I bought a Groupon in March of 2012 for Milford Spice Company. It was $29 for $70 worth of product. I decided to order in July of this year. My order totaled $71.43, so I only paid $1.43 out of pocket, thankfully.
It's now December 21st, 2012 and I STILL have not received my order.
I received one communication with Laura, the brains behind the Milford Spice company. She responded a few days after I inquired about my order back in September. She assured me that they had a huge growth spurt since the Groupon came out, and they were working dilligently to get all the orders out. They had not expected the boom in business that the Groupon would bring. And she let me know that my order was processing and if it didn't arrive in the next 2 weeks THEN we could discuss reasonable options. I was sympathetic, and decided to be patient.
That was 3 MONTHS AGO.
In October I got an e-mail... It was basically the same sob story-- bit off more than we could chew, closing the gap on orders, working round the clock! Also said that everything's in stock now! If you want to add anything to your order-- which she even assigned a ship date to (mine was mid November, I remember)-- we can add and it would ship with our existing order for free. Plus she threw in a 20% promo code, PATIENCE. Ha! Gotta love it.
I feel for the people who fell for it twice. My thoughts were this-- you admittedly can't even handle your workload at this point, but you want to add MORE WORK for you and your staff. PURE GREED. Not to mention I hadn't even tried these spectacular spices at this point, and I'm losing faith that I even will. So spend more with you? No thank you.
So now it's been a little over 5 months, and I've given up on receiving my product. I've looked into reviews of the Milford Spice Company and know there are a lot more people out there who never got their spices than there are satisfied customers. Just check Yelp for more accounts.
ALSO, it's notable to mention that the previous couple Ripoff Reports are from 2011. I bought my Groupon in March of 2012. So all the trouble she went through last year didn't stop her from running another campaign with Groupon and screwing over another 5,000+ people with her same 'I wasn't expecting this popularity and sales jump' when OBVIOUSLY you did it last year, the same issues went down last year, and basically now you're just repeating history.
So she's very deliberately doing what she's doing. She's not dumb, and she's not sincere. She's a con artist, and to believe differently is nave.
DO NOT DEAL WITH MILFORD SPICE COMPANY!!
