These people are the most sneakiest strange people ever. The first thing they want to know about you is not if you have model potential, but they want to know if you have ever heard of Z Models. They ask you what all agencies you have contacted, if you say Z Models they get nervous and shake in their boots. The owner of Midwest Models is just a former business partner of Z Models of Akron who is hiding out in Canton because Z Models was fined and sued by some type of official agency, may have been the state government. They were sued for false advertising, charging fees and some other things. The woman claims that she thought Z Models was terrible, yet she stayed there and worked for them and sat back and watched as they scammed girls out of money and only left when a television show showed up to bust their operation. This "Midwest Models" is a hideout for them because the law is hot on their trail and they want to hide out in small Jackson Township. It's just a front for the owner to make money marketing her old, ugly, wrinkled face self, but she needs to pretend she has models working for tax purposes. They say they only take 10% of people and they are picky. They have no proof if they are picky or not, no one can ever know how many girls show up at their office. They pick anyone that comes in, just look at the ugly girls and unprofessional shots that are not even marketable in the industry on their website.

I left a picture with my phone number at their office, then they called me in for an interview, then they acted strange when I walked in the door and asked who had called me, I told the lady it was her who had called me, I recognized her voice and remembered her name. There are only 2-4 people who worked there and I remembered exactly who had called. Then she started acting strange and cocking her head to the side and pulling at her spikey way-to-short bald head and wrinkled crows feet face saying how her boyfriend told her to grow her hair out and this issue she was having at home with her boyfriend. That had absolutely nothing to do with the conversation and she was unprofessional, laughing, jerking around like she had tripped out on acid. Then she just kept pretending she didn't know who had called me. I was about ready to yell at her and tell her I knew that she was lying, but I just turned around and left. They have gotten no one jobs in the years they have been in their crappy, small, trashy office.

I am extremely pretty, thin, tall and look better than most people in all of Stark County. Every time I go out, business professionals and older laides just stare at me and ask if I am a model, girls are jealous of me and guys want to use me for sex, neither of which succeeds in getting anything from me. Just a few more contacts and I will be famous and wealthy, and then when these tacky pigs from Midwest Models come begging at my feet or trying to speak to me in a grocery store, I will ignore them and leave nothing but the thoughts of a Broadway musical in their head. Then, they will remember my name, Fame.

Broken Contract

AUTHOR: Gabrielle - ()

I was 12 when I was signed to Midwest models. I was so excited and ready to start my career as a model. My family pulled together the money for my clothing and portfolio.  We waited. Then new management took over. My mother called and called to see what was going on. We were not hearing anything. Finally she got ahold of someone. They let me go because I was too short! I was 12 years old. I thought I had a contract. I had a dream. They crushed my dreams. I really don't believe it was all that legit anyway. I am now 19. And hoping to pursue a career regardless of my height.

Midwest Model Management is a fabulous agency!

AUTHOR: NMV79 - (United States of America)

I believe it is obvious from the language and lack of professionalism that this person's word cannot be taken seriously.  My children were signed with Midwest Model Management and were booked on multiple jobs and have appeared on boxes for toys and store ads etc.  I have referred over 30 qualified people to this agency and most of them have received good paying work and have gone on to appear in national ads, commercials etc.   The agency will only accept you if they feel they can fairly represent you.  An agency would never sign someone who would make their agency seem unprofessional, as I'm sure this particular person would.  I am not sure how an agency can be called a scam when they don't ask for any money of any kind, not even for web fees (as most legitimate agencies do these days).  They post your photos to their site for free...I've never met an agency that does that... most charge a small web fee.

