My eldery aunt has a vehicle for emergencies, a 2009 Kia Rio. She keeps insurance on it because her nephew uses the car to take her to the doctor. Someone from Motor Vehicle Solutions called her on the phone, she got the idea she was paying her car insurance. She is recently widowed and still working through a lot of paperwork. The sales person explained this as a policy on the car, they got her very confused. There was no signature or written agreement, she recieved a bill for $197 a month. There was a suggested payment of over $700 on the bill as well. My aunt barely scrapes by on Social Security. How dare someone take advantage of an older person. The bill had all the information about the car including the vin number which made it seem as if it were insurance. I am her neice, when I called to ask what the bill was for an obnoxious woman told me this policy was necessary because it continues to cover the car, repairs are very expensive. She was very pushy. No wonder my aunt was confused. $197 a month would pay for a new Kia Rio with a full warranty. This is no way to do business.
