Multi Resort Owner Plan waited until all of their timeshare owners had already paid the ridiculous annual maintenance fee of $470.00 to issue a "Special Assessment" charge of an additional $250.00 to pay off MROP's outstanding debts on a property they are building in St. George, Utah. When members complained, the Board of Trustees held a sham of a meeting to "vote" on the special assessment, where the president said that the board had the power to change the by-laws at anytime to remove provisions like the 25% limitations in charging members.

Ultimately he was saying that regardless of the outcome of this vote members will be assessed what ever amount the board felt necessary. He also stated that the board had already evaluated all options and there were no other options so they are moving forward with the strategy as presented irregardless any objects by the members. Nice custmoer service, huh?

To add insult to injury, if you pay this fee over a 3-month period of time, MROP charges an extra $15.00. handling charge If you don't pay this special assessment, then you forfeit the use of your timeshare week that has ALREADY been paid for with the $470.00 maintenance fee.

Talk about a scam, huh? We are getting rid of our timeshare with this company because we don't trust them as a company who acts in good faith. This is a warning to ANYONE who might want to do business with MROP--they do not follow contracts, they violate by-laws set by the members, and their customer service is the WORST I have encountered. It is too bad that companies like this exist who take advantage of the very members that make them successful.
