Yes, this can happen to you! Do not under any circumstances, agree to any type of contract or trial period from this alarm company. It will be a living nightmare, I guarantee it! No matter how many hoops you jump through to try and cancel service you no longer need or want. They (whomever they are) will continue to bill you, charge you late fees, bill you for service you re trying to cancel until they wear you down! I'm not sure what corrective action I can take, but I do have my attorney husband looking into it! They even jacked him around when he called to try and get the service cancelled. I would highly recommend doing research on OTHER ALARM companies to see which company will work for you~but definitely do not mess w/ Monotronics...it will only cause you heartburn! PS: Did you know that your alarm will NOT, I repeat NOT NOT NOT, work w/ VONAGE phone service. This is one reason I want to cancel...for months I've had Vonage (which is fabulous by the way) but unless you have Monotronics come out and re-wire your system at a $300 plus charge to you, your system is worthless and it will not work!
