The child protective service took two preschool boys from their young single physically disabled mother. They falsely claimed abuse and would not allow the maternal grandmother guardianship of them. I, the Grandmother apparently have been put on a registry so I cannot work with children or raise them in my home. I lost my juvenile detention job because of it. The report that put me on the registry was more than 4- 5 years ago. I raised 4 kids as a single parent, I was written onto a permanent registry as neglect because my kids got lice. yes they got lice, yes they were very difficult to get rid of but to brand someone for neglect? The other portion of the neglect was dog poop in the back yard "in piles". I was obviously cleaning it up, we don't have dogs that poop in perfect piles. I will always have a record now as a child abuser/neglect. My daughter will also now due to the removal of her boys.
There must be some way to prevent this injustice. There are children that truly do need intervention and they get ignored so these types of cases can be more easily worked. When no problem exists it is easier for the workers then a real case of abuse or neglect.
Registry labels should be more discreet in there labeling decent people. They ruin reputations and lives.

You would not lose your job or be denied custody of your Grandchildren just because once upon a time your kids had lice or your dog pooped in the yard.
There is a lot more to this than you are saying so you have no business filling a ROR.
Curious, why are there two generations of your family dealing with CPS?

If what you are saying is accurate, you should not have been identified as neglectful and put on Central Registry. Also, if this was the only case that was ever substantiated the children should have been placed with you since these are not really dangerous acts. The reason for the registry is to identify people who have harmed children and to prevent them from abusing other children. You should contact the worker who put you on the registry and tell her that you want your record expunged. You have every right to ask that this record be destroyed and if the worker or her supervisor disagree you have the right to have the matter decided by an Administrative Law Judge. Good luck with this.
I am a CPS worker but I try to do everything possible to prevent removal of children from their families. Any kid in the world can get lice, this is not necessarily a sign of neglect and all dogs leave "little piles". As long as the dogs are not crapping in the house there is no reason to open a CPS case. Take Care.
