When I signed up I was told the these products were non-toxic and I thought great this is what I have been looking for.
My online research has not shown me that these products are non-toxic I could not find Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on any product except for one. That particular one "Sol-U-Guard Botanical MSDS sheet" is front and center on the Melaleuca site. It is a favorable report.
Unforuantely that is where the data ends and the hear say begins. It would have been great if these products were truely non-toxic but I can understand that peahaps they may only be less toxic. However, I cannot assume that they are even less toxic because I cannot find any available data to make any statement about these products.
I can understand that cleaning products can be somewhat toxic. I can understand that some people may have allergic reactions that may even be life threatening; a bee sting can do that. What I don't like is the secrecy, the hidden nature of the contents of these products. This lack of information has made me hesitant about going forward with Melaleuca.
I could even get behind selling a product that is just as toxic as it's competitors if it works better of has a better price point. I would like someone to clear the air and present the data for public examination. There are many companies that do. Go to http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/health.htm you can find some data there.
If this data exists somewhere I would appreciate a link.

Melaleuca Products Toxic- No Way

Even before I joined, I too did my homework and found nothing bad about Melaleuca's products. I also saw the favorable MSDS of Solugard and did you know that Melaleuca had to put this one ingredient because EPA. They would not approve it as a Hand sanitizer because of that. So, Melaleuca agreed to include that ingredient but at very least amount to get the EPAs stamp of approval. In fact, the asked their product specialist who was very helpful in educating me about the products and if you want to call them its 800-742-8094. If I was going to stand behind their products and train people in them, I better do my research and which I have done.
Allergy:
I have ask several doctors, nurses and nutritionists is my very own family and they all said the same thing, allergies can happen to anybody. There are people that gets the allergy test that dont even have any symptom are surprise that they are allergic to certain things. I myself am allergic to Artic AIR that comes down to California. My entire body swells up like crazy.
So, very hard to control. But I wont be surprise if somebody says to that they allergic to any of our products.
Business:
I started with them because really because of health reasons; my grandsons asthma gone in 2 months, my mother in law who is diabetic, colon cancer savior, has had 7 heart bypass surgery all one time had no energy all of a sudden stood up, went outside the house and started watering the plants again, the last time she did that was about 5 years ago when she was 78 just because I changed her Centrum Silver with Melaleucas Vitality 6 Vitamins. And for me, I had been in the care of an oncologist for 3 yrs. because I was borderline Leukemia or cancer of the blood. After drinking also the Vitality 6 Vitamins, I just cried when my doctor said my white cell count went down to normal levels. So do you think I believe in the products, YES, like a miracle to me.
I then started to share the products to family and friends and from my 1st check of $ 61.32 wherein I did not even work for because my sponsor placed some people under me and for my 2nd check that came out to $1974.69 for 2 weeks of referring Melaleuca to people and was able to sign up 14 members. On the 3rd month I was not able to work my Melaleuca business I was out of the country. Melaleuca sent me a Residual Income check of $ 846.23 for doing nothing. That really got me going, not only excited about the products but also about the business. I have helped a lot of people with Melaleuca as a business, some succeed and of course some give up because they cant make $20K on their first month or just arent coachable. The system didnt fail, its them failing themselves and their family. I am a Director 7 with Melaleuca and I got there because of hard work and that is why I am still around because its not one of those get rich scheme. Its a Legal Business that is recession proof for me and I paid $ 29.00 for it.
I welcome any question, I am a Stay at Home Dad, call me at 408-771-0296 and ask for Tony.

I actually looked at the complaints because someone at church was telling me it was a scam... and I found out otherwise...

The book suggested by the other person is also great, as it contains not only the ingredients, but also the research done for those products, and where to find those research papers/results. The most recent edition is titled: "The Melaleuca Product Training Resource." It does not, unfortunately contain the information on the new Attain products, but most products are in there.
There are people who have allergic reactions to tea-tree oil -- both my mother and mother-in-law have it. (Odd, I thought
Good luck in your search. :) There's plenty of information available. And the company is very helpful in letting you know.
