Search TipsIf the debt was a joint account, and you filed BK it is possible that your wife is still responsible. So I would suggest you talk to your lawyer. If they are not legally allowed to go after your wife you can go after them.
But with the way you wrote this report, under NO circumstances should you try to do any of this on your own.

If you were dismissed from the bankruptcy, it means your bankruptcy failed and you are responsible for the debt.
If you were discharged from the bankruptcy, that means your petition was accepted by the court and you are properly released from any liability for debt repayment as of the filing date.
Michigan is not a community property state so when you filed individually, you discharged the liability for repayment of your debt only as it pertains to you individually. Your BK does not discharge the liability against anyone else that may be a co-borrower on those same debts. Your spouse is responsible for repayment of the debt that she has individually or debt that she co-signed with you.
Go back to your BK attorney and get clarification as to which debt is completely discharged and which debt has been moved over to your wife.