Anyhow, I certainly wish them all of the continued success that they so truly deserve as they continue their work in the Cleveland area!!  FABULOUS agency :)

Be Professional

AUTHOR: IDJ Mobile Entertainment - (USA)

I can't comment on past shenanigans of the prior owners of the said business. What I can tell is that IDJ Mobile Entertainment is very pleased to be doing business with MW3 also known as Midwest Model INC. The V.P. to date is Josette Kark. She is a woman who is very professional, passionate, & enthusiastic to say the least. I believe some of these reports to be bogus and or biased if not child like. Who is to say one geographic location
is better than another from prior rantings threaded to this posting? And to the originator of this post I sense your assuming quite a bit based on your lack of factual knowledge.
I feel you got your crayolas broke and taking the conversation so far out of text that by the end of your rambling it is all about you and how pretty you are and how famous you will be. Grow up, get to the point of your complaint, and be a professional! Anyways, just corresponding to let everyone know that this company is aces and for unfortunates that think they are a front, don't worry. The company is hosting a first annual bridal show in
February 2010 on the 28th. Guess what? They are going to have models too, lol. The show will be at the Holiday Inn-Cleveland South-Independence location in the ballroom.
I hope to see all the models that will be upcoming brides there! Oops now the cat is out of the bag. Good day to all!

Midwest Models is a SCAM, people.

AUTHOR: 369dunebunny - (USA)

Midwest Models contacted me through exploretalent.com. (exploretalent is another scam, and no I DON'T pay exploretalent, I signed up a long time ago just as a free member - I signed up for the 7 day trial period and they never charged my card or shut off the submission function and my card never got charged but oh well..)

He was replying about my interest in a casting audition...  He told me he was a runway coach FROM MIDWEST MODELS. He told me it would be beneficial for me to go, etc. He dropped alot of names like Fashion Bug TJ Maxx etc... All he stated about those companies is that they are real companies that sell clothes not porn... Well DUH - but that doesn't tell me anything about this modeling job...

The IMMEDIATE response made it seem fishy to me... Showbiz is just not that easy.

First - www.modelscams.com - states clearly coaching, training, classes, or schools IS COMPLETELY UNNCESSARY in becoming a model. Alot of reputable agencies and models have written articles on that site.

Second - I'm 5'2"... why would a runway coach be interested in speaking with me ??

Third - He would not answer my question as to what he NEEDED the models for... I asked if you NEED MODELS... what do you NEED  them for??? to model the clothes of all the names he dropped ??? He wouldn't answer.

Fourth - the 'CHICAGOLAND FASHION FAIR TOUR' as he called it was being held at Glamour Model agency in Chicago...

He clearly stated that Glamour had nothing to do with this event - they were only being kind in extending their facility to hold this supposed fashion event.

But in actuality I know that Glamour has a deal going with them ... An "agent" or "scout" from Glamour will approach an aspiring model and say "you are so beautiful - we could totally find you work .....IF......" and then the money talks begin !!!!!

Glamour is a known scam artist who profits off of photography... Not modeling commission !!!!!!!

Sincerely, Frances Cornett.

Midwest Model Management has made me money!!!

AUTHOR: Justine Plucinski - (U.S.A.)

I am a current model/ actor with Midwest Model Management and I would like to share my experience.

I was contacted by Midwest Model Management in late October of 2007 by the new director and asked to renew my contract with the agency. After I agreed to renew my contract, the agency put me on their website for free and began representing me. In the first several months I was brought in for several auditions and since then booked several jobs. This year alone I have made close to $4,500 through print work, promotional jobs, and video and broadcast work. I will refrain from sharing the names of clients I have worked with, however if you visit the agency website (www.midwestmodelinc.com) you can see many of the models photos and tearsheets. The agents have have been nothing but helpful and always take time to speak with me if I stop in or call. Unfortunately I do not have much experience with the previous owners, but the experience I have had thus far has been nothing short of exceptional.

Best regards,
Justine Plucinski

Yet Another Employee Masquerading as a Consumer Responds

AUTHOR: Zachary - (U.S.A.)

The lone, sole respondent is a worker himself. You can tell by the fact the wanted to reiterate the major company that owns them, no consumer talks in terms of telling the name of the parent organization to get their point across! LOL! They also went into detail about the 'standard model rate' which no one outside of the industry uses, just the workers themselves. There are all sorts of holes in this lie. A modeling agency on Whipple avenue??? now I am really dying of laughter, the economy in Stark county is so dead even the pigeons are starving, no way can you pay models, what a joke! I give up, this is getting too stupid for me, please take your pathetic lies and go elsewhere.

