Received a phone call from an out of area phone # from a Michelle Williams who identified herself as a process server. She told me that I had committed fraud and that she has been trying to serve me summons paperwork and that she and two authorities would be servicing me and that I needed to call 877-537-2708. I had received calls from family members and relatives that they have received similar calls from different callers regarding the same thing and different numbers also. They were asked to discontinue calling but continued to call anyway after stating they had no information to give them. About six months ago, I received similar calls and threatening me with the same antics and to pay $900 with my credit/debit card which I got transferred to another number for payment. I did give them my credit card info but shortly after to notify them that these people were trying to scam me out of money so they flagged my account to not authorize payment, and I notified the credit bureaus to put an alert on my credit report. They continued to call me through VOIP access numbers which I ended up contacting the telephone service technical support # to block access which they did. It stopped the calls for awhile but then I received these type of calls again so I ended up changing my phone # which they were able to find me at my new phone # calling me today. I also had contacted the State Financial Institution and they forwarded a complaint to the DA's office several months prior and did get a reply from both entities that these were indeed payday loan scammers, and were difficult to trace and prosecute but it is on record. I want this to stop. I am familiar with acceptable collection practices, and this is totally illegal and criminal!! I again have had to block my unidentified incoming calls. One shouldn't have to put up with this, and have family members contacted to worry them sick with fraudulent accusations. Please put a stop to this!
