There seems to be some sort of conspiracy. I was happily moving along with MS Vista. Then, Adobe ceased to work. Then, I was told that Adobe "Flash" is not supported by MS Vista. I would need to pay for an upgrade to MS Windows 7 or the "Flash" would not be supported or vice versa; I am not sure about the software details, but I am certain there is something wrong.

Yikes. This is not a fair nor good faith way to do business. If anyone knows about what is going on, I surely would love to hear about it.

In the interim, I had to order Windows 7 in order to download Adobe "Flash." Yikes. We'll see what happens when I receive the products ordered from Amazon last week. Amazon *does not* conspire in this particular fashion, as far as I know. They simply ship products that I purchased, and did not want to buy in the first place.

Is this a conspiracy between MS & Adobe or is it my imagination? ERC, Nashville, TN

A couple of questions...

AUTHOR: spc3rd - (USA)

Hi Eva,

How long did you have Adobe Flash on your computer running with Vista before you got the upgrade message?  Have you kept Adobe Flash updated on a regular basis?

Shown below is a link to Microsoft's Vista compatability website which you can copy and paste it into your browser.  There is information there about Adobe Flash & compatability with MS Vista.
(or, you can just type into your search bar this:  are there compatability issues with Microsoft Vista and Adobe Flash.  Look on the results page for support.microsoft.com shown underneath the topic description.  That will also take you to the correct page).

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/windows-vista/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=Adobe%20Flash%20Player&v=Adobe&uid=9&pf=1&pi=4&c=Communication%20%26%20Internet&sc=Web%20Browsers%20%26%20Plug-ins&os=32-bit

Also, are you experiencing any other problems or unusual behavior with your computer (besides the Adobe issue)?  There have been a number of reported issues involving malware infections associated with some Adobe products.  Adobe will send out updates (patches) for any products which have been identified as having security vulnerabilities.  I myself have received as many as 2 - 3 updates in a single week.

I'm not saying you have a malware issue, just that there have been security issues reported.  Usually, with a malware infection there will be a number of "symptoms" associated with it...which is why I asked if you are experiencing ANY other problems or computer behavior which seems strange (and has been happening since the time you got that update message).

I'll check back  in the next 24 hours or so to see if you have posted a reply to my message here.
