I took my 91 year old mother to a MIracle Ear location and asked for a hearing aid that would be simple and easy for her to use. The cost was $4500.00. They fitted her for in the ear canal aids that she was never able to put in her ears. My mother has dementia. I took her back approximately 6 times and they ground them down and they still didn't work for her. My mother lives in a residential care facilty and eventually she lost her hearing aids. I called and explained to the rep and he said ok she is still under warranty so I can give her a discount. I told him to only give her one because all she needed was the ability to hear when someone ask her a question or told her something. He charged me $500.00 for this one when we got it back it was the same stlyle. She still hasn't been able to get it in her ear and I can't even get it in for her. I wrote a letter to the center and I never got a response. I have sent a letter to the corporate office and have had no response as of this date. I don't expect one.

Hi
I am sorry that you have had this happen.

I understand what you are going through, and it is a very easy fix.
Go back into the store with your mom,and tell them that you want to have BTE's (behind the ear) instead.
If you can't get anywhere by calling then just stop in.

There will be another mold taken at that time.
There will be a small tube that fits in her ears,and the hearing aid will be on the back of the ear so it should be easier for her to get them in.

Once the aids come back from the factory,you will need to explain to the specialist that they need to go slow when explaining to her on how to put the aids on.
It might take a few tries,but everyone needs to be patient.
The most important outcome of this is that she is comfortable and is able to hear.
