The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Steven Spencer during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward National Diesel Engine.
National Diesel Engine is a company closely associated with Midwest Engine as well as Superior Diesel Reman. National Diesel Engine focuses on remanufacturing heavy duty diesel engines at an affordable cost for the consumer. In house they average rebuilding four to five engines a week. Their facilities allow for complete manufacturing of the engine as well as thorough testing, detailing, and crating of the product. Steven Spencer stated the following in regards to his company, "our vision is to offer an alternative to our customers in this industry. Where they don't have to go to the manufacturer, but they can go to a third party source and get the same quality at a fraction of the cost.”
Leads for National Diesel Engine are acquired solely through Google search, "we don't actually pursue customers...they come to us." This is mainly due to the companies quality reputation and hands on process with their valued customers. A potential client can inquire with National Diesel Engine and after gathering information the customer is provided with a quote. If the quote is accepted, "we take care of everything from that point. We handle all the shipping, logistics, getting their old engine picked up, and the new one delivered...once you give us the go ahead we will handle everything from there." Not only does National Diesel Engine offer quality services but they provide them at a 20-30% discounted rate of the average engine manufacturer.
CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION FROM NATIONAL DIESEL ENGINE
During the onsite interview Mr. Spencer was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Spencer stated, "whenever your dealing with human beings and machines mistake are going to happen." Mr. Spencer went on to describe a situation where a customer purchased a engine, and while it worked perfectly in the facility after two weeks of use a problem with the injector arose. This engine was covered under a warranty with National Diesel Engine, "we use warranties to show [our customers] how well we will take care of their product." In this instance National Diesel Engine replaced all six injectors, although only one needed replacing. This is not a common complaint for National Diesel Engine.
When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Spencer explained that he believes the comments are from a past employee who was not adhering to their high standards of customer service, "I as the owner trusted him...once we became aware of [poor customer service] we dismissed him." In order to preserve their quality reputation and offer their customers an additional level of service National Diesel Engine instituted a new practice, "to protect ourselves and to ensure our customers as our engines are being built we are photographing and documenting every step of the way." This allows for customers to truly be apart of the entire process of manufacturing.

purchased re-man engine pre-paid was told 7-10 days delivery and it took 3 months,when finally recieved engine it was not only missing parts but had to disassemble and re-do as head was used with broken valve springs injectors failed testing,turbo and other accessoris used and painted up.after finally spending 40 hrs and a bunch of money got on road invoiced national diesel and they agreed to pay approved for payment they say and have yet to recieve payment no one should put trust in this company as it ill just bring grief and loss
