MovieLand ripoff / Site pops up / can only turn off by turning off computer / wants you to pay money / threatens with credit bureau Internet

For several reasons:

1). They would need your legal name AND SS#.

2). Only LEGALLY ESTABLISHED businesses with a LEGITIMATE business need who have a PERMISSIBLE PURPOSE can access your credit, and to actually report to a credit bureau, you must meet the above conditions AND subscribe to the service.

"Movieland" does not qualify to even access credit, much less report anything.

3). I searched public records. THIS "Movieland" scam has never sued anyone.

Is this a pop-up that comes up when you are not using the net, or simply doing other task?
I am not sure which pop-up, pops in you machine but chance is you may have spy ware.

Do a search for Spybot search and destroy or better yet http://www.safer-networking.org. Another way pop-up may come, is through your Messenger. This pops up if you are not even using the net. If you are not using the Messenger in your company, here's a quick way to turn it off. I am assuming you are using Windows XP, Step 1, Go in to Control Panel; step 2 click Services (shortcut); step 3, scroll down until you see Messenger, double click on it, a panel will pop up and click stop where it say Service Status. On the same pop-up you will see Starter Type select Disable. And that's it. Hopefully this helps. Oh, the pop-up is just a scare tactic to scam you into paying. Good Luck RSW
