The scam is simple. Buy anything, and they will keep sending you things and charging you for it. Its a hassle to cancel and cancelling contains additional charges you only see if you ask for a written email cancellation. My wife bought a $30 acne set from them on their site murad.com. There was nothing on the site, in the cart, or in the email receipt from the first purchase to indicate there would be additional automatic charges or any kind of automatic membership. But about 3 weeks later she gets an email about the second charge and shipment, $38.00 for that and it will be followed by a third charge in a few more weeks for $34.00.

We went back to the site and found the fine print which is only visible if the mouse cursor is hovering over the add to cart button. This is not obvious at all. It is deceptive trickery at best. At the same time her login to the site stopped working and they would not reset her password. If you call and cancel it, they will say it is cancelled but who knows if it really is, and in any case you will get a few more charges. They do not tell you about the additional charges at all unless you ask for a written cancellation notice. Because guess what, in writing it becomes legal, then they have to tell you about the money they will still take from you. Otherwise they say its cancelled and maybe it is but there are future charges they have set up that will still be assessed.

When you play the phone game they say the best they can do is refund your money if you send the package back. If you do this, send it certified return receipt so you can take this lying company to court when they say they never got the package. Other reviews elsewhere state they often never get or process packages sent back. The whole idea is to milk the victim for whatever they can get before they get wise and close thier bank account. There is certainly some corporate formula for the percentage of people who will lose patience calling in to cancel it, who will fail to send the package back certified return receipt, and who will fail to get an official cancellation in writing. Run, do not walk, away from this company. who knows what they will try to charge next.
