BEWARE of this company. I got a call from a collection agency (1st Credit of America) out of the blue, stating that I owed MyPerfectCredit.com a $59 fee (for what they could not tell me), and that I needed to pay IMMEDIATELY to avoid damaging my credit. Having an excellent credit score, I was very concerned. It basically amounted to extortion. Strange thing is that I have NEVER done any business with MyPerfectCredit.com, and NEVER authorized any charges by them. I never received any billing notices (regular or past due), but my back seems to be up against the wall here, due to their threats of damaging my credit rating.

I have been unable to get any information out of MyPerfectCredit.com - their 877 number is usually busy, and emails get no billing information or proof of charges whatsoever (not even dates of supposed service). They refer me to the collection agency, who in turn refers me back to MyPerfectCredit.com. It is very frustrating and time-consuming.

If anyone out there has had similar experiences, please contact me by leaving a message here. Help!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Make them prove the bill

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires the debt collector to verify and prove your debt if you ask them to. They are required to give you a notice, either verbal or in writing that you have 30 days to dispute the debt.

If they can't verify, they can't call, they can't collect, and they can't report on your credit report.

If they do any of the above, see a lawyer and sue them dry.
