succeed in any venture without sacrifice. No matter what their profession. I have not found anyone who has done the necessary steps that are a part of any business practice fail in this business. The ones that do fail are the ones who simply didn't do what is required to succeed in any business. Work!!

And then the best part of this company: You try it and don't like it, you get your money back. No Risk! Now that's a company I stand behind.

to be clearer, Poisoning, can occor in any level, from just about anything. Sun can poison you. Food can poison you. However, Melaleuca has had NO FATAL POISONINGS.

AUTHOR: Lauren - (U.S.A.)

Ok. Perhaps I was not clear enough in the last post. This time I'll try to be a little clearer. T36-C7 was the ONLY strength of melaleuca oil that was actually NAMED (therefore, The only one I could refer to, or you, for that matter). The others did not name the specific strength, however, based on the similar symptoms, it is safe to conclude that it was the same strength. The melaleuca ingredient IS the T/C combination. It is not something added to the oil, it is just different levels of components extracted from the plant.

Poisoning, can occor in any level, from just about anything. Sun can poison you. Food can poison you. However, Melaleuca has had NO FATAL POISONINGS. PERIOD. They may as well be considered allergic reactions, because the effects wore off. Allergic reactions can occur from anything. There are people alergic to tea tree oil. Did YOU actually read the statistics on how many people tested developed the contact dermatitis? Only a small fraction, hence these people must have been allergic to the oil. I've read the reports.

Perhaps I should have worded my response a little differently, in regards to spending more/less. First, Let me tell you that my S&H is pretty much cancelled out, because 10% of the product points ordered goes into an advantage dollar program which you can redeem for free products. That pretty much equals out the S&H.

Need I post about the products being super-concentrated again? That is what makes them different from what you buy from the grocery/health stores.

The term salesperson, it yet another incorrect term, because if he/she was a sales person.. she would be violating the rules. As for them telling you that they ONLY use melaleuca oil in their products, that IS incorrect (although, there are alot of people who do not pay attention to information, so I do not doubt that they said this). Why would they have over 300 products.. all made of melaleuca oil only? That's impossible. It would all be the same product. Melaleuca oil. This person should not have a melaleuca business, or atleast until they are better educated on the company and it's products.

As for the ONE Natural/healthy all purpose product, how much does it cost? How many uses do you get out of one bottle? Can you use it to brush your teeth, wash your hair, as the only laundry detergeant (or do you have to add it to the existing one?), to wash your children / yourself, as deodorant, for aches and pains, as fabric softener.... I could go on.

Melaleuca has an all purpose cleaner that can be used for about 90% of cleaning duties as well(actually, I use it for cleaning everything, even my grill), however they offer personal care items, pharmaceutical items, Nutritional suppliments and vitamins, and cosmetics. Not all of their products are cleaning products, only about 1/5. Most of the melaleuca customers shop with them for all product lines, not just the cleaning products. I'm sorry if I was not clear when I had posted last, but I did not want to write a novel like this one. This will be my last post, I hope, on this topic.

How about this , EVON... The people that have posted here as "employees" are part the 96% of customers that reorder from one month to the next.

AUTHOR: Joy - (U.S.A.)

Anyone will tell you, as an insider you learn the most about a company... Just like working at a fast food place... only to see what is REALLY put in those burgers. Why not sign up for the $29 (U.S.) 120-day money-back guarantee. Order a value pack (50+) items, also with an empty-bottle money-back guarantee (which you will NOT get at the grocery store). Learn about your 10% rebate.

THEN, USE the products yourself. Give them to someone who suffers from one of many chemical-induced ailments (as stated in various independent reseach reports). THEN you can post here what is FACT. Based on customer experience. The people that have posted here as "employees" are part the 96% of customers that reorder from one month to the next. That, in itself, says how good the company and products are. I mean you can fool some of the people some of the time, but NOT all of the people all of the time.

By the way, I do not want this to look like a type of solicitation. I don't think I could work with Evon, therefore, I am not looking to sign him up. I just think, like MANY situations, everyone has the answers, but only until they have walked the walk, should they talk the talk. I worry about those that read unexperienced comments, that hold within them some type of judgment. If you feel that Melaleuca is NOT right for you, fair enough. Not fair though, to post it where people are looking for valid experience and cautionary statements. These products have made a difference in many lives for almost 20 years. Anyone reading this should look into the reports based on actual experiences. Check out the epa site, the MSDS site, the cancer and alzheimer sites. THEY will state FACTS, not opinion.

Questions avoided by Melaleuca

AUTHOR: Evon - (U.S.A.)

