I owned a home in which my tenants installed an alarm system couple years ago. My tenant's moved out and took the alarm equipment with them and I sold my house. Yesterday I pulled my credit and there was a collection account in my name. I called them and they said because I was the owner and signed that it was ok for my tenants to install it in my home (which the representative advised me I was not liable but only needed my signature because I was the owner and it was company policy) So the representative lied to me to get me to sign a contract (i Guess) Although the company nor the collection agency called me not even once or sent me any paperwork at all and just sent me to collections. If I had not pulled my credit I would have never known about it. I have never been over limit not paid anything late ever in my life. Everything in my credit report is in great standing except this account that is not mine! It was my tenants! I was lied into signing and they did not inform me prior to sending me to collections which is ILLEGAL!!!!! They had my physical home address and phone number but chose to not contact me. They asked for my permission to install the unit but they came and took (stole) the unit out of my home and installed it in my tenants new home without my permission. Does that sound right? They ask to put it i but not take out. If they say I am liable for the payments and I own the equipment then where is my equipment? Is that not stealing? They took the alarm and put it in someone else's house. That is fraud. I have asked them by phone to remove it but they won't so I have faxed over a letter and sent it by certified mail to them so we will see if they will take responsibility and remove the negative mark off my credit that I work so hard to keep good. I do pay my bills but I will not pay someone else's bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
