SEO Reputation Management at its best!

This note was sent to all parties mentioned within the note about 4 minutes ago - the CA link to the BBB is currently down ... but they will be included soon.

To whom it may concern,

I just spoke with Tammy Cox and Lindsey Zuckerman, two fine representatives of Mighty Net Inc. I would have spoken with Katt McGillicutty, but the floor manager does not take calls. I also would have written to CEO, Adam Kosower directly - but he prefers to hide behind his employees and will not even allow them to give out his name per Lindsey. She stated that it must be for "safety". For what he's doing to a good amount of people, that is probably warranted. I wanted to know who was accountable for this company and had to look this information up on the web and lo-and-behold - there he is! He wasn't too hard to find, type the following: creditreport.com rip off CEO - into Google and there he is. So I don't have to send this too many times, I have pasted this into a separate messaging system to my Ohio Senators and House Representative. On this note I have included the California Department of Financial Institutions, Mighty Net Support and Adam Kasower. Additionally, the BBB will receive this same letter as they have their own messaging system as do the government officials.

Here's the story; I was pulling my "free" credit report on-line and found, through a Google search, a service that provided this - creditreportamerica.com. All I would be charged was 1, fully refundable dollar. The catch, I had to provide my credit card. I'm no fool; I knew better, but went along anyway, what is $1. I figured, I could do my part for the economy. My humor was short lived. From this one transaction - there are 5 different authorizations that I supposedly made. I have spoken with 3 other companies and their various representatives. All the companies refunded my money within 2 or 3 days. When I called creditreport.com, Lindsey, the first representative I spoke with told me that they are not associated with those other companies and cancellation with them does not constitute a cancel with MNI. I consider myself fairly reasonable, hate to be duped and when I am wronged, I will follow the best course I know. In this day and age, that is the power of the keyboard. If a company is going to share the same site, I don't think the consumer should have to call 5 different places to cancel the ONE authorization they provide during the request. When I buy auto insurance that includes towing, rental, and any number of other coverage's, I don't have to call three and four places to cancel! And, I most assuredly will get a receipt of some type!! It is businesses like this, that ruin the good that comes through the internet. It is businesses like this that make me actually think that it should be further regulated (can't believe I said that). It is businesses like this that should be investigated and shut down by those with the authority to do so.

Don't believe any of this? Look for yourself on Ripoffreport.com ... type in MNI or creditreport.com. This type of business is BAD business and congressmen, this needs to stop.

Back to my earlier question, what is $1? Would you have ever guessed $42.80 so far? Of which, I have now made 4 calls and 3 providers have returned the money they swindled. So, now my 1 fully refundable dollar has been reduced to a $14.95 mistake, taken by Adam Kasower and Mighty Net Inc.

I have attached my information from my bill to show all the refunded amounts from creditreportamerica.com, Fraud Protection and Identity Security. You will also see the MNI Credit Report MNTR SVC charge for $14.95 that I never wanted, never used and was hidden (embedded) within all the other companies that I had to cancel. They NEVER confirmed the transaction or gave a receipt - that has to prove something.

I have no problem paying for something when I use it, when it is clear I even have it and when they are open, honest and driven by integrity. I can even live with my bad choices. But MNI is none of those things and I have received no confirmation of their services and therefore never even knew they weren't canceled with the other calls I had to make. The only way I knew they were out there was when it was too late and they had charged my credit card. This is a fraud of the worst kind and someone needs to shut them down and hold them accountable.

p.s. This note will be posted on the ripoffreport.com site and any other site I can find until I receive my $14.95. It is not the money, but the way in which it was absconded that really makes me angry.

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

This note was sent in response to am e-mail (attached below my note) I received 2/25/09.

Good evening Mr. L,

I wish to thank you and I will take the steps to advise those on my e-mail from last evening by copying them on this note. Additionally I will copy and send to the Ohio legislators I contacted and will update the report I filed on ripoffreport.com.

I will state again that I filled out ONLY ONE request for a credit report, through creditreportamerica.com - I'm unsure why anyone would need to fill out more than one - but I don't think I will persuade you from your view and will not go back in to try again to prove you or anyone else wrong. I've been down that path and will not travel it again.

The part of this entire mess that really gets me, is the fact that those that are purporting to protect consumers, are the ones doing things that seem very underhanded. It makes me feel like I need to begin making copies of every transaction, all the legal verbiage I have to check off and all the small print at the bottom of every page on anything I do on line. I hate that feeling. It really should not be like this, I think that perhaps on this point we may actually agree.

Please pass my sincere thanks to anyone else that may have been an influence in this decision.

Regards,
Christopher A. Schmidt

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am in receipt of your email below. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. If I understand your email correctly, you mentioned that you pulled your free credit report from creditreportamerica.com. Mr. Smith, please be aware that CreditReport.com is in NOT affiliated in any way with creditreportamerica.com nor do we share information with creditreportamerica.com. The only way you would be a customer of CreditReport.com is through a direct enrollment on our web site. You also mention that the charge for $14.95 is embedded in our information. If you refer to our website, www.CreditReport.com, you will see that the terms and conditions of your enrollment are clearly stated in normal font on the left side of our web page to ensure that our customers are completely informed when they visit our web site.

I want you to know that while you apparently disagree, our company in fact bends over backwards in its disclosures to consumers that are only interested in their credit report and not their score or monitoring portion of our service. In both cases - score and report - in our view, it is much more important to provide consumers with information that educates - such as the score - as to what the credit report means in the actual purchase of credit. Our monitoring service keeps track of changes and notifies you of those changes as they occur - warning of any information that might be incorrect or of an impending Identity Theft event.

I'm sorry that you feel Ripped Off despite the fact that our terms are very clearly stated. To support the fact that we are open, honest and driven by integrity, we will be issuing you a refund of the $14.95 charged to your account. Additionally, your account was canceled effective 2/24/09 and no additional charges will be billed to your account.

Mr. Smith, I want to apologize again for any inconvenience you may have experienced. I trust our response to this matter is satisfactory. Please feel free to share our response with any outside agencies you deem necessary.

Sincerely,

Customer Relations Manager
