I own a chalet at Camp Coldbrook Barre Ma.. After MORGAN RV RESORTS owning it for the past 4 years and 7 managers later. They have totally depreciated our chalet properties, by putting seasonal RVs across from them. Its a hideous sight for most of us who are from Fl. and use the chalets for our summer home to spend time with our children and grandchildren. It is down right ugly, and it looks like a bunch of gypsies moved in here! Most of us have long term leases and this is not what we signed up for. YOU CAN'T MOVE A CHALET LIKE YOU CAN A RV!!
They boast having 300+ sites 10 of which are across from the chalets, thats right only 10, the rest of the park is only 1/2 full which leads me to believe they are trying to run us off so they can use the chalets as rentals or such for their corporate gain. Our Chalets were worth as much, some 2 X, more than the RVs placed on those sites. This is really sad as many of us have spent time and money fixing them up putting on additions and really making them look cute. Similar to "Oak Bluffs" on the "Vineyard", this section of the camp-grounds was an attraction to all that camped here. Now it looks deplorable, , when I look out my front window and see axles and sewer lines, blue tarp tents, pink flamingos and the such. "MR. ROBERT MOSER HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE WHAT I SEE FROM YOUR SUMMER HOME"? THEY DON'T BELONG HERE!! THEY BELONG IN THE OTHER 300+ SIGHTS WHERE THEY FIT IN!!!
We have gone as far as trying to purchase this small section of land the chalets sit on approx 20 acres from MORGAN in which their reply was "No, that section is a little money maker" All the while screwing us over without even as much as trying to work out something that would benefit us both. As the long term leases run out, not only have they jacked up leases to double the amount, but now its a yearly lease, and we all know what that means, each year or so it will go up. Some people who's leases have expired have too much invested in there chalets to say "NO" to MORGAN"S tactics, some now are walking away. YOU CAN'T MOVE A CHALET LIKE YOU CAN A RV.
We have been lied to from the time the last owner(of approx 4 years) cleared the property, telling us it was so we could see the field across the way (lie), then it was, we're going to put in more chalets (lie), then it was park models which is on the final set of plans. That's about the time Morgan bought it and started putting in RVs in those "10" out of 300+ sites. One of Morgans Reps told me personally, he understood my concerns but there wasn't much they could do about the "few" RVs on the backside, (at the time I think there were 3 on the backside) and immediately removed the ones on the entrance road to the chalets. And that they were going to try to keep the remainder of the spots for transient RVs for campground overloads due to functions and the like. Transients did not bother us for a weekend or so. This truly worked for about 2 years. As it turned out,,,,MORE LIES when last years manager Mike filled all but two spots before our return from Fl.. Now I'm mad and this has gotten ridiculous. WE ARE TIRED OF GETTING LIED TO, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR OUR REAL PROPERTY BEING DEPRECIATED, AND MOST OF ALL THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CHALET OWNERS AND UPPER MANAGEMENT TO RESOLVE OUR CONCERNS OR TO WORK TOGETHER ON THIS MATTER.
?????? AND THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS ???????