Positive Feedback

AUTHOR: Brown - (U.S.A.)

My young son is a model for a Cleveland/Pittsburgh based modeling agency. He has worked for them for two years and has worked consistently around the regional area. A subsidiary of the Arthur Middleton Holdings company requested my son for a photo shoot two times in December of last year. They paid him the standard model's scale wage and were very professional. They treated him with gentle respect and tended to his needs in a compassionate manner. On the first assignment, he worked almost a full day and the company treated us to a lunch, as well as, refreshments. My son was given frequent breaks and down time in order to maintain his focus. I would allow my son to work for this company again.

I would not have accepted another job from them if they had not treated us in a professional manner.

It's a legitimate business

AUTHOR: Chris Pugh - (U.S.A.)

I'm the Communications Specialist for Arthur Middleton Capital Holdings Inc., which is the parent company of several businesses, including Midwest Model Management.

It's important that you understand the facts of our business.

In October 2007, we purchased Midwest Model Management and moved it from Fulton Drive to Whipple Avenue in Canton.

We've changed the business model of the agency once we purchased the business to better serve our clients. Quite simply, we don't make revenue until our clients work.

I can't speak of your experiences with past ownership of the company, but understand that we're committed to serving our clients. You're entitled to your opinion, but we're a legitimate business.

'Communications Specialist' is NOT a Title of Someone Who Works With Modeling Agency! LOL! Nice Try

AUTHOR: Zachary - (U.S.A.)

I am very familiar with the modeling industry, and in no way, shape or form, do they have jobs titles such as 'Communications Specialist' that work for their agencies, you will never see this title in any of the reputable modeling agencies all across America that actually get girls jobs. Are you a cable repairman or are you a modeling agency, get your lies straight scammers! My brother is one of the top casting agents in LA and he shakes his head when I tell them the scams these people run.

138 models? That's too many! No way can one agency market all of those girls, especially not in Ohio. An Ohio agency, not that one actually exists, should only have about 17-20 girls or guys total. Even in the acting/modeling capital of the world, New York and LA, they only have about 60-80 per agency, and those are the huge, million dollar one's so how on Earth can these small town corn-farm Ohio 'agencies' claim to suppport that many when even in New York they don't have that many jobs? Siggghhhh, it's so easy baby-sitting these scam artists because their lies never add up, I do this to help the girls because I know that this could happen to my daughter.

As far as the girl having an attitude, no one is going to be positive when someone has ripped them off or taken their money, you are supposed to have an attitude and stick up for yourself. If you are skinny and tall, then you are the best person for the job, why not admit it. It is modeling agencies themselves that think that some girls are better than others and only pick certain people. You animals are the one's that turn people away, not the girls. The agency is also small and tacky, why not admit it, if you don't want people to say these things, then get your business together. The truth hurts, as they say. You are the one's that think that some people are better than others, again, who is going to be positive about someone stealing their money or wasting their time, the answer, NO ONE! Go to college and get a real job instead of spending your whole life in a run down county going no where and working at a fake job. Isn't Akron U about 15 mins up the road from your silly organization? Go and better yourself for once. Sad.

More on the new ownership

AUTHOR: Chris Pugh - (U.S.A.)

Since we purchased the business in October 2007, we can't comment on what happened before we took over.

However, we can say we're excited about what we've done since that time.

We currently have 185 models, 135 of them are new since we bought the company. Many of our models have been already booked in local print advertisements and television commercials.

Sincerely,

Chris Pugh

Midwest Model under NEW Ownership

AUTHOR: Dhouse - (U.S.A.)

Midwest Models is now under new ownership/ management. We are not a school we are an agency. We do not weeks of training or classes and we work directly with our clients. We DO NOT hire or interview people with an attitude that they are better than anyone else, etc, etc. This person would not have been selected or used with an attitude such as this. We require professional talent to represent clients such as Dick's Sporting Goods, Hoover Vacuums, Altercare, etc etc.
