9/2011 i had the transmission in my 2001 ford excursion rebuilt at the Mr. Transmission of johnson city tn.  i was treated poorly at time of rebuild.  total cost was over $3000.00.  then on 6/2012 the transmission failed again  while i was out of town.  i had to pay for a tow ( $275.00 ) and a rental ( $150.00 ).  the transmission was rebuilt again under warranty.  the shop manager stated that a clutch that was not replaced during the first rebuild failed.   but i paid for a total rebuild ( $3000.00 + ).    now  i m out over $400.00 plus the $3000.00 ..... stay away from this place.

Fixing it Right

AUTHOR: Mr Transmission - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, July 23, 2012

I am not sure what more we or anyone else could have done different to make this better for you except to do the right thing and have it fixed right away without hassle for free under warranty.

As you know if you would have called us directly we would have taken care of this right away by us offering to have your truck taking to one of our affiliate's location just a few miles from Pigeon Forge. In fact we were open that day (Saturday)until 6 pm and our phone records show no calls were ever received from you until the following Monday. Furthermore at the time of you picking up your truck on 6-5-2012 2:32 pm you even stated to us that you never called us directly. I verified this by reviewing our cameras and you even went on to say how nice we were and offer us to come to your CPR class.  Therefore, once again we are sorry for not being able to provide assistance on that Saturday but it is hard to help you if we are not made aware of the issue until the following Monday and the truck is already in route to us by yourself.

Again we sincerely do apologize and know that the repairs we made to your water contaminated transmission and the replacement of your bad radiator was done right. However sometime parts do fail and we are happy with how we handle this repair by not cutting any corners, fixing it right again, and quickly having it ready for your pick up.

when my truck broke down, i was in pigeon forge tn ( about 104 miles according to google maps ).  it was a saturday just before noon.  i called the 1-800 number for mr transmission.  the message that i got then was "all of our customer reps are busy ... leave your number and we ll return your call as soon as possable  ( i did this several times that day ).  so my family and i are now out of town with out a vehicle.  i called the mr transmission shop it johnson city tn, no answer.  they re closed on weekends.  option 1 : wait in pigeon forge until monday.  option 2 : find a rental car ( large enough for 7 people), only one open in pigeon forge on saturday afternoon.  option 3 : thumb my way back home.

Restoring Trust

AUTHOR: Mr Transmission - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, July 16, 2012

I doubt you will ever have anymore issue with the remanufacture transmission that we installed. However, keep in mind you do still have a valid warranty with us and if something unfortunate was to ever happen again, please this time call us first before towing it in yourself from an unknown tow truck company with such high rates. Also please note that we do have other repairs shops that are part of our affiliates and would have promptly repaired it under warranty which was just a few miles from your pervious location.

We always take calls after hours and on weekends and any messages that are left we promptly return so give us a call if you every have anymore issue again.

Again we sincerely do apologize and hope that your trust in your vehicle & us will be restored soon.

here's the bottom line. my old transmission needed rebuilding.  first qoute from MR. Transmission was for $1600.00.  sounds good.  when my transmission is out of my truck and torn down the price sky rockets to $3000.00 +.  i informed them to stop ... cost was too great.  i received a call a few days later that my truck is ready ... bring payment.  no payment = no truck.  i paid.  6 months later while out of town, my transmission fails.  nearest mr transmission ... johnson city tn ... tow bill $275.00 ( mr transmission paid $50.00 ) my cost $225.00 ... rental van cost to return home $150.00 ... my transmission was re-rebuilt but i no longer trust my vehicle ... i no longer trust mr transmission ....

Thank you for the opportunity

Mr Rasnick, we do apologize for the inconvenience.

After 50 years in business, we understand the importance of our customers and appreciate their business.

To clarify, all required parts needed to properly remanufacture this transmission were replaced at the time of original repair of Mr Rasnick's transmission.  As anyone knows, a part failure of any kind is definitely a unforeseen and uncontrollable situation. Although it is unfortunate that Mr Rasnick's transmission experienced a part failure under our warranty, the good news is it was promptly taken care of by us and with ongoing proper required maintenance Mr Rasnick's transmission will be problem free for years to come.

Thanks,

Mr Transmission
