When NCO gave up on collecting from you, they just resold that debt to Merchant's Credit Guide Co. They are both debt collectors and junk debt buyers.
This cycle will keep going until you sue one of them for FDCPA violations or SOL enforcement.
You need to send them the CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request as per your rights under the FDCPA. Send this by certified mail, return reciept requested. Be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.
Then sue them when they violate it.
Keep in mind that NCO is totally out of the picture now.
