I am a single mother of Two and between my children and the sitter being on the computer somehow i got this payment pop up for movie land and Did not sign up for it they said that i would be put on my credit report if it was not paid and since i didn't sign up for anything why do i need to pay for it and they keep sending payment reminders to my pc and that keeps upsetting me when i am in the middle of trying to do something on the pc.
If you go to the part where it says frequently asked questions and then at the bottom customer service it says you can email them and when i do try to email them it says error so of course that doesn't work but it will tell you that you are canceled for free and will stop getting the reminders but they don't stop can someone please help me with this

Computer Access

AUTHOR: Legal - (U.S.A.)

Crystal,

Ultimately you, as the owner of your computer, are in the best position to control access to your computer. Your computer is no different than your telephone line, or your credit cards, anyone who you allow to use these tools can incur charges or commit crimes.

As you can imagine, if you owned a retail store, and somebody came in with their minor child and allowed that child to break or steal items from the store, you would expect that parent to be responsible for the damage. In a retail store, however, the owner has the option of preventing unattended children from physically walking into the store. On the Internet, store owners do not have that option -- anybody can walk through our doors. Worse yet, adults can come in and do all sorts of things, and then falsely say that it was really a child who did the damage.

Currently, credit-card age verification is prohibited by both Visa and MasterCard. Even if it were permitted, the credit-card age verification system is not effective as minors can very often gain access to their parents' (or other members of their household's)credit card numbers. Further, adults do not like to give out personal information every time they want to try a product or view a webpage -- and their privacy should not have to be compromised in this way.

We strongly suggest that you learn how to restrict unautorized use of your computer by installing passwords. The manufacturer of your operating system can give you more information on the use of passwords.

Movieland is very concerned about the safety of children on the Internet. We collect absolutely no personal information from minors. Many parents find blocking and filtering software to be a useful tool for reducing the risks of minors surfing the Internet. We are strong supporters of filtering and blocking software. You can learn more by typing "filtering software" into your favorite search engine.

If you are truly dissatisfied with our product and do not wish to purchase an annual license we will cancel this obligation. Neverhteless, you have not satisfied the terms of the free trial offer and must pay for the software to date. It is likely that you are still within the first month, and could cancel the offer by paying a one-month license fee of $19.95. This option is available through the customer service links at movieland.com
