*Consumer Comment: Who owns mugshots.com? Michael Robertson owns mugshots.com
I'm a French citizen and I live in the USA (Pennsylvania) since 1997. I never had any problems with the law in France nor in the USA but in 2007 I had some domestic problems with my wife and I got in big trouble. It was a very difficult time for me as my father who lived in France was very sick and there was a lot of tension between my wife and my mother in France. I was getting blame because I wasn't there permanently to help her with my father's condition. Though I was getting back and forth to visit my parents and I was unemployed at that time. One day I was very depressed and was drinking a little too much, my wife came home and tried to grab the bottle away from me. I pushed her back and her head hit the wall. She called the police and I was arrested. I spent a few days in jail as I couldn't pay the bail ye and I had to take a lawyer. My wife dropped the charges but the Bucks County court house didn't and I pleaded guilty of these charges. I was sentenced to take domestic classes.
I found a new job and unfortunately a few months later I was laid off because of the bad economic conditions then my father died and I had to go home again for the burial. Since then I'm struggling to find another job and to have a
criminal background doesn't help at all when employers run a background check on me but the worst is that they don't need to do that as they can run my name on Google and find all these information on Mugshot.com.... I contacted the
agent for that site and they asked me for $399 to have my mugshot removed from their site, with what money???... I didn't pay enough with the court fees, the lawyer, the domestic violence classes? I read a lot of complaints from other
people online who are in the same situation as mine and it seems this company/site seem to be running some illegal activity to extort money I dont understand why the Justice in the USA allow that type of scam and why is this site still running and nobody does anything to stop?...
I hope you can help me and give me some advices on how to resolve this problem.
Thank you for your consideration.
