I JUST RECEIVED MY NETZERO 4G PERSONAL HOTSPOT. I PLUGGED IT IN TO GET FULLY CHARGE BEFORE I TRIED TO TEST IT TO SEE IF IT WORKS.

I LEFT IT PLUGGED IN OVERNIGHT! THE FOLLOWING DAY (KEEP IN MIND I HAVE NOT ACTUALLY USE IT YET), I RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE! (Also keep in mind, I changed the ID and Password on the unit, to make sure no one can share my hotspot 4G without my authorization)

I CALLED TO COMPLAIN, THINKING THIS WAS AN ERROR. BOY, WAS I SHOCKED WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT " Mr Wright.... While it's being charged, it will can use up all the data "WITHOUT YOU ACTUALLY USING IT" ...WITHOUT BEING CONNECTED, I DID NOT UPLOAD OR DOWN LOAD A THING! BUT IT USED UP ALL MY BRAND WIDTH JUST FOR ME TO CHARGE THE UNIT??? WTF??

I'm still in shock! I did not check RIPreport.com before I purchase this unit for a total of $74 (delivered)...I should have googled netzero, because I saw 58 complaints lodged against netzero... I DID NOT KNOW THIS COMPANY ABUSED IT'S CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS! THE COMPLAINTS VARIES FROM DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS AND ISSUES, BUT THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IS "NETZERO" THE COMPANY!

I'm sure they used all type of "reasonable" justifications....but in the end... "WHERE THERE IS SMOKE............THERE IS FIRE!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE COMPANY!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SUCH AN ABUSIVE COMPANY...IT'S ABUSIVE TO IT'S CORE, THAT WHY I'M TYPING TO WARN OTHERS TO READ RIPOFFREPORT.COM BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING!!

IF YOU REALLY WANT A HOTSPOT. GO WITH (((competitor's name redacted)))... If the signal is strong in your area... Please go with (((redacted))) ... I had to return my hotspot from (((redacted))) because of signal strength!! BUT, their customer service was AWESOME! NETZERO HAS THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My model# WIXFMM-122  Parts# 990750-0237R Just incase someone think I'm for one company vs another. I'm a real estate broker.... I have no association with NETZERO or (((redacted))) ...

BUY (((redacted))), they did not have coverage in my area so I had to return it... but customer service was awesome. The area that I had coverage was great!!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. The only way that I can see how one can use-up data while charging a hotspot device, is if one is "connected" to the Internet while charging the device. Other than that, I agree with the reports before me.



I paid $79.95 for my stick device on 04-13-2012. I thought this was expensive but since it came with 200MB a month for a whole year, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that I kept my NetZero dial-up service during this period, because I soon realized that 200, or even 500MB a month, is not enough for even the casual web surfer. NetZero has good dial-up plans, but their 4G plans are one of the worst in the business.



I made this clear to them in a survey. I'm hoping that they will revamp there plans in order to make them more competetive with other 4G providers.

I had just purchased my 4g device and only used it for an hour on to get a notice that I have used up my data. REALLY?? bottom line I called and wasd told I should turn off all programs and antivirus. Now why would I turn off my anti virus if I'm searching the web. I haven't even had the device for 2 weeks. So just charging your unit and having programs open runs up data. These people are CROOKS. Mr Wright I so agree with you.
