To whom it may concern,
Just a warning about the Midas Muffler shop which has cost myself time , money, and many headaches with thier cheap exhaust products and the warrantee that is suppose to be a lifetime which is misleading .

Two years ago i had a muffler put on my pick up by these people,just over a year later i noticed a problem and went back to have it fixed.

These so called exhaust experts patched my exhaust and did not report the full extent of the damage to the so called lifetime warrantee muffler.

The exhaust expert and I use this term loosely, made a quick fix on my exhaust and told me that the exhaust was fixed when it was not.

Two days later I'm back at the Midas shop with the exhaust hanging off the underneath of my pick up truck.

On further examination of my exhaust system they imformed me that the muffler was hit and caused the break of the muffler and further damage had occurred to the two tail pipes, the exhaust was never hit .

The end result , I was told i would need a new muffler two new tail pipes plus the hardwares used to hang the exhaust.

The end result for my Midas visit, the repair on the exhaust system at the end was over $250.00and the original exhaust work was only $364.51.

This work and the new charge for the repair was the direct result of a cover up by the so called expert.So this repair could of cost me another $250.00 if i had not examined the muffler myself to see that the exhaust had been broken for awhileand when i told them it got very ugly.

Profanities aswell as the Midas shop manger smashing my old muffler on the shop floor 4 times , i mean it got so close to the point of physical confrontation that I had to demand my truck be fixed and I then had to leave the Midas shop .

It would take so long to describe the events of that particular afternoon repair that there is probably no room in here to describe to you, but take my word for it ,it was something to see.

Now the repair that was done on the truck cost me an additional $148.87 for this Midas shop warrenty and one week later I had to go to another Midas shop for more repairs on the repairs performed 1 week earlier.

Please be careful if you choose Midas for your exhaust replacement,and ask to examine old parts to see what is going on with your vehical do not take the experts word for it.

I heard of this web site today on the radio,and how perfect my repairs for my latest problem are yet to be dealt with but,I am calling head office tomorrow to let them know about this shop and there practices with customers.

I have lost complete confidence in Midas Muffler and will go for my repair with hesitation.

Remember be aware and take care of your money .

Very Suprizing

I have to say there must be 2 sides to every story.

I used to live in the area of Ajax Ont. and I must say that the efforts and great

gestures made by the Manager of this location gave me faith in auto repair shops.

I think we all have had bad experiences at one time or another dealing with

getting the car fixed but I still take the opportunity to get my car fixed there

even though I live 4 hours away now.

I was looking up the number when I found this site and I was shocked and felt

obligated to comment .

I'm making a trip too southern Ontario on business and since I was going to be in

that area , I'm willing to wait till I can go to Midas in Ajax for my spring brake

inspection ,,,,,

Why ,?

Because I trust this garage that much !

Well today I can report that Midas ,after a bit of a run around with head office USA ,i can say that district manager for the area that I reside in, called me and really was concerned for the way that I was mistreated as a Midas customer.

Bruno Piva was, I thought very sincere and very interested in making sure that my issues with this particular shop were handled in a prompt and also courtious manner.This district manager phoned me on Thursday July 18 2002, after a brief conversation on the telephone Bruno directed me to a shop close to my work owned by Tina DeJong in Woodbridge on Hwy# 7.

I dropped my exhaust problemed F-150 off at Tina's shop before work on Friday morning and at 10:00 am I recieved a call from Tina who explained fully the problem and what was going to be done to take care of it.This was the most professional treatment anyone could possibly ask for after being what felt like left out in the cold. The truck could not be fixed that day for parts had to be ordered, I met Tina DeJong that evening and she was most courtious and friendly aswell as concerned about the way that my situation was to be dealt with.

Tina explained that the wrong muffler was sent from the warehouse so if not a problem drop the truck to her the next day and it would be fixed. While I now report the truck was fixed and ready to go. I was greeted my the front counter person who then introduced me to Mike Jonah the man who took care of my repair.

So everthing said,other than a bit of a run around at the head office level , I now have peace of mind and a sense of customer satisfaction. This is the way I wish some of the other stories that I read at RIPOFF REPORT should have ended , but special thanks to Bruno Piva (416)-219-3196 and Tina DeJong (905)-850-7878 and you to Mike.
