My car was having overheating problem. So, I went to Midas to repair it. Those guys gave me the invoice of $830 were the Labor charged was $500 when the prices of parts were $300.
I check the prices of the parts they changed online I was getting everything around $200. My main concern was their labor charge.
So, I called Pepboys and ask for the estimation for the estimation of the same things that I asked Midas to change. Pepboys gave me the estimation of $640.00 including thermostat repair also. Where Midas was charging me $180 extra for thermostat repair.
After getting an estimation I called Midas that why did u over charge me? The damn manager told me that this is my regular price I charge minimum this much to every customer. I said that is too much as compared to other service provider and your part prices are also high . So, again the fool manager told that dont compare the price we are providing the best stuff when I can get the same stuff from online in cheaper price.
He denied me to credit me the money even though he knew that he did a wrong stuff. So, I want every SA person to know that please never go to Midas. They are really rude and very much costly. Please help me to offend them and teach them a lesson.

All I see here is one shop charging more than another shop for the same service. Why is that wrong? I mean, if the quality really is the same and the price difference is that large, the Midas shop will go out of business, with or without this ripoff report.
The one thing I have to give you credit for is that you told the story exactly as it went down. Most other people on here would "embellish" it with all sorts of BS to make it look like Midas actually did something wrong.
Go to Pep Boys next time (actually, they sort of suck as well, but whatever).

Here is another dolt who gets a quote, approves it, gets the job done and THEN goes out and does comparison shopping. How stupid is that?
In addition he looks up internet pricing that may or may not be an equivalent part, and doesn't want the dealer to make a profit anyway.

A ripoff is where they quote you a price and then charge you more than you agreed to...did this happen?
You claim you can buy the same parts they charged $300 for on the internet for about $200.
Even IF this includes shipping/handling, don't you think the dealer deserves to make a profit on his parts for obtaining, stocking and inventorying?
Then you claim Pepboys quoted $640 without seeing what was actually involved in the work.
Next time, buy the "stuff" online (cheaper) and install and test it yourself...problem solved.
I would bet you also told Pepboys how much Midas charged you BEFORE asking their price. Of course they would quote lower...even you should be able to figure this out.
