I purchased a vacation package from MBTTH in December 2008 for $398.  I was planning to use it in May of 2009 but the Swine Flu hit Mexico and I postponed the trip.  Initially, when I was trying to plan the trip I experienced extremely long wait times.  I was on hold for up to an hour at a time, several times a week...not being able to get a hold of anyone.  At this time, I did not have any email address to where I could email any questions either.  Because I had to postpone my trip I realized I could not take the vacation.  I transferred it to my sister.  More trouble started.  No one would talk to her for over a week, saying the vacation didn't belong to her.  Then when she finally talked to a few representatives they gave her different information.  One told her all times were peak times expect May and half of June, and she would have to pay an additional $200 for peak times.  The other rep gave her totally different dates for peak times.  I had paid an additional $198 for taxes, fees, and ground transportation when I originally booked my vacation.  When I postponed it, I didn't get that money back.  I also paid $35 to transfer the vacation to my sister and they told her she'd have to pay another $198 for taxes and fees and that ground transportation was not included.  The entire situation is shady.  Then my sister and I started to look up the company on BBB.org.  They are rated an F.  They have over 50 complaints in a year's time.  Because of the poor customer service and differing information regarding the vacation I think this company is a scam.  I would be afraid to book my vacation, fly to Cancun and then be stuck there without any lodging or transportation.

AUTHOR: collins80j - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Sandos Vacations is related to the Sandos/Royal Elite resorts in Mexico, Sandos Vacations and Royal Elite Timeshare scams are very well known in Mexico and the US. I'm sorry you were taken by them. Next time, I'd suggest you doing an internet research on the company, before making any deal with them.
