Mesa Vista Assisted Living Donation Overkill san antonio Texas
*Consumer Comment: What's up, Laverne?
This facility is a for profit entity yet they bilk donations for stoves, activity games, basic needs such as hangers for clothes and whatever else their parent company should provide and/or replace..my friend is a resident in this place and she pays over $1,800.00 a month to stay there..if anyone has had a similar experience, please know this is wrong..residents of private assisted living facilities should not donate anything other than for charitable causes

What's up, Laverne?

Who is this "for profit company" bilking for donations? The residents, others, or both? Many are operated by religious organizations and the monthly fees cover the usual items, salary, rent, food, utilities, upkeep and othe daily operating expenses. Many additional items are just NOT in their budgets.
If the're trying to get the residents to donate more, the residents have the option of not doing so, though I doubt this is the case. If they're asking for help from YOU and others, and you don't like this, then DON'T send them anything...see, it's really easy. Unless they're "strong-arming"people for donations, I don't quite understand your complaint.
My Dad was in a facility where I live, run by a religious organization and paid a lot more than $1800/month and we happily donated to the well being of the residents, more than once. They were unrestricted donations for any use the facility found best met their needs.
