NCO Financial Collectors Ripoff are Bullies who try and scare you into paying! Tulsa Oklahoma

I was contacted today by a woman named Ingrid, who contacted me here at work under the premise that she was verifying my employment. When I told her that I was the person she was looking for, she said she was calling in regards to a student loan I had taken out over 18 years ago.

She said that over the years a lot of interest had accumulated on the account and that I now owed nearly $20,000! She also said that due to my failure to pay she was going to garnish my wages! I told her I'd call her back once I had a chance to discuss the issue with my husband.

Upon talking with my husband and his lawyers, it was brought to my attention that the account had far passed the statute of limitations and that I owed nothing to Ingrid or her company. I was told to give her a verbal cease and desist letter the next time she called and to let her know that all future calls would be documented.

She called back a while later and when I gave her the verbal cease and desist notice, she said that I had to put it into writing. When I asked for the address, she refused to give it to me and transfered me to another person who continued to threaten me by saying that they would garnish my wages for failure to pay the debt.

They never gave me their address, and when I tried calling back the receptionist also refused to give me that information. How exactly am I supposed to send a written cease and desist letter if you are refusing to give me the information.

My co-worker, who knew at this point I was getting frustrated, called back using our fax machine so that the number wasn't recognized and got a generic mailing address (the one listed) from the receptionist after a few minutes of discussion. She also got the company name and showed me this site and the numerous violations this company has had.

If anyone knows the correct mailing address for the NCO company that Ingrid works at, would you be kind enough to respond? I am going to send my cease and desist to the generic address (listed here) for good measure, but I want to make sure that Ingrid stops calling and harrassing me at work. I have enough on my shoulders here without having to worry about her!
