I was fired unjustly in 2007.
I am a very overweight woman. In 2007 the company made an underhanded tactic of working on finding ways to fire all the "not beautiful" people in the company. If one was concidered "beautiful" then if you committed an infraction of the rules you were just verbally asked to not repeat the mistake. If you were not one of the beautiful, you could not get a supervisors assistance, you got wrote up for infractions that weren't even infractions. I used to post an uplifting and funny quote every day, that WAS okay for the office. I got wrote up for it. I used to talk with the customers to change the customer's view of the client company. I was wrote up for talking to these customers so that they hung up not angry with the client company. I used to be in the top 15% of all but sales AND I was the one answering my teammates questions about the computing system. My times were nearly perfect. Transfer rates very low, sales not great, but my customer satisfaction rate was very high. I, however am not beautiful or thin. There were 24 heavy or "unattractive" people who went on the floor the same date I started. I was the last one off the floor. The only "heavy" people who stayed were in the first class or first group hired. I was heavy, not beautiful, and I was fired

I am a current employee and I weigh over 400 pounds. My supervisor is overweight, though not to the same extent as I am. Another one of my department's supervisors is an overweight woman. Our department's manager is overweight. There is a supervisor in the billing department who weighs as much as me, if not more. There are several very overweight people that work throughout the building, including command center, agents, supervisors, and managers. There are people employed who have missing teeth, who are in wheel chairs, and who walk with canes.
Why would a company that has such a cosmetic bias hire these people? Furthermore, why would they hire people who "aren't beautiful" only so they could fire them later? The company houses over 400 people. They can't all be beautiful.