I have read the responces to my "unsafe" products, and would like to say this: I am not defending or endorcing anything here, I am simply stating fact. Through my last post and "unsafe" products post, many of my qestions and comments have remained unanswered.

How many of these unsafe products reports did anyone posting a reply to that post read, really? I just visited the site again.. Did you know that only a few reports named T36-C7 in the poisioning cases, and that most cases were reported soly on the melaleuca ingreediant itself??

My problem again, are with the reports that stated poisioning and allergic reactions from the melaleuca ingreediant itself.. The melaleuca sales person I spoke with told me that the company has that ingreediant alone in their products, and nothing else..Besides that is obviously not true, and the fact is the melaleuca ingreediant has had reported poisioning cases PERIOD.

Also, I had noted that you can pick up these same types of healthy/natural products at your local grocery store..Most people take a trip to the grocery store weekly (or so) to get food anyhow...Therefor, why pay the product price and s&h??

One last thing...No one has even touched the comment I made last time either..I stated that there is ONE healthy/natural product on the market available at the local grocery store, that can be used for 90% of your cleaning needs...So again, you are still paying more when buying these melaleuca company products, as they are made for seperate uses.

T36-C7 is not used by melaleuca

AUTHOR: Lauren - (U.S.A.)

OK - I have read the reports that were on the "poisoning" of melaleuca oil. The only type that was listed was T36-C7, and melaleuca, the company does NOT use that type in their products. They use T36-C5, which I'm guessing it's the "C" amount that can be harmful, or perhaps just that specific combination of strengths of both components of the extract.

Melaleuca's cleaning products contain more than just the melaleuca oil, infact, alot of their products do not even contain the oil (alot of their pharmaceutical, dietary, cosmetics..). Most of them are made up of other non toxic ingredients, with melaleuca oil as an additive, but that is one of the active ingredients, because of it's natural solvent abilities.

I have used the T36-C5 oil (they do sell it in 1oz, and 1/2oz bottles of the oil itself) on an absess tooth, and obviously ingested some of it, and I'm still breathing, and it soothed the pain better than orajel, anbesol, everything else I tried. I'd say I used about 2 drops per application, about 4-5 times a day, for about a week until I could get the problem tooth pulled.

I would also like to state that the products of Melaleuca as a company are safe, and although the "burp bubbles" may be an under statement, the most that will happen if a child would happen to ingest some of, say, sol-u-mel, for instance, is abdominal discomfort, and a few trips to go "number 2". Basically a tummy ache with "hershey squirts". Also, I would like to state that None of the children in reported cases resulted in fatalities. They recovered a few hours later. As stated above, had the child ingested something like 409 or clorox clean up, it probably would have resulted in fatality.

Also, the products at the dollar store may be cheaper at first glance, but can they take permanent marker off of a photograph without harming it? NO. Sol-u-mel can (those who have it, try it. Use the CONCENTRATED / NON DILUTED version, as water itself will ruin the pucture. It amazes me every time!!)

Are they concentrated and last a long time? NO. Melaleuca's are. Most products last roughly 5 times longer... give or take, depending on the product.

Are they non toxic? NO. Most anyway - the non toxic items sold at most nutrition centers are not as concentrated as Melaleuca's - if at all, and therefore LOOK cheaper, but you're buying more, more often, so hence spending more than you would with melaleuca. Although melaleuca's cleaners will cause discomfort, nothing serious will occur. I believe last year over 1,000 cases of accidental ingestion of Melaleuca's products were reported. Wanna know how many innocent children died because of this? Zero. Nada. None. All lived to remember the nasty taste, and the "screamin' meamies" coming out of you know where.

Update to ALL..

AUTHOR: Evon - (U.S.A.)

I recently found that somoeone had submitted a rebuttal to my last report. The last report stated that Melaleuca was as unsafe product.

I have not made any comments on the fact that The company Melaleuca was represented in these reports...I am sating truth only.

A sales assosiate told me "these products are safe" and I listened to a recording that stated "If someone were to ingest/swallow this product, they would simply burp bubbles"....My statement initally was this is not true.

The people representing this company were mistating the facts of the matter..The reports I listed show that poisioning occured in many different cases with small children..Melaleuca the company should not be allowed to say that "burping bubbles" statement.

Also, the dollar stores, and such other companies are still far cheaper then the s&h charges along with the porduct charges of the Melaleuca company..Most people have to make a trip to the store for groceries, do they not? What benefit is there to ordering these products and paying the s&h charge, if I can pick them up on grocery day?

It is great that you can make money fromthis program, however, they should still restate their inital claim as I have said.

Evon, Did you take the time to click on each report?

AUTHOR: Joy - (U.S.A.)

