I went to Message Envy yesterday to get a one hour message with a gift card my husband purchased for me last Christmas. When I went it in the place seemed nice enough. I sat with a rep and filled out health questionaire and and was told about the upgrades or "enhancments to my message that could be added for an additional $10.00. I selected to upgrade to a aromatherpy message. I have been to many message places and this was all pretty standard pratice. I have been to over fifty message palors in the past four years.
I love messages I am a pre school teacher and work a high paced job this helps me stay centered and relaxed. So anyway we talked about the message my first red flag was when the sale rep proceed to tell me that one hour message is really not one hour but only 50 minutes because that deduct 10 miuntes from your session to allow me time to get undressed/dressed and the clean up the room for the next person. I have never had that happen at any other place. I cant belive you would have a customer pay for the time while they make up the room for the next person.
So I am walked to a waiting room in which my message was supposed to start at 2:00, she was 9 minutes late getting me and then proceeds to bring me to the message room where she was gone another 5 minutes walking into the room about 2:19. My message was a joke hardly worth getting undressed she did not even message my face she poked at my hair for about 3 minuets and then rubed some lotion on my arms, legs and back. Oh yeah and the $10.00 upgrade never even added the aromaotherpy to the lotion when I asked her about it she said oh I did not know they usally bring the bottle back to me if their is a add on.
No sorry, no we will take care of that nothing it was just like "next" I feel like this place is the Mc Donalds of messages and it is run by clowns. Oh and the best part my "one hour" message ended at 2:50 so it really was a 30 minutes message what a joke!!!! I thing that sucks most is my husband purchased a $200.00 gift card for me to get a $49.99 message sure I have a balance on the giftcard but what am I going to do with it because unless I sign a contract I will not pay for a "one Hour message" that is not worth $50.00 let alone the now $150.00 they want to charge non members lol this place is a joke save your money.
