I took advantage of a groupon deal as many across the U.S. probably did.  Purchased a $30 voucher for $15 and placed my order.  Over 5 weeks later I still have not received my order and the company does not respond to emails or phone calls.  I can't find a place to write a poor review either.  Do not buy a groupon with this company.

Laura has lied repeatedly about shipping my order amd I'm not sure why? Why not just send it or refund me, why keep,telling me that it has been sent? She truly has stolen from me and many others. Look at BBB, over 92 complaints, most ignored by the owner Laura, who by the way has an extensive criminal record including larceny. Yet we as the folks who got swindled have no recourse other than to complain on these forums. It's bizarre. Milford Spice Company is truly a criminal operation, they take your money and never send your order.

Very pleased with recent improvements!

I just received my second order from the Milford Spice Company. I was very unhappy with my first order because I had to wait so long for my order to come, however, when I received it, the spices were incredible!

This time, I am happy to say that I emailed them with my concerns before my second order. Laura assured me that my order would be delivered to me in 10 to 14 days or less.

Well, I am delighted to report that I had my order in 5 days, and as expected, the spices were fresh and wonderful!

I know this company had a rocky start with very long waits for the product to be delivered, but I would encourage you to give them another try. I know that they are trying very hard to get things running smoothly, and my current order proves that. I also got a response to my email in a very short time and the service was better than promised.

Ridiculous

In reply to the Company's rebuttal: I understand that it is hard to keep up with all of the orders from a Groupon. However, the original complaint was posted in March of 2011. I also bought this Groupon, but it was in March of 2012. After this first Groupon fiasco, did you continue to place a SECOND Groupon deal? The first time could be a legitimate mistake. The second time is greedy, bad customer service. I placed my order in March of 2012 and it is now January 2013 and I still have no received my spices. I also continue to get emails promoting new spices, discounts, and deals they offer. Finish out your previous orders before you try and take more on!

 This "company" is nothing but a scam.

Groupon

They did deliver. They sent my spices, yes it took 3 months , but they sent me emails and offered a refund if I didn't want to wait. The spices came in and are awesome. The company did everything right, they commuicated with the customers and allowed the customer to decide if they wanted to wait for their product or recieve a refund.

To the person with the complaint. YOU WERE NOT RIPPED OFF. SO STOP IT!!!!!!!!

Very Dissatisfied

I have experienced essentially the same problem.  I called about a month after when I ordered and left a message.  A woman called me back and assured me that my order would be shipping within the next few days.  Another month has passed; I have left 3 more messages on their answering service and I have received no return calls for any of these messages.  At this point, I just want my money back.

I regret that I referred this company to anyone and I have made sure to go back and tell those references not to use the company.  I don't know how any company can expect to earn a good name and provide this kind of service.

I can understand that they were overwhelmed by an unexpected amount of business from the groupon deal.  I can understand that it takes some time to return a call after a complaint.  I cannot accept that there would be no response at all to a complaint, especially to 3 complaints.  And if this is a problem that a lot of people are facing, why did I have to come to a 3rd party site to find out why my order is so late?  Why not a month ago, when I talked to someone and they told me it was on it's way?  Can an e-mail be sent to all the people that got screwed?  It's unfortunate that the groupon locks you in and makes getting a refund difficult.  I am completely done with them.  Assuming I don't get any notification of when my order is coming, my plan is to just chalk it up to a loss and give them a bad series of bad reviews so that nobody else finds themselves in the same position as I am in right now without knowing the risk of dealing with Milford Spice Co.

I hate using the internet to screw a company, but this is a worst case scenario kind of thing.  On what level did they not fail me?

Dear Nic,

Milford Spice Company is a very small company and we were shocked at the enormous response we received from the Groupon campaign you mentioned, and I am very sorry you have not received the service you deserve.

I know very well that it is critical to take excellent care of our customers and we have made positive steps to do just that.  As a result of the campaign, our orders have increased 600% and three new people have been hired to help us keep up with the demand.  This is all from a company started last summer at a farmers' market.  We went from 3-4 online orders a day to sometimes over 100! I am surely not trying to make excuses as I understand it is my responsibility to fulfill these orders, I am just trying to convey a clear picture of the situation.  We are literally working around the clock to get this right. 

Although we are typically on a 10- 14 business day turn around from order to shipment, our orders have at times even shipped over a month after order date.  Our new customer service person is working hard to answer phones and e-mails as we focus on getting these shipments out.

As the founder of the company, believe me I lose sleep when I know we have unhappy customers.  I am very proud of our products and hope you find our spices to be worth the wait.  I don't know who you are or I would look in to your order now,  could you please let me know if your order has been received and the spices are to your satisfaction?  If not, I will personally see to it that you are taken care of and I will work to find a solution that you find suitable.

I respectfully request your help so that we may resolve this amicably.  We do appreciate your patience as we work through our growing pains.