Dear Evon,

I took the time to click on each report you referenced. They almost all talked about Melaleuca Oil/Tea Tree Oil, not the company itself. Additionally, skin dermatitis can come from a variety of sources, and an MD can tell you that. Most of the 'poisoning' reports were of small children ingesting less than 10 ml of the oil. The same amount of bleach, formaldahyde, phenols, Napthas, etc could kill those same children, or cause permanent physical damage... not just drowsiness/ nausea. Check out the EPA and MSDS on Melaleuca's products/ingredients as well as those of the brands you buy now.

As far as the S&H, tax charges... we all do that when we get in the car and waste a very expensive gallon of gas going to the store for toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, etc... Everyone has done it AT least 12 times in One year... probably costing more than S&H times 12 months. Haven't you ever ordered something for the PC, the car, the house, the children becuase it was a great deal... only to have to pay S&H? We ALL do it, for one reason or another.

If you have never tried Melaleuca, or looked at their business kit, how can you judge the company? I did my research before I joined. And I am trying the products. But, the difference between Melaleuca and the food store or pharmacy, is that I will receive money each month for referring a friend or two, or someone who contacted me to learn about the biz.

I wish you much success in ALL you do.

Blessings,

See for yourself, I simply do not understand why anyone would want to pay the costs of s&h along with the "discount" prices that this company claims to have.

Maybe every person's responce to this product will be different.. I simply do not understand why anyone would want to pay the costs of s&h along with the "discount" prices that this company claims to have.

I have found that you can buy products that are healthy for you at your local stores in most cases. Also, there are many other types of wellness and healthy products out there, that DO NOT cost as much as this one- plus they have a purpose for most any use IN ONE bottle. So, why would I waist my time on buying more then ONE bottle?

Now, as far as the research goes, there are several web sites you can find this info. on like these: http://www.herbmed.org/Herbs/Herb105.htm#Category5Herb105

THIS ONE having the most reports of poisoning cases: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=pubmed&cmd=Display&dopt=pubmed_pubmed&from_uid=12813303

I have been satisfied with my experience so far

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

I read Evon's post about Melaleuca's "unsafe" products. My biggest question is: Where is this report on unsafe products? I would like to read it and to do more research for myself.

Yes, I do use the Melaleuca products because it fits in line with my interest in homeopathic remedies and my desire to use non-toxic and biodegradable products in my home. None of us have had a "bad" reaction to any of the products that I've purchased. (I bought the career pack which included more than forty products.) I like the smell of the products. To me they smell clean and wholesome.

Allergies are prevalent everywhere. My husband suffered from severe allergies before we had ever heard of Melaleuca, tea tree oil. I have found that for MY household, these products are beneficial and have made my house smell cleaner and fresher. Since we have started using these products, my husbands allergies have been less. It's true that the products MAY not be the cause. But then allergy medicines don't always work for him either. It could be that the pollen count has been down. The point is that I am satisfied with these products. I entered this company with eyes wide open.

I was informed from the beginning that a monthly purchase was required. I choose to make it because that way I can get all of the harsh chemicals out of my house and keep them out. I enjoy not having to gasp for breath or feel as if my eyes want to climb back inside my head as I clean my bathroom shower. For me these products smell better and are less irritating to my air passages.

I have also read through the website by RM Barry, at www.rmbarry.com, who states they are an independent researcher. They also produce a book which has "recipes" to make useful combinations of products to help in many different situations. I personally like the fireant killer recipe, since I live in Central Texas. I also like the fact that I can kill fireants with the Prespot laundry spray. It doesn't have that heavy chemical smell that most ant killers do and I don't have to make a special note to buy it from the store. In addition, I've found that my animals have less health problems in response to these products.

These are MY results. MY experiences. This website is proof that not everyone will respond well.

I've found that it's not hard for me to make my "required" purchase each month, because I purchase these products from Melaleuca and not the local superstore. It makes the time I spend in the store less, because all that I now shop for is food and toilet paper. I am happy with these products.

As for being able to make $1000 a month, I was never promised that I would make it the first week, or at all, if I didn't work for it. But my enroller and support group has and IS helping me to reach those people who are like me and may see this as a way to improve their lives. My hope is to work hard for myself and to help those families that have the same desire as I do to improve my health and family life through healthy products. If I want to work this business, it is my responsibility.

One of the points that I try to make sure I cover when talking to someone is that Melaleuca and its products are not for everyone. But we are all responsible for finding what works for us without complaining that we were never told. Ignorance isn't bliss. It can be very harmful. I hope that any who read these reports will take the time to research what they are interested in, not just surf through and let someone else's opinion be their own.

I am sorry that this person had such a bad experience. Hopefully, they can find what they're looking for somewhere else.
